I just heard about this game earlier today (well techincally yesterday) and saw a trailer on PSN and watched it. It's apparantly going to come out on the PS3 early in 2010.
It's a detective / murder thriller made by Quantic Dream, the same guys behind Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in the US and was on the PS2).
I'm not sure how many of you played Fahrenheit and how many of you enjoyed it.. It played a lot like a movie except you were in control of the outcomes, could move the characters etc.. But most things within what would be called cutscenes were controller by the player. The path of the detectives and murderer (you played both sides) were decided by the actions and the words you chose to say.
It gave you control over several different perspectives. Two cops and the murderer, and I think it might have included one other as well but I can't remember.
Fahrenheit was one of those games that I never owned but really interested me when I played it at a friends, and I loved the story of it. It was a real thriller.
This new game, Heavy Rain, seems to be done in similar style.. It also has the player controlling most of the game, and the cutscenes and what is said (though not all cutscenes are controlled, mainly just conversation at key points). The story seems to be thrilling as well but it is not clear yet from the trailers.
It also appears to have several characters that you control at different parts of the game, including a detecitve, an FBI agent, and a woman (not sure who this woman is).
Has anyone else heard of this game? If so, is anyone else excited about it?
Here is a trailer on youtube I just found (different to the one on PSN):
And a gameplay portion showing one of the scenes:
