Superstitions

I'm fine with everything until someone points it out to me, or if it pops into my head, then I get really superstitious.

I mean I see plenty of black cats in my time, and probably loads of lone magpies... But if I get the thought in my head then I probably freak a little bit.

Until then though I'm fine. And that's most of the time...

And I don't freak a lot, I just go "oh crap".

For me, a black cat crossing your path signifies good luck. o_O Maybe I'm just some weird Heathen or something.

Now, the one you have to wathch out for is the walking under the ladder one. And that's only because there's a small chance the guy up the ladder could drop his paint pot over your head. >_>

I always known the black cat was a sign of good luck too. o_O

Crows are a sign of bad luck here, though. <_<

What about the Mirror One

7 years off bad luck if you break a mirror

I've never broke a mirror :kelly:

Nor I. I've never broken a mirror...

Lets see....

There's the ladder thing.

Spilling salt.

Leaving shoes on the table.

Treading on cracks.

Then I guess anything to do with 666 freaks people a bit.

I'm fine with most of those to be honest, unless someone or I myself tell me about it, then I have a feeling in the back of my mind that I should sort it out.

I'm a freak with the spilling salt one. >_< Seriously. I freak out if anyone in the house spills salt and does do the shoulder tossing thing to counter it. >_>

I went on a bus numbered 666 once -_- My dad was like "AMG DON'T GO ON IT. IT'S GOING TO HELL! :gasp:"

I'm not really superstitious when it comes to these sorts of things. I broke a mirror about a month ago, I used to have a pet cat who happened to be black and I'm pretty sure I've walked under a few ladders in my time.

Never heard of any of these ones. Although I used to try to avoid stepping on cracks when I was a kid, but that was just a game I used to play.

Screw superstitions. I don't believe in ghost either. If I saw a black cat crossing my path, I'd probably go run and pick it up. (if it let me of course).

Black cats are some of the most interesting species of cats; so God damn the individual who made them a superstition. I am though a bit OCD in some of the things I do. Passing graveyards I do something a bit odd, but it has nothing to do with superstitions, its more like Honoring the dead =).

I'm not superstitious as I'm one of these people who have to have proof to believe in that sort of stuff and ghosts and whatnot and if nothing happens then it's not real. Plus, even if something bad did happen to either myself or someone else have a superstitious event it's most likely it's a coincidence. So I'm probably as far away as non-superstitious as you can get. :awesome:

I don't believe in the black cat superstition either (I have a pet black cat XD)
But I do believe that if you got lost, you will find the right way if you wear your clothes inside out or on backwards (I've tried that we were out camping and it worked! xD)

Not supersticious at all, my mates once persuaded me to try a weegie board once, i had to stop cuz i couldnt stop laughing, i felt like a tit. I got my fortune read once aswell, all my pals got bad news where i got told that i would be hugely succsesfull and run my own buisness ¬_¬ i still dont believe it though. As for black cats, walking under ladders and stuff, i couldnt care less.

I dont walk under ladders cause its common sense lol. Im scared the damn things going to fall on me. I had a black cat for bout 11 years and we had good and bad luck. We never blamed the cat, he was an awesome pet. I dont open umbrellas indoors or put new sheos on the table. Thats it really.

It's not real. Luck isn't about mirrors breaking, walking under ladders, or a black cat crossing your path. Luck isn't something you carry with you all day until it becomes unexpectedly used. Luck is all about time and place.
For example:
A student decides to fake sick and miss school on a Monday. Coincidentally, out of bad luck, something fun/good etc. etc. happened that day which the student missed out on.

Makes any sense?

it wont be i dont believe in superstitions i actually think me seeing a black cat is really lucky for me lol but it is different for everyone ! lol

A black cat just crossed the street a few feet in front of my car on my way home from the gym. I a bit superstitious but i dont want to be! i just cant help it. I feel like ima have bad luck now! some one convince me superstition isnt real!

do u believe this stuff?

Lolwut? No. I've had a bombay cat for nearly 10 years now, and he hasn't given me bad luck at all. I'd go so far as to say he's a damn near perfect cat. A cat with black fur somehow causing someone bad luck is just a ridiculous notion, you shouldn't pay it any mind.

I used to be a bit on the superstitious side when it came to black cats.

But I got over it as I got older.

If you think that you're going to have bad luck simply because a black cat crossed your path, then you're bound to have a negative outlook and make your own path doomed!

"Step on a crack break your mother's back"<--- I' ve tried that-- didnt work -__- I never really believed in supersitions except for good luck one's. I try to look on the bright side of everything so finding a 4 leaf clover& all the other good ones is the ones I believe just because good luck is always good ^_^

I'm not sure about the mirror thing as i haven't done it on purpose or by accident. Nor have i walked under a ladder, the black cat thing though...I swear everytime i leave my house i see one. Doesn't matter if i'm leaving someone else's house either. I ALWAYS see one, it drives me up the wall :hmph:

There's a couple of friday thirteens, so that doesn't phase me.
