KINGS OF LEON - CHARMER
I love how crazy he looks in this video. It's funny, the director hired a hypnotist to hypnotize them and when the brothers all agreed they felt no different than before they acted this way so the director wouldn't know it didn't work.

It's a great song. The guitaring reminds me of the Chain but faster--which I love. It always gets stuck in my head ALL day long. The lyrics are, of course, powerful as ever. And although that screaming he does is abit weird at first, I kinda love it.

Great song :ryan:

Burn/Drown the City(Demo) - A Skylit Drive

This was the demo version of what was to be "Drown the City" off of their "She Watches the Sky" debut EP. In my eyes, Jordan has a better voice than Micheal at some points. He just has a certain tone that makes you listen. I prefer the demo version because it just sounds more raw, and just sounds better to me.

Letters to Cleo - Because of You

Such an amazing band from the 90s. Imean, if you like paramore you should give 'em a listen. They're what bands like that try to be. They're just a great band to listen to if you want some classic 90s punk-rock. The guitarist is amazing and her voice is just awesome.

10/10

Phantom of the Opera - Nightwish

I'm feeling nostalgic right now. Back in the days this song was released, Nightwish actually had a proper singer. Seems like so long ago now. This was one of the first songs I heard from them (Planet Hell was the first, IIRC) and I'm still quite fond of it...after all, if not for Nightwish, I'd either have no music preference or I'd be into "mainstream" pop music, or whatever the hell Lady Gaga is. Good cover of a fantastic song.

FictionJunction - Akatsuki no Kuruma

I am very new to this group. From what I've heard, they are supposed to be very good. This is the first song I've heard from them, and it is very good. Apparently, is was in some Gundam show or game. I love it, very beautiful music

Brain Drill - Beyond Bludgeoned [Quantum Catastrophe, 2010] (Tech-Death Metal)

On paper these guys and this song should be much better than they actually are. Having a solid vocalist with an incredibly skilled instrumental group behind him; this should've been a joy ride. But boy oh boy, never has there been too much of a good thing as this.

Throwing songrwiting sensibilities out of the window, this song starts as a maniacally technical showcase that crashes faster than the BPM of the drummer's gravity blasts. Brain Drill's penchant of doing nothing but thrusting riff after riff after riff with absolutely no transition to speak off makes the music jarring. Heard a riff you like? Well you better enjoy it quickly because that fucker isn't coming back after the millisecond showcase it got.

Stuck between the tasteful balance of technicality and brutal riffing of Necrophagist and the cacophonous mess of Behold...The Arctopus; this band can't write a memorable song to save its life and Beyond Bludgeoned suffers for it.

Rating: 3/10

That Don't Impress Me Much - Shania Twain

For some reason, I'm in the mood for the music my mother used to make me listen to when I was too young to know what music was this morning. I have absolutely no idea why...but I still love this stuff. It's my darkest music secret. So sue me. I have a little playlist set up for when I'm in this sort of mood.

Bjork w/ Thom Yorke - I've Seen It All

I haven't watched it, but the song is from a film Bjork was in called Dancer in the Dark. Her character is going blind and the song is basically her trying to convince herself that she won't miss her sight, which is quite depressing.
They both have quite fragile sounding voices and they go together so well IMO. I also think using a train chugging along as the backing track is excellent. Very creative. ^_^

Mother Murder - Hollywood Undead

This is probably one of the best songs that Hollywood Undead has came out with. I mean, there's a definite source of fine tuning from their original stuff in this song, so kudos to them, but also the lyrics are much darker. Idk, it might just be rambling on, but I just love this song. :ryan:

Ferry Corsten- Rock Your Body Rock

Ironically, I was playing LBP2 a couple of weeks ago...and I will admit, the game has some pretty awesome music. I was so shocked when I started a new level and this was the song playing during it :lew: I've always been a fan of Ferry's...his music never ceases to amaze me. This is one of my favorites of his. It has a really really nice beat...and the lyrics are so perfect. :melody:

Lover of Mine - Beach House

It's a lovely album and I think this is one of the best songs from it. It's amazing how a band with two members playing only three instruments manage to make such a rich sounding song. There's drums and a keyboard and a synthesizer and vocals. And they manage to make smooth atmospheric pop-ish songs. It's lovely and soothing and just a little sad.

Passion Pit- Sleepyhead

I heard this on the radio a couple of weeks ago...and again today during the credits of a game I was playing...I love it. Its a really different kind of song...however very typical of something that Passion Pit would come up with. The bells/vocals (yes, I initally thought of Alvin and the Chipmunks the first time I heard it :lew:) and effects make it a very worthy song. I have it on repeat :ryan:

This is easily the best song for me from their Hello Hurricane album. I love the melody and lyrics. It's a slow song, perfect for right now because it's raining. It relaxes me. :ryan:

I'm losing ground and gaining speed
I've lost myself or most of me
I'm headed for the final precipice

But you haven't lost me yet
No, you haven't lost me yet
I'll sing until my heart caves in
No, you haven't lost me yet, yet
