I think it should. I think just as much thought and effort goes into spam than any other section, probably moreso.
The Spam section is the most active section, yet the people who post there aren't rewarded for keeping the site going.
Everyone seems to agree that post count is worthless, yet some sections have it and others don't. There are tonnes of posts in post count areas that are far worse than anything you'll see in spam.

If this happens then prepare for an increase +9000, and Jimbob will enter the Veterans Lounge.

It would be pretty hectic I think (not the Jimbob thing, as that would be awesome, but just spam having post count in general). Spam is spam, and while some posts in spam are lengthy or quality (to an extent), a lot are just single words, lol-words, or other spam things like a silly picture or a youtube clip.

If it post count doesnt matter, then who cares if it gets changed or not?

Im not really fussed tbh.

I think it's a good point. I don't see how people discussing how Cloud felt when Sephiroth turned Aeris into a satay stick is deserving of the the holy +1 post count any more than the spam posts. People generally just spam the 'what are you listening to' sort of threads anyway.

But post count isn't important to me anyway so I'm not bothered.

Post count isn't supposed to matter in the first place. If you're judging a member's posts based on how high that number is, you should probably rethink your priorities. It's only because of the 1000 post BS on this forum that people are even concerned about it.

I don't really care if the SPam section doesn't have post count.

Now, the clubs should have post count :mokken:

Get rid of the Vet Lounge?

yeah. then make an exclusive area which essentially just "no retards allowed".

i can give you a list of retards to deny access to as a starter :hmmm:

this is a very good plan busta. very creative. you brits are so smart ^_^

The Vets lounge isn't really that inactive... but I could live without it.

So if this is the case and post count shouldn't really matter...why create a topic about enabling post-counts in spam section? :busta:

People, we need to worry about making the fanclub section give post count :mokken:

Hmmm Interesting. But If it did have post count I would have like 3700 posts right now. Not that I care. Post count isnt a big deal after 1000. But good point. If we have spam posts that are like 3 lines long it should give plus 1.

The danger of giving post count to all spam is that normal threads might then suffer more, as there will be no justification to tell people to expand their posts. People could just say "I agree" or "lol" or "Cloud is the best" without giving reasons.

This could be combated by making it so that people posting in spam should make bigger posts, or posts of quality in spam, but then that isn't spam any longer, and then it also means that people no longer have a place to chill and not care about their posts.

Exactly, which is why it would be better just to remove the post count requirements entirely.
