[V5] What are you currently listening to?

The Eraser - Thom Yorke

I recently discovered this song. I just love the haunting vocals and backing piano chords. Yorke has a really fragile voice in this song and it's awesome IMO. Sometimes it's nice to listen to a depressing song, rather than the more upbeat happy ones I usually listen to.

I think it's about how two people in a relationship try to 'erase' each other, but the opposite actually happens and they keep appearing in each other's lives.

That's kind of what the lyrics say anyway and I'm not good at analysing songs. :mokken:

Tinie Tempah Feat. Eric Turner - Written In The Stars

This song has grown on me so much lately and I can really relate to it. I don't even mind Tinie Tempah's rapping, he's not even that bad. But I particularly love Eric Turner's chorus. It might have a tendency to repeat itself, but he's got such a belting voice and it's a great song to sing along to.

Arcade Fire - Ready to start 9/10

I finally downloaded their latest album and it's really good. The is the second song on it and musically it's very original like the rest of the album. I'm not sure about the lyrics meaning however, but i think it's about starting over a life after a relationship.

Somebody to Love - Queen

I've had this going through my head all freakin' day...I blame that accursed Confused.com advert...although the singing in that is a mutilation of a good song. Nothing beats the original version ♥

OneRepublic - Say (All I Need)

I heard this on the first episode of The Vampire Diaries and since I've downloaded it, I've had it repeat. Can't believe I've never heard this nice little song before. This is up there with the likes of Apologize and Stop And Stare. It's slowly turning into my favourite from them. It's so emotional and Ryan Tedder's literally pleading for everyone to listen. The production to this is amazing as well, love the music behind the voice.

Armin Van Buuren Feat. Justine Suissa- Burned with Desire

Such an amazing song...it always touches my heart whenever I hear it. Its sad, it reminds me of some of my past relationships, when things don't end up working out.

"When you touched my face
When you called my name
I burned with desire
But you left me in the rain..."

X-Dream - Quantum Lab

I think I already mentioned that the album this song is from is one of the best psytrance album I have ever listened. Six years after, I still listen it. This is a very relaxing track but still with a relatively fast beat. I like the effects they put over the singer's voice. She sounds a bit like a robot.

I remember dancing on this song when X-dream came in Montreal in 2005. It was a memorable. The crowd was really in unity. With the talent X-Dream have, It's almost a shame that they haven't release anything new in since 2004.

empire - kasabian
i've randomly started listening to them again over the last couple of weeks. empire is one of their better ones, and absolutely fantastic live. i hope they'll be touring again next year because i really want to see them again...

No Spoken Word - Stevie Nicks

I've never really been overly keen on the Rock A Little album, but recently, I've grown to love it. No Spoken Word is a classic 80s rock song, her vocal is strong and wild, and the backing singers harmonise nicely. I love the overall 80s vibe to it all. It's so cheesy, but it works.

MST3K's Canada Song - Mike Nelson, Tom Servo, Crow

Yes, the infamous Canada song from the single greatest episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. Tom Servo's attempts to praise Canada go horribly awry.

In the best way possible.

Don't take it too seriously.

Neighboring Infinity
Motoi Sakuraba

This was one of the tracks on the Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria OST. I never played the game before, but I heard some of the OSTs from the game, and was pretty impressed by the musical style. Which was why I'm listening to this song right now.

That aside, I find that while most of the titles of the pieces are a little too wordy, it actually sounds cool, haha - a key reason to my listening to these songs, actually. :D

The Black Eyed Peas - I gotta feeling (Perplex vs Intersys remix)

I have to admit that I'm not a big Black Eyed Peas fan, but the first time I have heard this remix, I was dancing alone in the basement. It's f*****g great.

Perplex does usually very good remixes of mainstream dance/techno/trance songs and this one is no exception. I especially like the part that start at 4:40 near the end of the track. 10/10

Ronald Jenkees - Disorganized Fun

Been on repeat for about half an hour now. It's a really fun beat yet it's not totally... annoying. One of my favorites so far by this artist.

Katy Perry - Firework

Awesome song!

I'd never heard of it until I saw the title on the back of the new Katy Perry album I got for Christmas.

The video clip is gorgeous! I love how they made the colourful fireworks come out of different people. <3

Her lyrics are always so different too. So creative and original.

Nachtmahr: Deus ex machina

I'm majorly into industrial european stuff, and i came across this band last year, whenever i get the urge to kill something (on games) i usually have this band playin on youtube and it spurs me to go all out.

Love this band to bits!

Paramore - Crushcrushcrush

One of the better songs from Riot! and I love the constant beat going on there. Hayley uses the most of her vocal ability here and the theme behind the song is pretty intense. Guess you could say I've been listening to them quite a bit since Josh and Zac Farro left the band. Regardless, this is still one of my favourites from them and even if it doesn't make sense at all sometimes, it's a great song.
