[V5] What are you currently listening to?

I've been following TFT since 2008, I have all their albums. I've also been following all their videos (music videos as well as the ones they make themselves). They released their newest album The Verge I think 6 days ago. I LOVE IT. :rage: Nowhere Boulevard is my favorite. Also, the video above is where the GIF cut in my signature came from. I've not stopped listening to this since I heard it.

I like their sound collectively (though they're not as heavy as they used to be). Add to that, they're an extremely good-looking band. :gonk:

Metallica - Dyers Eve [...And Justice For All, 1988] (Thrash Metal)

Before Metallica became the laughing stock of the Metal community, they played thrash metal. And they did it damn good. Nowhere is this more apparent than on this very song. Combining their advancing technical ability on ...And Justice For All with the all out thrash assault of their previous outings gave birth to this last aggressive hoorah to close out the album. Metallica would proceed to delve into hard rock territory, in turn, losing the faith of millions of original fans who would always count down the days until they had the chance to witness the mayhem live.

Due to the technicality of the song, the band has opted not to play it live very often. Though it has always been a fan favorite, it was shelved right after the tour to promote ...And Justice For All only to be brought back out in 2004 and 2009 for selected shows. The latest show can be viewed below.

Song Rating: 10/10

Metallica - Dyers Eve Live (2009)

The Reaping - coheed And Cambria

OKAY, so technically this isn't an official song, but moreso an intro, but I don't care. It's wickedly awesome, and just love the guitar work. :ryan: And Claudio's voice just puts the icing on the cake. :ohoho:

Native American Music (Shoshone)

I'm not sure which of many Native American chants, prayers, powwows, songs, stories and more, is my favorite out of them all. Every time I think I have a favorite, I hear the next song and go "This is my favorite!" but then I'll listen to the previous song again and do it over again!

But even though I can't pick a favorite I find myself playing this one the most and feeling the happiest I can get, from listening to it. It calms me, it makes me relaxed, it makes me dream of a world where there is peace, beauty and no ugly buildings or whatnot...a world I would seriously be happier in. Listening to the songs, reading about the Native American's pains, betrayals, friendships, stories, songs, travels, dreams, and the love they had for how they lived both saddens me and fills me with respect for them. Their music -- be it Lakȟóta, Navajo, Guaraní, Arapaho or even Cherokee -- is just so peaceful, uplifting and beautiful, and even sad. I can never get enough of it. What a beautiful country they must have seen...

I give this song a 10/10. Very beautiful!

Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)

This is as catchy as hell. I've been loving Katy Perry just recently and with her fifth single being just as brilliant as others, I'm quite tempted to buy her Teenage Dream album. She may not be the best vocalist in the world, but she makes up for that with her style and catchy lyrics. The video's quite funny as well. So strange seeing her so geeky and her transformation!

10/10

Front Row Seats to The End Of - Funeral For A Friend

You know, I haven't listened to FFAF in a while, but I mus say their latest album is pretty sick. And this song in particular is really good, and the lyrics are really bold, but they work. I'm just in love with this song. :ryan:

Death - Voice of the Soul [The Sound of Perseverance, 1998] (Technical/Progressive Death Metal)

Written by the legendary songwriter, guitarist and arguably the first true Death Metal band Chuck Schuldiner; this song represents his valiant struggle amidst all the chaos in his life. Death was never a band to stay still with their music, constantly reinventing their sound with every release; even eventually keeping the Death Metal influences to a minimum in order to incorporate a wider variety of sounds to the music. Blending a wonderful acoustic intro with fantastic soloing and beautiful harmonized guitar leads, Voice of the Soul is a top-notch instrumental that has very few, if any rivals. The song can be viewed below.

Death - Voice of the Soul

Rammstein - Pussy

I absolutely adore Lit's voice. He has such a strong voice and love any Rammstein's songs, this one in particular as it has a good beat to it and the words humour you. Not to mention I saw this bad ass band at Sonisphere Festival 2010 ^^

Vermicide - The Mars Volta

I recommended them to a pal recently so I have been listening through a lot of their stuff again and remembering why they are my favourite band. I like this tune, and this particular video has awesome pictures of them

All My Heart - Sleeping With Sirens

One of the softer songs that they came out with, methinks. I really love the lyrics. Their really simple, but they're all fuzzy and stuff. The arrangement of instruments is nice and simple. An acoustic guitar for the majority of the song, and the intro of drums in near-end song. Honestly, one of their best songs. :ryan:

I Walk Alone - Jorn Lande

I think I prefer this version to Tarja's version...Tarja has fallen from grace somewhat in my eyes as a singer, since a) she left Nightwish, and b) I've found some vocalists I prefer anyway. Since hearing him in Avantasia, I've become quite fond of Jorn Lande's vocal style...plus rock seems to suit this song much more.

Franz Ferdinand- No You Girls

Ohhh how I love this song. Its so sexy with his voice and the lyrics "Oh kiss me...flick your cigarette and kiss me..." Its about how you make someone excited/etc...when you see them. I'll always like this...I got bored of my last phone ringtone so now this is my current one :britt:

Seether ft. Amy Lee – Broken

Song takes me back to my goth-emo-teenager days, wanting to feel heartbroken when I've never dated anyone before :P Anyways, it's a great song.

Tino Coury- Up Against The Wall (Jumpsmokers Remix)

Oooh I like the sexy lyrics and the amazing beat of this song :ohoho: ...Something I could see me dancing to at a club. Tino Coury has a decent voice...and it is a bit of a typical dance song...but I don't really care. I like it.

River (Acoustic) - Lights

I think it's a shame her songs are auto-tuned, because the acoustic versions she has on her Youtube channel are so much more gorgeous. With lights, I find myself annoyed with her breathy voice a lot, but the lyrics to this song are fucking gorgeous... =/

Familiar Taste of Poison - Halestorm

I'm usually not one to listen to bands with female vocalists, but Halestorm makes me do otherwise. I really love her voice, and in this song in particular is really great. The lyrics are great, the vocals are great, and the simple cords in the guitars are even better. :ryan:

90 Mile Water Wall - The National

It's one of my favourite songs from the Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers album. I felt like something acoustic and this song mostly is. There are some strings in the background, but most of it is just acoustic guitar and the singer's baritone.

HOW CATCHY IS THIS SONG :rage: The video was pretty good too. I found it entertaining. Pretty tight choreography as well. I never knew LMFAO was a duo, they're funny. I was inspired to learn how to shuffle. :wacky:
