Do people around you hate ff?

Out of all my friends, I'd probably have to say it looks like I'm the only one who hates Final Fantasy, but that is because they still enjoy some aspect of it, but I personally, am very unforgiving and extremely critical of anything that seems like it's been half-assed when I paid a full price for it.

I mean, I have a few friends who don't like Final Fantasy, but it's not like they have a particular disdain for the series; it's just not the kind of game that they like.
 
Half my friends don't even know what Final Fantasy is. I usually have to go into legnth about what it is, then they'd be like "Oh, i remember that game, i played VII and got past the train level".

Can't help but laugh when they look at me, telling me that with the proudest look on their faces sayin that, lol.
 
When Advent Children came out I remember there being a huge backlash towards the movie, then FF7, and finally the entire FF series. though it has since calmed down. Most people I know either like it, or are indifferent towards the series.
 
My family more or less tolerates the series but we still have trouble with Sin and its driving us nuts. :rage:
 
I got all my close friends into final fantasy years ago, and we all still play it today. My sister watched me play FFX, FFVIII and FFIX and at this moment she is plying FFX all on her own : )!
 
I don't think I could stand being around anyone that 'hated' FF! :D

Although having said that, I suspect that most of them wouldn't have a clue what you were on about if you asked them about it!
 
My last post in this thread was when I was such a noob so lemme expand..XD. People around me do not hate Final Fantasy. In fact when I got to my daily College spot and sit down each time there is a whole group in the back who talk about Final Fantasy. I hear them talking about Terra, Celes, Yuna even talking about Versus XIII and when it will be released. As for the general public at my college most people do talk about it but some others do not. I know I do hear Final Fantasy a lot when I am walking in the college though :lew:. The group in the back of where I usually sit are RPG freaks xD. I know some of them too but not many xD.
 
To give a simple answer YES lots of people hate it and question me why I love the game, and yes they talk alot of crap about the game right in front of me or the ask the same repeated question when is the Final final fantasy theirs no end,etc -_- Theirs only a few I know that like it, my love and 7 others :I
 
Most non-gamers I know think Final Fantasy is a game based on the movies. Some casual gamers say it looks cool, but "don't have the patience to play it from the first one to follow the story". I then have to explain how the sequels work :-S
Hardcore PC gamers I know hate it because it's mainly a console series, and the rest either have only played VII or VIII or played XIII and now think they're all terrible.
 
^ unfortunately, my own family isn't much better especially since they believe the story is really hard to follow. It is not that hard actually but then agian, there are not as invested in it as I am.
 
Well, most of my friends did like it, but they seem to have changed over to COD-or "Grown up" as they call it. Seriously, its literally all they play. Of any FF's they have played most of them only played X or XII,one got III's remake, then IV's remake. Then finally, one thought he knew the story behind every game because they played KH... On thought Sora was from one of the FF games :L
 
I don't think I know anyone that actually hates it. My boyfriend and I are both fans. Most of my siblings like it too. One of my brothers doesn't play RPG games at all so he doesn't exactly hate FF, he just doesn't like RPG games in general. And the majority of my female friends don't play video games at all. :lew:
 
Naww, everyone around me either doesn't play video games or doesn't have much an opinion of the Final Fantasy series. A couple of my friends really love them, and funnily enough, the person I know that loves them the most is my best friend's 50-ish year old mother. I have no haters around me, but then again, I don't really ask people their opinion of Final Fantasy that often. Perhaps I'll start doing that at work. I'd get myself fired within a day for bugging people, but hey, what a way to go, right?*

*Of course, I'm kidding. It would take too much effort to do that silly.

I use to think hat Sora was from an FF game but that was along time ago and I know better now.
 
Shockingly enough, no. No one around me hates it. Sometimes I bring it up to somebody and then their all like "huh? What's Final Fantasy?" which goes to show how much it's fallen as a popular title to buy. If I go around and say Bioshock! I bet everybody would know what it is. Yeah, it's not hated, but not well known around here either.
