So today dawned the birth of a new Zodiac Sign, Ophiuchus. It's been randomly inserted into the Zodiac table, as the Ancient Babylonians have overlooked this sign, but one Astronomer wanted to include it. Apparently it has something to do with the Earth's Wobble on its axis, caused by the moon's gravitational pull.

What does all of this mean? Well, when a constellation was overlooked because the Ancients wanted 12 Signs for the year, but has now been included into the Zodiac, it has thrown everything out of whack by at least a month. People who thought they were Leo's are Virgo's, throwing the entire rotation off.

So if you placed a sincere amount of faith in your horoscope, you may want to rethink it, as you may appear to be a completely different person. People who had their Zodiac tattoos are freaking out. What do they do now?

sauce 1 sauce 2 sauce 3

Hoax? Hullabaloo? Here's the new Chart to have a look at for yourself. Myself? Well I used to be a Scorpio, so my vengeful, jealous and passionate personality that I actually agreed about... is apparently no longer the case. Now I'm a Libra. I don't wanna be a scale, I wanna sting people dammit :rage:

ARIES = APRIL 19 - MAY 13
TAURUS = MAY 14 - JUNE 19
GEMINI = JUNE 20 - JULY 20
CANCER = JULY 21 - AUG 9
LEO = AUGUST 10 - SEPTEMBER 15
VIRGO = SEPTEMBER 16 - OCTOBER 30
LIBRA = OCTOBER 31 - NOVEMBER 22
SCORPIO = NOVEMBER 23 - NOVEMBER 29
OPHIUCHUS = NOVEMBER 30 - DECEMBER 17
SAGITTARIUS = DECEMBER 18 - JANUARY 18
CAPRICORN = JANUARY 19 - FEBRUARY 15
AQUARIUS = FEBRUARY 16 - MARCH 11
PISCES = MARCH 12 - APRIL 18

Well personally I've never held much stock by astrology, but I would be curious to know what people think about this when they find out that the zodiac personality profiles they once thought described them, didn't actually apply to them. I mean what if someone champions a particular trait, going "Yeah yeah, I'm a ______, I'm (adjective) and (adjective)!" and then finds out that it's the wrong sign, and the new description is completely different? Can astrology still really hold up for them at that point, or will they merely try to find some way to associate themselves with the new one?

I would think a lot of people might lose faith in it as a result of this :hmmm: However, whenever I've read such descriptions, I've also found myself able to associate with at least 6 or 7 different signs, or found that mine is not as correct as one at the opposite end of the year, because many astrological things are somewhat generically written :hmmm:

I don't believe it, and I don't care for it.

My birthday is January 16th, and I'm a capricorn. Thank you very much.

As I said there...

First off, old news. I swear I heard about this months, maybe even a year ago. Why did it get "revealed" recently again? :hmmm:

And as for the whole "omg shift, I'm no longer who I am", PEOPLE! The zodiac is based off what stars you were BORN UNDER. That means you're all still the same signs as you were before this shift. The new dates only apply to people born AFTER this shift happened.

Id like to see the reaction of some tool who really goes in for this crap and doesn't find out for a month or 2 :lew: and there running around trying to figure out why stuffs not workin the way it should or the lucky numbers are bullshit.

The Moon:awesome: you gotta live it! 400,000 kilometers away and still causing us grief,
wait till they find out the sun rotates differentially Ohnoes:panic:

...yeah. I was a born a Scorpio and I'll die a Scorpio. People can't just change these things as it suits them...well, they can, they just shouldn't expect me to go along with it.

All the same, if according to this new Zodiac I'm a Libra, that should make it all the more amusing. I quite often read my horoscope so I can laugh at how inaccurate it is, it should be even worse now that they've swapped my sign.
"Oh, you're not doing well as a Scorpio? OK, we'll try making you a Libra until we decide that the new Zodiac sign we're adding isn't working out anymore. We'll get back to you."

Mystic Meg had more credibility than this. Speaking of which, I expect she's one of the people having shitfits about it...she should have seen it coming. Ahahaha.

Oh, and Pluto is still a planet. Just thought I'd toss that out there.

Been a Virgo all my life, only to find out I'm now a Leo :(

Actually.... :wacky: RAWR

I don't care for this. It's all a load of shit at the end of the day.

I really dont care that a new Zodiac sign has been born. I am still A Leo and that is all that matters :griin: I usually never ever read this stuff. But for people who have changed signs now... Pfft so frickin stupid :jtc:

What on earth? I was on the boundary before and somehow I'm still on a boundary... 8(

Either way, I was between Scorpio and Sagittarius and now I'm between Libra and Scorpio... November 22nd is the worst birthdate ever :rage:
Some places say Scorpio and some say Sagittarius so I've never really known... but fuck this, I'm staying Scorpio, it's what I've always claimed to be :mokken:

I don't really care for horoscopes much, anyways :hmmm:

Um ok, what is the point of changing the zodiac? It's all fun and games anyway. I mean, does anyone actually take their horoscope seriously?

I wonder if this will even catch on.

Does it count if i'm mentally 2 years old? :hmmm:

Also, isn't Ophiuchus that secret stellazio in FF9? /random

It is yeah xD

Apparently its always been there but summat about the cycle of...summat in the constellation meant it was never included

According to this, Im one of these Ophi- thingies. So I still find myself with a star sign I can't spell..

Does this mean all the signs in the papers are gunna change? :wacky:

It's all bollocks anyway

Wow-according-to-this-I-dont-give-a-fuck.jpg

Is there anyone here who actually believes their horoscope? The mystics/sages/etc's advice is always so vague and ambiguous. I was happy being a Gemini and apparently I still am seeing as it only effects those born two years ago...

:hmmm:

I don't take horoscopes seriously either. I just fancy reading them for a laugh mainly out of boredom and then (depending on whether or not I remember what was said) look back a month later to see how wrong/ridiculous they were. Ambiguity is usually how they roll. If they really do have anything to go by, I'm facing financial problems this month. How wonderful.

I'm supposed to be Libra now. No thanks. I've always been Scorpio and I'm staying a Scorpio. Not that I really care, I just prefer that over Libra. :wacky:

Tbh, I think most people only use their star signs to determine was type of gem they'll get or colour they go for, i.e. I'm Aquarius, I'll go for the blue, etc etc. Poor fashion and style, it's always being hit with the blunt side of things. :sad3:

But, ja, as far as I'm concerned, this'll only effect the 'ole swagga, nothing more noteworthy than that.

The news did surprise me, I'll give you that. Being a Scorpio most of my life and then being change into a Libra wasn't expected. But I'm not a person that believes what happens in life is all linked to Astrology, so I can safely say that I don't feel any different physically or mentally because of this, nor do I feel a change in anything other than the sign. There have been plenty of days where things would happen that totally disproved whatever a daily horoscope says what will happen - and I have plenty of friends made with whatever zodiac is supposedly 'my enemy' and plenty of people I dislike which the zodiac says I should be 'companions' with - and nothing's going to change in that line of fate if I suddenly have a new sign. It's all trivial to me .
