This thread is about things you've learned today. Whether they be embarrassing, trivial, funny, interesting, and so on and so forth, post what you've learned here.

Today, we learned that we can't sing. Kind of hard to fight back on that when even we start to think, "Damn, we can't sing."

Even worse, today or tomorrow that's going to be confirmed by you guys when you all sit back and think, "Damn... Tsukianei can't fraking sing."

We also learned that dogs can stub their toes/paws as well as we can. :XD:

So, what have you guys learned today? Was it expected, or unexpected. After all, you do learn something new everyday. :mokken:
 
I learned something very trivial, though amusing today. My English Literature class was having a serious discussion about this one particular poem involving disasters (we drifted off-topic a little to plane crashes) and the discussion suddenly became rather depressing. So before the class ended, my teacher ended it on an odd note, saying that:

"You should be more scared of donkeys than planes. Apparently more people die from donkeys than in plane crashes".

So do you hear that people? If she is right, then be very careful of a donkey the next time you see one. Or it might kick you to death. :gasp:
 
Dang there's people who use We when talking about I. I learn something new every day I guess. :smartass:

Seriously.. I probably learned a few things today in which I didn't know yesterday especially work related. I know for one L is getting hair extensions for the wedding, personally I'm interested to see... but just found out.

Weddings cost a fortune no matter how small they are.

This morning we learned that our deep voice, according to some members of the forum, is "smexy". :hmmm:

Which is something we never expected ever. :mokken:

Definitely agree with you there! :phew:

I finally went into the RPG section today and learned how to make a character and start playing :awesome: The trouble now is trying to come up with something good :hmmm:

Also learned that before tomato ketchup was invented, they used to make it out of things like mushrooms, fish brine, blueberries, lobsters, walnuts, kidney beans, cucumbers, and grapes, just to name a few :confused: Kinda glad they don't do that anymore, though it would be interesting.
 
I learnt that your best friend is NOT your friend sometimes :sad2:

I also learnt that Olivia and me are fast becoming twinnehs :tighthug: and that we both have lotsa work and are tired etc.
 
I learned that our damn weathermen are horribly wrong when it comes to predicting weather or not it'll sleet here or not. >.>
I also learned that strawberry cupcake mix doesn't taste like strawberries and don't mix well with chocolate cupcake mix:gasp:
andd that according to Keke i've become shorter.... :hmph:
 
I had the last exam of this term today, and it was Math.

What surprised me was that I found it easy and knew every single thing. Naturally, when I moved to Ireland my Maths skills fell a large scale and I had a hard time catching up. I'm glad I'm getting better now, the exam was like a cool breeze!
 
Suede skate shoes are NOT good snow shoes. -__-

Walked to school today. The damn suede soaked in all the water from the snow, and the traction (or lack thereof) made me nearly fall about 5-6 times on ice while having my laptop to use as a cushion. :gasp: Gonna be a lovely day. xD

Today, I learned that the movies you might think looks cool/neat/funny turns out to be the opposite
I also learned that the Beatles have some weird ass lyrics xD (was playing Rockband earlier)
Another thing is : dont paint your nails without something covering your toes D= it wll bleed through :gonk:
 
Today we learned that Dobermans have a birth defect that causes their brains to slightly outgrow their skull. Leading to frequent headaches, and a very sensitive skull. Meaning that Dobermans shouldn't be hit in the head; at all.

We also learned that the Turkey Vulture, in order to defend itself, spits projectile vomit at its would be attacker. It gives off a very putrid stench, and has been known to make others pass out.
 
Apparently the number 0 wasn't invented until the 5th century by the Indians. It was spread to Europe by the Arabians. Europe at the time was having trouble doing their mathematical sums with roman numerals.

I learned that no matter what you do or say some people don't change. That and i learned to not believe everything others say.

I learned that, its better to spend time trying to get myself situated and moving ahead in life then to use that time on trying to talk to people and try to converse with them.


I learned that the only friend i have is myself, "friends" come and go anyway.

I learned that the judges screw you over when really you should be at least in the top three in the Olympics. Poor French guy XD.
I also learned that Trivial Pursuit is a reaaally hard game to play >.>
Another thing is that things don't always work out the way you want it to be >.<
and, that (according to my fortune cookie) 'My highest prority this year will be my family.'
 
I learned to never order pizzas from Papa John's on an empty stomach. I was hungry this afternoon and ordered 2 large pizzas. Yeah, I still ate chow at the dining facility then had my pizzas delivered. I ate about 4 slices and the wholes pizzas are still on my cupboard.

So yeah it'll be food for the next couple days, but I think I could have survived without 2 large pizzas...
 
Hm, today, I learned that I'm not as disciplined as I had thought I am.

However, my new year resolution is to actually be very organized in whatever I do. That would certainly be a challenge, seeing lesson I have just learned. Nevertheless, it's still too early to speak of failure. I'll try to change that as I go on.
 
After ordering pizza from the same place I've been ordering from the last two years every week, I found that the last three weeks that I was getting food poisoning.

Yet after the first time I still continued to order from the same place another two times. <_< And found that I got sick both times then as well.

Either the hygeine standards have dropped, or my stomach just can't take pizza anymore.

Anyway, the point is that I learned that I can't eat pizza anymore from that particular place at least for a good while yet.

It took me three weeks of being sick to figure that out. <_<
 
I haven't been catching up with the news or reading the papers in these last few days until now. One thing that made me tut with disgust is the John Terry-cheating-on-his-wife-and-reunites-with-her-in-Dubai affair.

I've learnt that most WAGs are even more stupid than I thought. Poor Toni, her multi-millionaire husband went off and had an affair with Wayne Bridge's girlfriend. Obviously Terry isn't a very faithful person is he? Obviously all that money has drilled into him the idea that he is above everyone else and can do what he likes. In such a situation, you would divorce from your hypocritical, cheating husband wouldn't you?

No. She and Terry reunited in Dubai and frolicked around like newlyweds. As though nothing happened at all. Well done Toni, you have shown how stupid you are. Worse, she has accepted him back, but with new, harsher rules. Way to go, Toni. What's to stop him bending them again? What dignity does she have left for taking him back?

It's the money. Toni can't live without Terry's money. She could earn her own money (for once), but no - she would rather live with an unfaithful husband and have the money.

I meant to post in here last night, but I recently learned that I'm actually into Halo 3! I never knew that was possible since I'm not a fan of shooter games.

And I learned how much fun it was to co-op with people (in last night's case, Jace and Tia) for the very first time. :tehe:
