Are you good at yelling? :-)wacky:)

I try to yell at times but my voice is just so weak that I'm not really that good at it. It doesn't matter if I'm angry or just need to be heard, my voice is just not that great. :sad3: Obviously I'm not really a great disciplinarian or anything and I've just resorted to being a fairly decent compromiser.

I don't take getting yelled at easy though. :sad3:
 
LOUD NOISES.

Yeah, I'm ok at it. Comes in handy on Friday nights on the sidelines, trying to get the attention of a player who's all the way across the field. That's about the only time I really use it though. I'm pretty quiet 99% of the time.
 
I fucking yell all the motherfucking time. I love it, and I'm fucking good at it. Having a hard day at work? FUCKING YELL AT SOMEONE! :rage: You'll feel shit tons better afterwards. I think Ami and Svein heard me yell at a co-worker once over Skype. They were impressed with my epic skills. :griin:
 
I can scream pretty well, but I can't yell from the bottom of my gut :hmmm: But it's pretty freaky when I let loose. It will usually shut up anyone who's giving me crap, even though it takes a lot of energy out of me :sad3:
 
I have a really powerful voice when I yell, I found out when I was doing my Drama GCSE just how good it can be. When I shout I just sound really authoritative and angry, and I shout really loud. It doesn't really hurt my throat anymore either, but again, I contribute that to GCSE Drama; when you have to shout for hours on end, you get used to it.

I have a naturally loud voice anyway, so it only makes sense that my shouting voice is loud and powerful :lew:
 
I'm not really a yeller but I'm an epic whiner when I get into an emotional tantrum. :grin: Yeah, I so shouldn't be proud of that but yeah my natural speaking voice varies, I can be really loud or I can be really quiet. Half of the time people mishear what I say and scramble shit up because I mumble and get quiet when I talk, depending on the situation. So yeah to sum it up, I'm not a yeller per se, but I can get pretty loud if need be.
 
Yelling is fun.

And some times it comes in handy in my line of work, alternating shifts between security an
Crowd controlling(Bouncer) you need to have a loud voice, punk teenagers, rowdy patrons,
fucks needing to be lawfully ejected:lew: Also breaking through the crowd in clubs is hard to do even with the loudest voice so instead of Yelling hand signals are fa more effectivre.

Out side of work? Its very useful when directing people in many situations, if you explain the tone and purpose of yelling to kids instead of at kids its a great tool for training, obviously you dont yell in there faces but when they doing activities and you want to get there attentions its very helpful.

In fights or brawls Yelling is a good tactic to both escalate or de-escalate a situation
depending on the stupidity, inebriation and mood of those involved, but some guys & girls just wanna go you so let em have at it:lew:

I tend to yell only when I am really mad or tired of something. Since I dodnt swear to the max it does not really hurt people. If someone is arguing with me for no reason Ill just yell back. But if it is a really stupid reason Ill just be silent. So I do yell from time to time but it isnt very loud xD. I do yell in Italian though :tehe:
 
I think I've always been loud mainly because I came from a very noisy family and the only way to be heard is by yelling over all the crap going on around you.

Whenever I'm out most people always tell me to speak more quietly. XD

It helps at work too.

The little co-workers around me at work only ever listen if you yell at them. They ignore you if you're too quiet, so shouting orders always does the trick.
 
My voice is quite booming when i shout. I probadly just sound like a really sterotypical scotsmen, maybe like hamish from brevheart.
Im not in the habit of yelling though, when i speak to people face to face i dont shout, il speak at a normal level. Theres nothing worse than listening to someone 2 ft from you shouting a conversation into your face. ITs like whoaa man take it dowen a notch or 2.
 
I used to yell...a lot. This was before my brother and sister have gone to university. When they were around all of the time, the house breaks into fiery arguments now and then (mainly because of my brother's temper). I would defend my sister a lot of the time, so I would have to raise my voice just to get my points across to my brother. His voice is just unnaturally loud. When he yells it's just horrible to have to listen to. In comparison my voice is significantly weaker and when I try to yell back at him, it's pretty much a fail. Other times I just try to mediate the arguments or ignore them altogether, but in the midst of such a hostile atmosphere, I always find myself screaming at everyone in the house out of sheer frustration.

At the moment, I tend to scream a bit whenever things go wrong and while I'm stressed. In that case, it's mainly towards technology when they're deciding to crash or not open the right file or something - just to vent it out whenever I have shitty days.

ABUSIVE yelling as opposed to general conversational yelling, though at thatrate it have to be called shouting? yelling IMO is for aggressive proactive action or diversion as seen in sports, avoiding danger tat kind of thing.

SHOUTING is the sign of someone having lost control of themselves and the situation they are in, and getting angry t the point you lose self control shouting is a primitive form of communication.

i tend to be quite loud by default, so yeah im alright with yelling, though, it tends to come out as a shriek sometimes. Protracted yelling ruins my voice though and i end up sounding hoarse for days
 
I have a problem with volume control. Of course I have no problem with yelling. :andry: Honestly. its harder for me to talk quietly than to yell. :lew:

I kinda wish, though, I could control my voice a bit better than I do. :sad3:
 
I'm usually a fairly quiet person. I only really yell if I get frustrated (usually at a game/my laptop/some sheer idioct I'm unfortunate enough to witness) and then its more like a Nazgul's shriek than a real yell. I just let it out, I don't bother trying to control it. I can control the volume of my voice fairly well, and I tend to keep it quieter, because that way I can be sure people are paying attention to me. Quiet enough so people have to listen carefully, but not so quiet that they won't be able to hear me~

I swear quite loudly, though. It sounds better and is a lot more satisfying if you shout it, and I'm extremely loud when I want to be. I can out-shout everyone in the house, anyway. Its very useful for talking over the top of them if they're annoying me. xD
 
I can yell but honestly I'd prefer not to. Yelling is way too out of character for me so thus I rarely do it. The only time I yell is only if I am home alone as to not to disturb anyone else and I am seriously angry and need to yell just to release some of the anger. I usually feel a bit better after that though.
 
You know I've had a lot of practice on testing this out recently. In the last 13 weeks, I've been student teaching, both at the high school and middle school level. And there have been times when I needed to raise my voice when the kids got too loud. While I'm a normally soft spoken person, I can also raise my voice loud enough to get their attention. A vociferous, "GUYS!" will do the trick. They seem to quiet down the moment I get louder than them. Then they know they need to pay attention. :3
 
I like to yell at inanimate objects whilst at work, because I feel this will cause them to do what I want them to do, as opposed to what they were doing previous, which is generally something that annoys me. I also yell at video games and referees, both on the TV and at the game. One time I yelled at USC football coach Pete Carroll so much that he turned around and grinned at me. That was at the height of my heckling career. I also once yelled at a ref to "DRINK THAT WATER, JACKASS!" And my bro told me to calm down.

So I guess I'm okay at yelling. My throat often gets sore, but if the occasion calls for it, I will yell anyway. Anyhoo...

That was quite impressive, I think we were sat there in silence for a minute or two before plucking up the courage to speak again. :wacky:

I've got a loud voice, so I can naturally yell. I've had tons of practice over the years since most people I know don't really pay attention to my normal voice when we have a disagreement or argument, so I resort to yelling in their faces. Makes me feel so much better getting it all out.
 
My voice is seems loud compared to other people around where I live. I hardly yell or scream (unless I'm listening to some kind of metal song that I'm singing along to, and I do it for the lulz.), and when I do , its usually because someone has really pissed me off - and that would take some effort, considering my fuse is pretty long. And recently the people that have actually yelled at me, I don't yell back considering they're yelling for the most idiotic reason, so I don't see a point in shouting back. I've actually learned myself that if you want a message to really get through someone's head, don't yell; rather, speak normally and say what you have to say in the most honest and blunt way possible (so you're speaking the whole truth), so that can easily effect a person as equally or even more than yelling and screaming does. It's worked plenty of times for me .
