There are a lot of these at the moment: we already have the God of War and Prince of Persia HD collections, with ICO/Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders collections on the horizon.

So, my question is this: which PS2/PSP games would you like to see made into an HD collection on the PS3 in the future, and why?

Here are a few I would absolutely love to see:

Disgaea 1/2 - They've already been released on the PSP, but packing the first two Disgae games together with the Disgaea 4 updated sprites would be awesome beyond belief. Being able to transfer saved character data, and utilise some of Disgaea 4's new features in the old games (well, mostly the original, which is still the best one) would be fantastic as well.

Drakengard 1/2 - One thing I am really craving right now is a decent game that lets you fight on the back of a dragon. Drakengard is one of those sadly overlooked games that actually combines decent air-based combat with ground-based combat. Some remastered cutscenes would be delightful, especially given how thoroughly disturbing some of them are. The second game is included just for the sake of it really - Drakengard 2 was good, but it lacked the insanity of the original. Perhaps they could include a little more content - like, the stuff Japan actually got - to explain NieR a little better as well?

Ar Tonelico 1/2 - Well, since Ar Tonelico Qoga is out, I'd like to see the first two parts of the trilogy brought out. The Ar Tonelico PS2 games are damned near impossible to find and murderously expensive besides, so it'd be nice to have them conveniently packaged in one for the PS3. Not to mention Qoga makes little-to-no-sense by itself...

Valkyrie Profile Lenneth/Silmeria - Silmeria in particular is one of the most stunning games on the PS2, it wouldn't take much to bring it to PS3. Lenneth, again, included for completeness more than anything else.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 - I'd like the International version of X-2...not to mention getting some trophies for killing the game's hardest bosses (WITHOUT cheating by using Zanmato, as well) would be nice...even though I'm not a trophy whore, I'd probably be motivated to do it. Probably.

Final Fantasy XII - The International version, with the Zodiac Job Board system, naturally. Like Silmeria, FFXII looks absolutely fantastic, so remastering it in HD for PS3 would only make it look better...and, given that its my favourite FF game, I'd love an excuse to play it again. Revenant Wings is highly unlikely, given its on the DS, but...I'd take what I could get. xD

My ps3 HD collections would be

FFX/X-2. good story would look great in HD.

KH 1/2/chain of memories ps version, would have a great trophy feature and would look awesome on ps3 HD and COM would be remastered 2x lol.

Tales games HD Ps3 Collection

FF dissidia 1/2 would look awesome

PS3 HD Collection

The games that I want to have an HD Collection are as follows:

Resident Evil: Director‘s Cut, 2 & 3 - This classic horror game series is extremely famous and fans would love to play them on HD. I think it is a great idea for the Resident Evil series to have a HD Collection of it’s own.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth/Silmeria - This is one of the best and one of the most lovable RPG series out there. This series definitely needs to have a HD Collection.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope - Another great RPG game. This also needs to have a HD Collection. I think that the fans would love to play this game in HD. It’s a popular game and the fans are willing to buy the HD Collection to experience a new gameplay.

Those are all the games that I have in mind for now. I will update the list when more interesting games comes through my mind.

+ A Level-5 collection - Basically it will be Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicles (Dark Cloud 2 for you non-European people) and Rogue Galaxy remastered and in one box. I know they look gorgeous already with cel-shaded visuals and that a graphical update wouldn't be that significant, but considering I haven't got Dark Cloud or Chronicles, I would rather have them all on the PS3 and updated perhaps with any content that we may have missed out. Oh, and trophies if need be. Level-5 should forget about the White Knight Chronicles games and focus again on gorgeous cel-shaded games like these.

+ Tales - That would basically be the PS2 ones, so Legendia and Abyss. It's about time that Europe receives them (damn you all for ignoring us back then!) and what better way to do that than to remaster them for the PS3? Oooookay yes, I know Abyss will be out for the 3DS, but frankly I would rather have more Tales love on the PS3, even if Legendia is reportedly pretty crap from what I've heard. Oh, and while we're here, how about some of the other Japan-only PS2 Tales games that we've never seen, like the uhh, Tales of Destiny remake? That would be an awesome addition.

+ Star Wars Battlefront - Battlefront 1 and 2 were frankly, excellent third person shooters, two of the best games on the PS2 and two of my absolute favourites, so I'd love to see them remastered for the PS3 even if I've already played them. I suppose one of the PSP installments or two could be included, though strangely I've never touched them.

+ Valkyrie Profile - Yup, Lenneth and Silmeria, though I can't imagine how "remastered" Lenneth can be, but Silmeria, certainly. I love them both, but to this day I'm still put off by what was essentially a time period in Lenneth's gameplay ticking down with each action you do. Silmeria's excellent, definitely one of the best JRPGs on the PS2, and if I can see the big Valkyrie VS Lezard climatic fight in HD, I would totally explode from fangirl bliss.

+ Grand Theft Auto - Ah, what the heck. I'm not the biggest fan of the GTA games at all, but even I wouldn't mind seeing GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas touched up a bit graphically, especially Vice City.

+ TimeSplitters - Oh dear me, I spent so many hours on TimeSplitters 2 that I'd love to do it all again on the PS3. I'm not the biggest FPS enthusiast at all, but the TimeSplitters games were a lot of fun, certainly genre-defining at the time and I'm left wondering whatever the heck happened with the vapourware still that is TimeSplitters 4. If they are to do a 4th game, what better chance to remaster the previous three ones? :awesome:

FFX would be nice. And trophies added would probably serve as the drive I needed to actually get me into them long off sidequests. Blitzball would most likely be pushing it however. X-2 would be nice too, and XII. Same reasons as listed above.

Both Dissidias, see above.

The Simpsons Road Rage. I know, it was gimicky, but unlike The Simpsons Game which was absolute pants, I actually rather enjoyed its quirky humour, the referrences, and just how retarded it was as a whole. And the character rooster was pretty sweet.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex was soooo fun. Loved it, even if it was same-ish as they did before.

Tekken Tag. Talk about a game to introduce the name to that gen of consoles. I spent soo many hours playing that, and the graphics were brilliant for the time.

Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks. Considering how bad adventures games that are spin offs of fighting games are, Shaolin Monks was pretty fun. And the voice acting and dialogue was so bad yet so great for laughs. The gameplay and development was pretty awesome too.

I think for me, It would be nice to see -

Mortal Kombat HD Collection - [Deadly Alliance - Armageddon] - if you've seen the Trilogy Collection for the PS2, which contains Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon, then why not release that same collection for the PS3. Although, if it has to be strictly 2 games, then it would just be Deception and Armageddon.

And what Livi said,

Level 5 Games - Dark Cloud and Rogue Galaxy.

Star Ocean 3 + Dragonquest VIII
- this would a GREAT ASS release. I love SO3, and I love Dragonquest VIII even more. :gonk:

A Ratchet & Clank Collection - :hmmm: This is a hard one, but if I were to choose, I would say The Original and Up Your Arsenal

Jak & Daxter Collection
- Since there are only 3, why not release all of them for the Ps3

We already have HD collections from SCE and Konami.

I would like to see some HD collections from capcom,Square,Rockstar ect.

RE-CV,RE4
FFX,FFX-2,FFXll.
Grand Theft Auto 3,VC,SA.
Ratchet and Clank 1,2,3.
Fatal Frame 2 and 3.
Gran Turismo 3 and 4.

<hgroup> Sony: We'll do HD remakes where there's 'demand', 'a sense of franchise'

But to repurpose whole library would be "negative", says European boss

</hgroup>Sony will choose to release more PS3 HD collections if there's "significant demand" and "a sense of franchise," SCE Europe boss Andrew House has told CVG.
HD collections seemed to be a theme of this year's E3, with Konami announcing Metal Gear Solid, Zone of the Enders and Silent Hill updates, and even Microsoft getting in on the action with Halo Combat Evolved: Anniversary.

But according to the SCEE president, to repurpose titles across the whole PlayStation library would be "a negative trend", and it has to consider its candidates based on specific criteria.

"Clearly there's a consumer demand for [HD updates], but what we've done is to say, 'we'll do this where it's appropriate, where there is a sense of a franchise with multiple titles that are associated with it, and where we've heard from consumers that there's significant demand'," he told CVG's E3 team in LA.

"But I don't think we're in the business of repurposing content across the whole library because yes, I think that would be a negative trend and I think would be received negatively also."

In the same interview, House stated that Sony views a decade as the minimum lifespan of the PlayStation 3.

I'd quite like to see the Spyro series - that's 1, Gateway to Glimmer, and Year of the Dragon - in one of these HD packages. These were my favourite games as a kid and, having replayed them recently, I still believe they are worthy of a lot of credit. They're fun, there's so much to do, the story is simple yet works well and contains the right amount of plot twists for the target audience. The world is extremely colourful and varied, with enough levels and area-types to make it a varied experience. The game's main plot forces you to undertake all of the side-quests, which is actually a good thing as the game has so much to offer, it would be a shame to bypass those in more obscure areas.

Bring poor old Spyro back. Let the current generation see what he was in the days of glory when the franchise wasn't about a scary-gaunt looking-creepy-doll-eyed-lizard. ;)

By the by, what is the Sly series like? That's up for sale in HD and looks rather good, but I wouldn't mind hearing what those who have played the series think of it!

Jak & Daxter
- Loved the games way more than Ratchet & Clank.

Zone of the Enders
- I loved the second game although it was way too short.

FFX,FFX-2 & FFXII
- its obvious.

Onimusha
- I spend so much time in those games except the second game which has a different cast.

Silent Hill & Rogue Galaxy would be ace, but shell shaded HD huh? :hmmm:

My HD collections thats allready happened are the DBZ Budokai Series, I really enjoyed them on the ps2 so being able to play them again took me back to how DBz games used to be. Jak & Daxter HD collection couldnt have came at a better time too I been dreading another jak game actually. DMC HD collection just being able to play DMC 3 again was the main reason i got it since thats my favorite one and will always be my favorite. Some others im hoping to see happen are

Any Tales Of ... games, more specifically Tales of Legendia or abyss, abyss more than anything just because I would give anything to take on the Professor Gelda Nebilim again on Hard difficulty since thats the hrdest fight Ive ever done on any game. its been awhile So I wanna see If i can do some things on it that I didnt before. I also would want them to add voice over for the skits this time too :P

Xenosaga - For the longest time Ive always said I would buy it in a heartbeat if they ever did an hd collection or even just rebooted the series. Its one of te best games Ive played next to the tales series, plus I would love having some challenges added to the game to make it more interesting.

Naruto Ultimate ninja HD collection Idc about 1 and 2 just as long as they include 3 in it will make this a must have for me. this was the only time the 4 sound ninja and their cursed seal marked transformations, anko mitarishi, hana and shizune where all playable in the same game. I really wish they would come back for the storm series but they dont even get added as support. Really have high hops that they still make tis happen one day.

I would love to see an HD Re-release of the Resident Evil: Outbreak series, I feel it would be amazing for online play on this current gen and honestly is a missed idea.

Other than that ever franchise I loved from PS2 has been remade into HD so I cant complain haha

I would say the Oddworld games but they have already been redone in HD, and Abe's Oddysee is even being remade completely which is excellent. I have been replaying it recently and I forgot how unforgiving the later parts can be.

I quite enjoyed the Kingdom Hearts games for the PS2 so a HD release of them would be quite nice I guess, though I am not sure they need one tbh. Any others I can think of are being remade or have been remade already.

Theres a few id like to see. I have a good TV and i have it set up in a special way that outputs a very high quality picture for ps2 games. But none the less there are some games id love to see put in HD graphics. Id like to have trophy support and maybe even some extra features added in too. Side quests, weapons etc

Kingdom hearts 1 and 2. I know theyre remaking 1 and uhh chain of memories or whatever its called but for me personally thats just not good enough. No one really cares about KHCoM. they should be remaking the 2 main games in the series.

The Onimusha series - 4 absolutely amazing games by capcom on the ps2. The first 3 games have the mechanics of the original resident evil games but with the faster paced sword action of devil may cry. To top it off its set in Feudal japan. :ryan: The 4th game dawn of dreams is the best in the shole series imo. It changes a little in that its not fixed camera angles but the camera sits behind the character but this game kicked so much arse. Visually they still look great but id love to see them in HD and with stuff like trophies and maybe some added content :ryan:

Dragon Quest 8 - just because its an amazing games. the cel shaded graphics still look great today but id like to see this remade in HD and see them add in a tonne of extra stuff. Loads more sidequest. More stuff to do in the monster Arena, more monsters to catch. More alchemy recipes and just lots and lots more. Id like to see a settings menu actually where i could up the battle speed and text speed etc. Thats a small thing but its something thats bothers me a little. Amazing game.

Grand theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas. The latter 2 are the best GTA games ever made. Graphically they are a bit shite so itd be great to see them in all HD glory. They could add more things into the game in the way of collectibles. Add more songs to the radio, more cars and other vehicles. More sidequests too. Would be cool if Tommy could swim in Vice city. Was always annoying when you drowned in a swimming pool ¬_¬
San Andreas allowed you to do pretty much anything you wanted. Although the story sucks compared to Vice City with all the stuff you can do in the game like parachuting and flying fighter jets, shaggin hookers and dominating the casinos its just fantastic. All it needs is put into HD and itl be almost perfect.

Hmmmm what other games :hmmm:
Ohhhhhhh the Legacy of Kain games. This is seriously one of the most interesting series of games ever made. Vampires, Demons, time travel and the consequences that comes with changing the past, paradoxes. The best thing would be if they added another game to the series. These games pretty much have the best voice acting theres ever been. Tony Jay sadly died a few years back but id love it if they put aside theyre petty differences and made another game. For those who dont know theres been 5 games. They split into 2 series the Blood omen series and the Soul Reaver series. Both series of games though are connected story wise you just play as a different character. Both characters though are in every game bar Raziel from Soul Reaver who isnt in the early games. Well he is and hes not, its confusing. Would love to see a collection come out for these games in HD. One of my favourite series of games ever. By far the most interesting and it really makes you think about whats happening. Your left unraveling mysteries as the present changes due to your actions in the past. Ive always loved the idea of time travel and this game does it really well. Its also back before vampires were pretty boys. Back when they were brutal killers with no remorse and no guilt. just straight up butchering people in many different and deadly ways.
