Sleep

I love to sleep, but I rarely get a chance to sleep more than 7 hours on any given night. I'm usually in bed around 11pm-midnight, and I'm up by 4:30am-5:00am depending on what time I have to be at work. Usually I have to be there by 7, but it takes me almost an hour to get there with traffic.

Sometimes I can get a nap in which really refreshes me. I always look forward to those.

I feel like sleep is temporary death, so I'm not a big fan of it. I like to dream though. I'm pretty good at that.

I sleep too much therefore constantly feel like shite. Could sleep 12 hours easily if I wanted to if not more. I think my record is 16 hours when I came back from a festival where I got like 3 hours sleep over the course of the weekend.

I love to sleep; however, I usually have a very difficult time falling to sleep. Staying awake I don't have much problems with, but it's the getting there that's tough. I'm actually on medication for it, which sucks because it has some pretty negative side effects. Aside from that, my sleep schedule has changed dramatically in the last 4 weeks. Having become a student teacher, I went from waking up at about 9 or 10 am to 6 am...6:30 at the latest in order to get to school on time. And from then, I try to stay awake until at least 10:00 PM before I go to bed. That'll give me a good 6 hours if I fall asleep by midnight (if I'm lucky), although I don't usually feel very rested.

I wish I didn't have so much trouble falling to sleep. It really does take a toll on your body, especially when you have to be alert and on time for things. The only time I get to sleep in is on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

I love sleep. To me, its better than chocolate, alcohol, or shopping :gasp: I usually need about 9 hours per night to make it from day-to-day or I'm tired all day and all I can think about is coming home and putting my pj's on and relaxing.

If I've had a long/stressful week school or work wise...on my weekends off I can easily do 12 hours a night. In fact, I think I just beat my all time record last weekend by sleeping 13 1/2 hours Friday night into Saturday morning. I couldn't believe it :gasp:

I love sleeping but im fucking terrible at it.
Work nights i tend to get around 6-7 hours sleep but i never ever sleep all the way thru. Im up 4 or five times to get a drink or something ridiculous. Weekends i tend to stay in bed longer though it depends on what i did the night before. I cant lie in bed when im hungover. Il be up at 6-7am which is the time i get up for work thru the week, except thru the week im going to bed after 11 instead of after 3am.
Without any alcohol in my system though i could quite easily lie in til 10-11 ish Again though il still wake up multiple times thru the night.
The getting up early doenst bother me, im used to it. Anyway, when your up early at the weekends your day feels a lot longer. Im in no hurry to get back to work so im fine with the days taking their time. The waking up thru the nite though does my absolute head in but ive been like this for years so i suppose it is the normal. Thers just days when i get up for work and im exhausted from restless sleep. HAve to peel myself out of bed.

I looove sleeep!!!
but only in moderation, I will not sleep in because i feel its a waste of my day, I've heard of people going to bed at like 11pm then waking up at 5pm the next day and this is a few times a week... wtf how can you do that? :(

So long as I get at least 7 hours of sleep (6 being the absolute lowest I'll go) then I'm happy, any lower and I wake up a grumpy old sod!

Sleep is my best friend :ryan: Well, when I can actually sleep :rage: Lately, I have not been getting a good nights rest even when I try to go to sleep earlier then I normally do. Sometimes I can't sleep due to stress or if im overthinking about something which, tends to be the case.

On the weekdays, it varies. Last night, I got about 6 hours and the two nights before I got about 7ish or 8 hours. If I didn't get much sleep, I try napping. Which is weird... when I nap, it's much easier and quicker to fall asleep.

I try to make up on the weekends but, it never ends up in my favor >_< I go to sleep, plan on sleeping in and something ALWAYS disturbs my beauty sleep. Tis quite annoying actually.

This thread has my name all over it, because I am kinda obsessed about "Sleep", my favourite letter of the alphabet being "Z" and all. xP

It isn't so much that I sleep multiple times a day, because I don't, or that they are usually inordinately long sleeps, but a love of the state of sleeping in general. :gasp:

In short, when there is a video game I am interested in, a bunch of various status effects that may be inflicted, I will actually get setback a little if Sleep isn't one of them, because I like to be able to inflict sleep on the monsters I face in the game. Weird, right? :wacky: But true.

I actually took these Final Fantasy game screenshots with my digital camera:

I rarely get enough sleep.

I hate sleeping because it's unproductive. I have so many things to do and sleeping just wastes time.

But I obviously take some time out of my day to do it so I don't burn out. XD

I love sleep when it does come. Such peace, but then when I wake up I feel terrible because I've not had enough of it. =/

I could go to bed early some nights but choose not to because the last thing I want to do is come home from work, eat dinner and then go to bed and wake up for yet another day of work. I want to make my day last a bit longer. >.<

I usually go to bed on weeknights and weekends around 11-12pm. No later than that usually.

Workdays I get up at 6:30am. So I woul have only had 7 hours sleep at the most on worknights.

Weekends I sleep in for as long as I want. XD But usually midday is the absolute latest I will stay in bed for. Hate wasting the day.

I can sleep for absolutely ages, I went to bed at about 11PM the day I travelled down to uni and didn't get up until 11AM the next day, sometimes I just deliberately go to sleep during the morning anyway because I cba to get up knowing there's nothing to do. That said, I don't like sleeping a long time since too much sleep is just as bad as not enough since it isn't 'quality' sleep so a lot of the I just get up as soon as I wake up.

I think sleeping is a nuisance. It takes too much time to feel rested. I mean, it's eight hours that I could have to be doing something else. I sometimes sit and think about all the things I could be good at if I didn't have to sleep. Of course, the time I spend thinking about those things is also time I could be putting to better use. :hmmm:

I'm good at wasting time. :dave:

I usually try to maintain a consistent 7 hour sleep time.

In fact, it's seem to have become a habit for me to sleep for an exact 7 hours. Which is kind of convenient, since alarm clocks never worked their magic with me. That aside, it's also apparently called an 'optimal amount' in some newspaper article that conducted a research on the amount of time people sleep and it's effects on health.

Regarding the times I sleep...

That really depends on my mood. Sometimes, I just don't feel like sleeping early, so I stay up for the sake of not sleeping. Otherwise, it's that I find the next day is going to be sucky, so I stay up to make the most of the day before the sucky day. Kinda silly though -- I would be like some living dead the next day.

the amount of sleep that we need just to be able to function is quite ridiculous.

This. Sleep has become a luxury more than it is a necessity. It just takes too long for the body to fully recharge.

I've been running on 5-6 hours of sleep since last year. I love weekends, but there's just not enough time to enjoy sleep without wasting half the day. I'd like to go out or do things I can't do during weekdays. :rage:

Yep, sleep is awesome! Unfortunately I have trouble falling asleep. It doesn't matter when I get up, if I'm not sleepy I can't fall asleep. As a result of this I usually get about 5 hours of sleep a night.
