Hey Guys,

Last Saturday we had a party and Shaun Barrowes music and his song "You're All My Reasons" was a cherry on the cake in our party. This is one of the best song from Shaun Barrowes which has been picked up and added to the "Just Stand Up" compilation.

Well, what is your party music?

The same as everyone elses, dance music.
Parties aren't really about the music, they're just places where drunk, stoned people get together and dance until the morning.

True, usually it doesn't matter what music is playing as long as my stupid drunk friends are dancing and singing along to it :wacky: It's more about the atmosphere than the music really.

Examples of great party music:

Daft Punk - Discovery (the whole album)
Anything by Basement Jaxx
LCD Soundsystem - Daft Punk Is Coming To My House
The B52s - Loveshack
Donna Summer - I Feel Love
Kool and the Gang - Celebration
Outkast - Hey Ya!

I usually listen to Scooter, Katy Perry, Chris Brown, Akon, Michael Jackson, Muse, McFly and Greenday for parties. Whenever I listen to these singers I can't help but dance

Welp. I enjoy pretty much the entire Club range. Dance, Trance, Techno and that sorta lark.

My Favourites are Scooter, Bassment Jax, Daft Punk, Ian Van Dahl, Cascada, and Basshunter.

Hmm... Do you mean what would I *like* for party music? Or what party music I *have* to have, as it being a legal requirement of the era in which I live?

I must say I dislike most music played in parties I've been too.. I don't find many of them dancable too.. I'm not a dancable chap anyway I guess, but really I find if you don't like the music, even a little bit, then you're not even going to be tempted to get up to it.

I usually play Rihanna, Chris Brown, Usher, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Pink, Akon, ect. Those artists have tons of great songs to dance and sing along to. Pretty much anything in the hip-hop, pop, or R&B genre is great for parties.

Rock for me, plain and simple. Rock is the only thing that will make me get moving and its the only thing that gets played at any parties I attend.

Meh, I'm not really a dancer. I don't listen to music to dance, I listen to it to appreciate the talent and effort that has gone into making it. I much prefer music that has been played on an actual instrument, because that takes talent. Sitting in front of a computer and putting an irritating constant beat to some second-rate lyrics is not talent.

Jazz, Blues, Classical and Party music....yeah quite a range. Mainly the former and latter consisting of Rhianna, Shaikira, Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Cat Stevens.

METAL!!!

My parties (there more like gatherings tbh) i usually play a wide selection of "Metal's" and different variations from certain ares of the world eg. Rammstein, Amon Amarth, Finntroll, Fields Of The Nephilim, Turisas, Dimmu Borgir, an occasional bit of DragonForce, and if my guest are really lucky i'll throw in some Billy Ocean hahaha.

Hmmmm. I don't really have the opportunity to listen to the kind of music I would like to listen to at a party. It's mostly always the stuff that plays EVERYWHERE int he goddam world at the moment!

I would like the experience of going to a party that plays electro-goth, darkwave, gothic rock music. Some of that really is amazing to listen to, and if your a dancer (which I'm not), good to dance to... If you're not a dancer, then at least you'll have something to tap your feet to.
If not I'd settle with David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, hell... Even David Hasslehoff will be a bit of a laugh! Jump in My Car springs to mind, and that is actually a really cool song!

But such parties don't exist! Parties are usually an amalgamation of club music, RnB on one side and grunge or korn / disturbed type rock on the other.

So.. the atmosphere is either loads of people dancing to music I dislike or headbanging, to music that I no longer associate myself with...

Other than that parties usually play what people have came to call "cheese" music... Which is essentially older party songs that people love to hate to admit that they like...

So really... Party music isn't normally a choice... Even if you handed a DJ a few cd's, around where I live there'd be no doubt that he wouldn't play them at all and just shove on whatever else is "hot" at the moment.

my all time fav party music is Rhianna - Disturbia!!! but if it were to be a rave then i'll have to say Cascada - Everytime We Touch wait actually they both could be rave musics... nm...

Party music? Well, from the artists that I can remember...

Pendulum, Cascada, Bass Hunter (the latter two of which come under our chavtastic albums = chavvy + fantastic tunes), Steps :-)wacky:), the odd girly song from either Girls Aloud, Britney or the Pussycat Dolls, a little bit of pink, some Strokes, Smiths, Muse...

...basically, everything we listen to anyway. :wacky:

At the last party I went to, everyone got five songs and she put them on a disk for us. So we had a little bit of everything. ABBA, Pink, Destiny's Child, Beyoncé, Blondie, Avril Lavigne, Daft party songs like the Macarena, Girls Aloud, The Pussycat Dolls. Etc.

Just fun, happy pop songs that you can dance too =D

Anything that has a good beat and is technoish.

Anything from Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Metallica, Britney Spears, 3Oh3!, Katy Perry, Flo Rida etc.

As long as it's fast paced and keeps you moving and enjoying the night that's all the matters.

You never too drunk to realise when a sad emo song makes it's way onto the playlist and starts to play loudly. :gonk: Then everyone jumps to change it. >.<

Anything with a good beat going to it, really.

I'm having a big get together this month with some people. So I'm going to entertain (or torture) them with Lady GaGa, Britney Spears, Rihanna, S Club 7, The Saturdays and anything else that's pop. Like Mark, I'm really into my pop songs.

I don't get invited to many parties :wacky:, or throw any really, but I've always fantasized about doing a Halloween one with songs like The Cure's "Lullaby", some oldies like "Monster Mash" and "Purple People Eater", and some songs from the Labyrinth and X-Files soundtracks. Though I'm sure this has already been done :hmmm: "Party music" itself doesn't really appeal to me much except for "What is Love?" by Haddaway--I would so go clubbing with those SNL guys, I can even do the head bob through the whole song! :awesome:

Hmm party music... Slaps. Of course I would never listen to it by myself or just for kicks. It's horrible music I admit, but when everyone's drunk and faded out, it's pretty much perfect only for that kind of environment.
