Do you crack your knuckles?

Did anyone else crack their knuckles when they read the thread title? :wacky:

I crack them every so often, though I used to do it way more back in high school. I got the whole speech about arthritis too but even then, it didn't perturb or even slow me down. Now that I'm a bit older and wiser, I've begun to think rationally about how I really would like to be able to grip things when I'm old and withered (besides my penis).

I did, yeah. :D

I don't crack my knuckles a lot really. I do it occassionally, often without really thinking about it, but I don't do often do it deliberately, and I don't think I've really done it in front of people a lot. Not that I wouldn't, I just don't think I ever thought about it, though I probably have done.

I used to crack my knees more often than my knuckles when I was younger. :hmmm: That made a louder sound and I found it quite fun, though now it makes me cringe.

I'm glad it doesn't cause serious problems though, as most people would have serious issues when they get older because of this as a lot of people did this or something similar.

I've always been told that cracking knuckles can lead to arthritis as well. It never really bothered me that much because I never crack my knuckles. I have tried to - I just can't make any crack at all. Maybe my hands are special or I'm not doing it right - I don't really know.

My brother does crack his knuckles very frequently. He does it to me awfully loudly that it simply irritates me rather than disgust me. I was half-hoping he would get arthritis though. :8F:

Well people, it looks like my grip will be awesome then later in my life! :awesome:

Yep I crack my knuckles, my neck and my back sometimes, for the same reasons mentioned in the first article, it does help to get rid of some of that tension and helps you losen up when you do.

Bout time they dismissed this old wives tale really.

I didn't stop doing if for the forementioned arthritis, i stopped because it can weaken my grip. I need to be able to grip to do anything really, everyday things to manual labor. That and most importantly, i wouldn't be able to play games due to the need to grip the controller.

I hate it when people do that anyway lol ugh it doesn't sound right! And I can imagine that in the long run it would cause complications for your hands, so not a good idea. I used to know someone who would constantly do it with their neck, omg it got annoying and I kept getting worried and thinking, "Shit, if you keep doing that, you might dislocate your neck or something" lol

I can't do it, it grosses me out for some reason  My husband does it all the time though, and I'd been warning him against it for a while because I had heard negative things. But damn, now all I'm going to hear is popping noises :banghead:

Oh yeah. I do it so often, everyone's always annoyed at me. :wacky:

I also crack my toes, back, and elbows sometimes. I had heard about it causing arthritis, but I never was really that worried about it, so I just kept doing it. Although when that one book came out (I can't recall the name now), it mentioned that cracking your knuckles won't cause arthritis. So I do it extremely often.

I hate this with a passion.

My boyfriend does it.

It's not that it's gross or disgusting, or just annoying. But it's just that it's so friggin' gross, disgusting, and annoying. o_O I mean... I don't say ew alot, but. :gonk:

I don't/can't/won't/will not ever do it. o_O

Blegh.

I do crack my knuckles-- not so much now, but I use to do it alot. When I think about cracking my knuckles it usually ends up in me cracking them xD. I was also told that it would cause arthritis but now, I know :griin: I never had a reason as to why I crack them i just do :wacky: and it became a habit. Not so much now, but reading this makes me wanna crack them xD

>.> must resist xD

I used to alot too and just recently, for some reason, I havent been. Its a bad habit

I used to crack my knuckles more often in years past, I just occasionally do it now, because I know it isn't good for my knuckles to keep cracking them (I usually use the word "snap" rather than crack, whether it's proper or not), but I can't help but do it every now and then.

Funny thing about this thread making me want to snap my knuckles when I read about doing so. xD

I don't like it, but I find that once every now and then that I will crack my knuckles.

It feels yucky and I always think I'm going to give myself arthritis when I do it.

The worst is my toes. Sometimes they feel really stiff, and feel like they really need to be cracked, but I can never crack them and then they end up just being even stiffer. <_<

I don't remember if I have ever cracked my knuckles deliberately. It doesn't particularly bother me when other people do it, but on the other hand I don't know many people who do it regularly. I heard about the whole gas thing quite some time ago. But I've always assumed that cracking your knuckles was bad for you so it was interesting to read that it isn't =/

I'm appalling when it comes to knuckle cracking, I do it all the time, there's no way I'd be able to stop now, Ive done it since I was about 8 or 9 and my fingers feel stiff if I need to crack them and I don't for whatever reason. It's not jut my knuckles either, its my wrists, elbows, knees, back and toes I do on a regular basis

I alrady knew it didnt cause arthritis, taht it was some bubbles popping making the noise, I read it somewhere aaaages ago and Ive always said that to people to shut them up

Tbh, that article doesnt worry me about losing my grip, if it happens it's my own tough shit

All the time. I do it with every finger, cant help it. Ive done it ever since i was a kidand its a habit ive not gotten out of. Funnily enough i remember hearing kelly doing it and i was like ow that sounds sore. I dont really like hearing other people do it even though i do it regularly myself xD

I don't. The only time my knuckles crack is when I have my hand bent a certain way and usually I do that by accident. It sounds nasty, like your bones are breaking or something. I know a few people who does this and it creeps me out.D:

Personally, no. I don't. I never really want to, I always fear I'll get arthritis from it. Also I don't like psychical pain so maybe that's why I don't do it. It bugs me when other people do it, I hate the noise of it and it's almost like scratching a chalkboard...

I do. Usually first thing in the morning but I'm not obsessive with it.

If I pick up my guitar and haven't cracked them in a while I can barely play. Crack them and I'm fine.
