Wolves of the Sea - Alestorm

Scottish Pirate Metal. I don't know whether I should be amused, terrified, or horrified...I'm a mixture of the three, I guess. But I absolutely LOVE the chorus. It's the kind of song I just get an overwhelming urge to sing along to...even if I'm not overly keen on it. xD

 
Sacred Spirit -- Yeha Noha

The man singing is (Late) Navajo Kee Chee Jake from Chinle, Arizona. Sacred Spirit is a German project. This song was actually released in 1994, and was a big hit in America. It topped number one in France.

I was surprised my father knew about it, he said his neighbors played it in California all the time. That's really cool xD

This is actually my favorite, because it has such a light-hearted tone, Kee Chee Jake's lulling voice, the sounds of nature...its a very beautiful song, I'm glad I came across those years ago and I'm glad that the video (I've been pimping xD) has finally gotten so many views! :33

The song is actually a Navajo Shoe Game song, a story about a Giant's (the word for giant is "Yé'iitsoh") lament because a owl tries to cheat and steal the ball.

ABBA - Voulez-Vous

ABBA can always get me in a great mood and it may have cured me of my funny mood a while back. This is such a laidback song and it's great to kick back and listen to. I love the part in the chorus when they're all singing together. The harmonies are great and the production of this makes it a fantastic party song.

I'm really not sure what I'm hearing other than the fact that this is probably destroying my ears. I keep hearing pieces of "Through the Fire and the Flames" here and there but really, it's just kinda...trippy.
 
I was listening to Lady Gaga's Viva La Vida cover, but now it's moved on to Blinding, Florence And The Machine.

I adore Blinding, it's such a haunting song. It puts me in mind of maenads.
 
Rachael Starr- To Forever (Moonbeam Remix)


This song is something else...so full of meaning and emotion. Rachael Starr has an amazing voice. I'm also loving the slight static effects throughout. Another love song, but one that is done very well.

Oddly enough I was just listening to Alestorm...


Keehauled.

The first song I heard from them, and interestingly enough; it was on a local station here. The US doesn't get much in the way of european metal on its airwaves. Still, its one of my favorites by them. Also worth checking out for anyone interested is "No Quarter". 2:12 has a rather epic (and familiar) solo thrown in.

Regarding "Wolves of the Sea"; it was originally done in Eurovision.

I swear contestants (Terasbetoni especially) have gotten weirder since Lordi showed up back in 2006...

I love this song. It has such an amazing beat and the lyrics will completely suck you in. This is an older song...but I'll never get sick of it. I'm so glad I own it because I never really hear it on the radio anymore.


 
Leona Lewis - Alive

This is such a beautiful song and it's a shame it was one of those that couldn't be released as a single. I love it because I can relate to the lyrics and the theme of survival. Leona's voice has progressed so far since she won X Factor over four years ago. This is one of the standout songs from Echo and it just makes me shocked how far she can push herself vocally.

Mt Eden Dubstep - Beautiful Lies


The first drop seemed kind of crap at first but as it goes on for the rest of the song, and mixed with the vocals, it gets pretty good. I think I'm going back to my dubstep phase. :sad3:

Ke$ha - The Harold Song

Anyone who says she can't sing should give this a listen. It's the first song I've heard that's so touching and actually just singing all the way through. She's got a pretty good voice and she uses it to the best of her ability in this. The lyrics are so sad and the production of this was put together very well. It's very, very touching.

This song is my newest addiction...its so lovely. The beat is great, theres piano in it but it blends perfectly...and the lyrics totally speak for themselves:

Girls Aloud - Jump

I'm in such a good mood right now and I really could jump for joy. It's such a fun song to listen to and even though it may not live up to the original, it's still good in its right. When they sing together, their harmonies are brilliant. The production of this is so upbeat and fantastic. The solos are particularly good, especially Nadine's.

Looooovee their sound :jess: /noms Sometimes their lyrics are a little odd and I can't completely identify with everything they sing about (hence the 9.5), but they're extremely pleasant to listen to, and there is plenty of it that I can feel. I also like the video's satirical statement on the creation of popular music videos :wacky:
 
Madonna - Frozen

This is such a wonderful classic and takes me right back to the 90's. Her voice is so captivating and the production of this is ever so soft and subtle. The lyrics are really deep and cut right through you. I'm not the biggest Madonna fan, but this is such a wonderful song that will still be remembered for years to come.

Demolition Lovers - My Chemical Romance(Click for Song)

From their first album which in my opinion is their best, music-wise. I love when Gerard does the screams, it brings more emotion tbh :hmmm:. But, the song itself is great, and even though there are hints of "bonnie and clyde", i feel the song has a much more deeper meaning than that, and that's why I love it even more. :ryan:

Groove Armada- History (Grum Remix)

I looove the beat and lyrics in this song...the feel is a little disco-y but I really like it. I haven't kept up with anything they've made since "I see you baby" but this is muchhh better. More serious, less for fun, and more thought put into the lyrics.

 
Vertigo - Marianas Trench

Amazing song! :ryan: So damn out there. I love Marianas lyrics, they're really good for listening to, (or screaming along) Oh yes. Love this band, love this song, not my favourite, but definitely close.
