This thread is for you to share with the rest of the forum how much exercise you do a day/week.

Are you fairly active and play sports etc or do you just sit around and do nothing and are you happy with this or want to change?

I used to be a fairly active person, I used to go to the gym X3 times a week every week, I felt good and it helped me get to sleep better. Then my gym member ship ran out and suddenly I decided to slack off.

Now I am a lazy slob and don't do too much exercise. Perhaps once a week I will go for a walk.

I am trying to change this however and am starting to go to the gym again. This week I plan on going to the gym at least 4 times. I also just finished a lovely lunch time walk around the river :ryan:

Now you :monster:

I'm starting to change. I'm tired of being fat. :sad3:

Now I exercise all week with some rest days. I walk, I jog, I'm trying to build my stamina so I can run/jog for longer distances and I'm lifting weights. I'm eating less and trying to eat healthier so hopefully I see results in a couple months or so. Now I can run nearly half of the neighborhood so there's definitely progress in the distance I run. :hmmm:

I used to run competitively a few years back, and even since dropping that I've attempted to stay in shape by running 4-5 miles most mornings and using the gym, especially in winter. Having said that, this last year, I really haven't kept to that at all, I'm becoming increasingly lazy all the time. It's something that I'd really like to improve on, but nowadays I find it quite hard to motivate myself :hmmm: Maybe I'll use summer as an opportunity for that, though I suspect it'll be something I'll pick up for a week, before getting lazy, since I'm pretty bad at sticking to routines :argh:

The intention is alwyas there, but the most exercise I get is walking to work and thats only round the corner. Sitting in an office all day doesnt really help either, im probably more inactive than some of the really fat people you see about. I'm just lucky I have good genes and Im still quite slim

Ive never had the motivation or even wanted to if im honest, to want to exercise in the house. Fuck that. Id rather go out for a run (which i did manage for a while) but I just dont have the time. Its not like I can take Ellie to the gym with me (which I also hate, i cant motivate myself to get on a treadmill and run on the spot - I need to feel like im going somewhere) and I certainly cant take her on a run or a bike ride - she's 6 and I dont finish work til 5. After Ive got her home we're both knackered

So thats my rather rubbish excuse for being a lazy twat

I eat and eat and eat, and stay skinny. I don't work out at all, but I do play basketball 5 times a week. It's good exercise running around the court, and I love playing it.

i play football three times a week or so, for about an hour at a time and i walk most places i go. i've got a fairly active job too which helps somewhat.
i move in two weeks time though, so i'll have to give that up unfortunately. none of my friends i'm moving with are football fans so hopefully i'll be able to find people to play with when i get there otherwise i'm going to become a fat bastard. :hmph:

I hate the gym too. I had a gym membership for a while but I ended up cancelling it because I never went. I just find running on a treadmill to be so boring. At least if I'm running outside, there's scenery to look at. I'd rather just run around the trail at the park.

Exercising at home is the same. We have a stationary bike but I had a hard time using that as well because just sitting in place is dull. I've gotten more into using it now that we moved though. There's no sidewalks where we live and you're likely to get hit by a truck or something walking on the side of the road.

I try to work out for at least an hour every day now. I'm unemployed right now so I really have no excuse not to anymore. :dave:

Until very recently, I didn't do too much. I'd sometimes to go to the gym during Uni term time and I'd walk about 20 minutes to get into Uni and back twice a week. For nearly five years, I've mostly packed out products at work. Little exercise, but it does some good.

Now I go swimming twice a week. It was originally because I wanted to lose weight for my holiday, but I'm going to be making it a regular thing. To coincide with the exercise, I've dramatically cut down on the food I eat. I eat much more than I should and it's a good thing that the food can be saved.

I typically jog 3 miles each morning with the exception of weekends. Also, I do a series of light workout exercises each evening. Nothing intense. Just a series of abdominal exercises, push-ups, and chin-ups.

I'd like to get into a decent weight lifting routine, but I detest the gym. I hate being around a bunch of people when I exercise. Working out is something I'd prefer to do in private.

I mainly do long bike ride trips on trails and cardio workouts to my favorite music. It barely seems like "exercising", since it's actually pretty fun. I also love to swim, so whenever I get the chance I work on strokes and what not.

?

Ahahaha i did exactly the same thing. 3 months of goin to the gym 2-3 times a week then the membership ran out and it never got renewed.
Im on my feet 10 hours a day at work which trust me is alot of excersise when your in a fab shop. I used to do my weights daily but i cant remember the last time i actually did proper consistent sessions with them. Its been ages. Ive been debating re joining a differnt gym. I just wish there was one close to my house but theyre all far away. Thats the main thing putting me off really.

Never went to a gym, don't think I ever will. :hmmm: If I do any sort of exercise, I either take long walks outside (1-2 hours) or watch programs on XFINITY so I won't have to leave the comfort of home. :ryan: Lately though, I only exercise so that I can improve flexibility and stamina (especially since I'm learning how to fire dance. Both of those would be great to have in a good amount. :gasp:) - so I mainly rely on pilates (which I do in the morning), and once in a blue moon I may do yoga - if I feel up to it. I can only handle so much time on certain moves. :gonk: My folks actually hate that I exercise, considering how skinny I am already, but that's not my main focus - unlike what some would believe . :wacky:

Nah, not at all lately anymore. There were a few years were I was really in to sports, but after I finished school and started the job I am at now, I really didn't do anything anymore, that's been like 4 years now.

I could lose a few pounds, but it's not like I'm heavily overweight, so it doesn't bother me much. I have no problem running, so apparently my stamina is fine still, however that's possible.

I go for long walks around my local cities. Thats how i get most of my excerise. I've never been to gym and i doubt i will tbh. Im not a big fan lol xx

in my head im an athlete.

in reality i am a big fat cunt.

i walk quite a bit and sometimes do weights (but i eat all that away). thats about it.

I've put myself on a more rigorous strength training program so when I join German Longsword classes, I'll be able to swing that sword good and fast.

But, it's hard to stay on a steady routine. I keep forgetting which day I should rest and which day I should exercise. :|

I'm skinny. I think too skinny. I go from 110 pounds to a 116. I used to be really really active. I'm talking about biking, skating, running, all of it. But then in about 2009 I stopped doing that stuff for personal reasons in my family that I don't like talking of.

I love the idea of staying active, so it really angers me to not be able to. That said, I want to work up some strength in my muscles. I'm already thin so I just need some strength now. Not talking about guy strength I'm talking about tonnage on my legs and arms. :hmmm:

I'm hoping to get a boat again so I can pick up swimming again. :ryan: I'm walking/sprinting now so that's about it. :lew:

I tend to do quite a lot of sport.

Normally I do 5aside three times a week but sometimes it's 2 or 4 depending on who we have available to play, then I do swimming on a Saturday or Sunday and the odd game of tennis on the weekend. Then I do the gym 3 times a week which is normally increased to 4 or 5 times at uni. Exercise ♥

I was normally a very inactive person, but I decided to start this routine called Couch to 5k that is supposed to get you ready to run a 5k. There are nine weeks in this routine and I'm on the third week. It seems to have worked for two of my friends, so I decided to try it out, too. I'm planning on adding a few more complex activities to my weekly workouts. I'm going to start trying to do 55 pushups and a set of sit-ups everyday, too.

I really want to try learning another martial art (other than Taekwando). That'll get me some exercise....
