So what does your house look like today?

It's the day after Christmas here at 7pm and my house is still a mess. XD

The only thing that was done was the dishes and I didn't even have any people over during Christmas! >.<

We opened presents Christmas morning and then put our wrapping paper int the bin, but there are just presents everywhere in the lounge room. All over the couch and floor.

Then there are more over the kitchen bench and bedroom.

The floor needs to be swept of grass brought in from outside from walking it in during our different trips to people's houses yesterday.

All I have to do is a few simple things such as collect all the pressies and put them away and then sweep the floor but I am in no mood.

So what about you people who actually had people over for breakfast, lunch, dinner and then activities such as opening presents?

How is your place this morning/today/afternoon/night?

Are you too hungover to bother dealing with it?

Did you clean as you went yesterday?

Or are you like me and have hardly anything to really clean up?

Christmas is a mercifully quiet affair in our house, the only real difference between yesterday and today is that things have been opened. The TV area is a little crowded with my brother's Wii and games, and there are various bags and boxes on the floor filled with things, but otherwise it's pretty much the same. Slightly messier than usual.

However, it's doubtful that it's going to change much at all for at least a week, and longer for me when it comes to putting things away. It took me almost the entire year to finally put all my Christmas presents away in their proper places a couple of years ago, and I think it was around March this year that I sorted everything out...yeah, that box will probably stay at the foot of my sofa for a while yet. xD

Same as Martel, our house doesn't tend to be busy over Christmas since we have quite a small family and anyone who doesn't come on Christmas Day tends to come on Boxing Day instead. My dad picks up all the wrapping paper off of my brother's and sister's presents as they go and my grandma always hoovers and cleans the day before Christmas and anything messy on Boxing day. So yeah, little mess in our house. :ohoho:

The house isn't particularly messy other than the dishes :hmmm: However, our bedroom still looks the same as it did when I posted this last February, in the "My Room, My Sanctuary" thread, as an attempt to scientifically explain the befuddling phenomenon that is my living space:

The only difference now is that, the booty we obtained from the fat man has been added to the mass of matter.

We don't put up house decorations every year, so luckily that's one less thing for us to worry about. But yes, we made a big dinner for the family yesterday, and the sink is FILLED with plates and containers. I'm probably going to end up cleaning it all myself if it doesn't lower in pile by tonight anyway. As of right now, as the day after Christmas, its pretty peaceful ~

Ours is fine. Christmas decorations are all down already.
It was a fairly quiet one, just me my mum and sister so there wasnt much mess to be made really. I wad dead hungover on christmas day anyway so wasnt much in the mood for anything. All the papers from gifts were thrown out later in the afternoon. My mums ocd about cleanliness so it had to go soon as >_>

We clean as we go, had no family over this year. Usually have my three older siblings over, but not this year. We keep our tree up till the first. Just how it's been in my family. :mokken:

It was quite and uplifting. Had beautiful snowfall and had a few inches on the ground.

Very nice Christmas.

I stayed at mums xmas eve and last night, my house hasnt even got a tree in it, never mind clutter. though, ive cleared out ellies room today and theres 3 bin liners at the top of the stairs full of stuff to charity shop

My mums house is pretty tidy though, I was doing the pots as she was doing dinner yesterday, so that was pretty much just done as we went along, bar our dinner plates, and all the wrapping paper was bin linered as we unwrapped as well.

We jut keep on top of it as we go really. And Ive never drank on xmas day ever, so i dont even have a hang over to contend with, just a cold and im knackered after sorting ellies room out

John and I went to my parents and brother's place for Christmas, so it isn't too terrible at our appartment. We just have stuff all over from moving in XD And we went to IKEA today so there is furniture parts everywhere. My mom's place is pretty nice. She had a big party and pretty much cleaned up last night and this morning. She's superwoman! lol that and my aunts helped out some.

It's quite immaculate here as my mother and I cannot stand mess. We have our cousins and their parents over, so I can't exactly say the house was very quiet this Christmas. It was rather messy in the living room where all the unwrapping was taking place. Boxes and wrapping paper were all over the place, but we felt compelled to pick up after ourselves by the afternoon once the cousins' initial excitement had finally waned. A little bit of hoovering may be needed in some spots, but other than fact there's actually very little mess.

Our house is a f'n mess. I've been working too much and have been too busy/tired to clean it...and now we've added wrapping paper bits, empty boxes, and a whole bunch of clothes, presents, and dishes I have to put away. I had a wonderful Christmas, so I guess I can't complain, I just hate cleaning when its done because I've got an extra mess to clean on top of an already messy house...and I will admit its driving my OCD need for cleanliness and organization right up the wall :rage: ...Ah well, after the sale tomorrow, and a Starbucks coffee, I might feel motivated enough to do some cleaning. :ryan:

My house is sparkly clean. We clean as soon as we finish with our presents xD

The tree has another week, and then we dump it :P

Well, since I went home for Christmas, my apartment looked the same as it did when I left (that is, when I got home last night). I cleaned it this afternoon because I was bored and it was just getting really dirty, so my place isn't too bad. My mom's house is clean, too, for the most part. By her standards, I'm pretty sure she thinks it could use a few hours and a couple of maids.

'Twas just my dad, his girlfriend, sister, and my bro over. Wait, I take that back, later my dad's friend Pete and Gracie came over for dinner but, that was towards the end of Christmas day.

After un-wrapping prezzies, we just left our wrapping paper on the floor xD. I was pretty lazy that day and focused on getting things adjusted. Once things were adjusted, I was helping my dads girly cook. So, I had an excuse not to pick up :griin:

But, it's so-so. My room's clean and the kitchen. Idunno bout the rest. Too lazy haha xD

Well usually every year it is much worse xD Since there really wasnt anything much for Christmas I asked for we only had a bit of wrapping paper on the floor. In the past years it has been terrible xD Alot the wrapping paper on the floor etc. The room became messy however like usual xD. As for Christmas dinner on the 24th Just a little dessert fell. The 24th was more of a mess. Cousins are crazy etc. The left all their christmas toys all over the floor >.< Those 2 little girls are big troublemakers XD. My little brother acting all crazy with the wrappings along with the 2 cousins -__- Yeah the 24th was overall worse xD But it always is as half the family is there >.>

The aftermath of Christmas usually looks like a pack of dogs just destroyed everything in sight. The paper is always everywhere.

Though this year will be fewer presents, so it shouldn't be too bad. Unless Lil Broski does start burning trees. Then we have a small problem.
