This looks like a pretty good film. It's yet another Marvel one and I don't really know the deal with Thor, so I think I may give this a chance.

Ah yesss.... Good Ol' Thor.

There are a lot of Marvel movies coming out this year I think. I've fangasm'd over every trailer of the individual avenger movies.

Captain America is also coming out :ryan:

I'm not too sure about this one. When I see the trailer, I just can't shake the feeling that this is gonna be like Hulk where it takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour for anything to happen. Plus, I don't like the guy who's playing Thor. The only thing that I saw him in was Star Trek for the minute and a half that he played "Kirk's" father and I just kept thinking "Wow, this guy annoys me. I...don't know why."

I'll end up watching this movie. But I don't really think it's gonna turn out that well. Hope I'm wrong.

I went to see it about a week ago. I was enjoying the first 45 mins or so but then the sound started fucking up so they stopped the movie and gave everyone free tickets for next time. I saw it the next night and I didn't like it as much as I did the first time. The ending was anticlimactic in my opinion and there were a few obvious plot holes. But like I said, I thought the first 45 mins or so was ok.

Well now didn't see those two trailers yet, saw some other ones. The fact that they have Odin I think couldn't tell if that was supposed to be him or not in the trailer, stripping Thor of his power seems interesting. Looks like they are doing a very very short version of how Thor was supposed to learn about humanity and everything, so that he could rule Asgard when Odin's time was up.

I'm actually quite hopeful about Thor, unlike Captain America and The Green Lantern. I think it's quite interesting that a director like Kenneth Branagh would helm a movie like this. Also, this is a great breather from the overwhelmingly bad Greek/Roman Historica/Mythological schlock that's been thrown at us these past few years.

Saw it last night in 3D and I have to say it was pretty excellent, definitely one of my favourite Marvel films. All the actors gave great performances, I particularly enjoyed Tom Hiddleston as Loki. The effects were sublime, as well as the action sequences, the first fight Thor participates in was amazingly well choreographed. Overall a damn good film I think, and like all Marvel films stick around after the credits have rolled

absolutely excellent. i went into it not really knowing anything about thor. i think the casting was about perfect. chris hemsworth was excellent, as was hiddleston.
if anything it has me desperately waiting for the avengers even more now.

oh, and first glimpse of jeremy renner as hawkeye too. :ohoho:

Thor!!!!!!!!This movie surprised me. It was way better than I expected. Especially Heimdall (Gatekeeper) was brilliant even though he isnt black in the original mythology. I missed action though..not enough action as I wanted more. I have to say it has good humour in it..super action and well written drama scenes..It might feel rushed at times but it fits well together. I saw it in 3D and enjoyed ..This movie surprised me.And damn the destroyer is more scary than the pyramid head.10/10

OMG I loved this movie!

I thought it was just awesome that they used Chris Hemsworth. :ryan: He was so nice to look at the entire time! :ohoho:

I love Natalie Portman as well. She always seems to play her roles just right. She never annoys me thankfully. XD

I waited until the end of the movie just to see if they had any extra bits to show and OMG they did! When the movie ended I thought that there must be a sequel, so I waited until the credits finished and saw a sort of preview to what's happening in the second movie.

I hope they weren't just teasing us with that because I want to see Chris Hemsworth's bare chest again!!! :gonk:

That's true. Thor 2 is in the works.

As for the end-of-credits scene at the end of Thor...
The cosmic cube seen at the end of the film is a major part of the plot of the film of Captain America. It will also be important for Avengers too, I think. It is for the Marvel universe in general, so they're working that in there.

I do like the movie Thor a lot. I was lucky to see it in 3D and it blew my mind. I do hope that Thor 2 is as good, but I'm more worried about Avengers. Nothing tells me that it will be bad so far, so fingers crossed. It's just such a big project and I hope it doesn't crash. It's not very often that you see such a variety of superheroes with a variety of backgrounds that could all stand-alone being put together in one universe on film. That's how it is in the comics, so it is brave that they try to replicate that on film when most other comic book movies keep them stand-alone.

so far, all of the films setting up the avengers have been excellent (though i hear captain america wasn't great). it has a very strong cast, is written and directed by joss whedon, and has an enormous budget to make sure it's all done well. it's hard to see how the avengers will fail at all.

Well Ironman & Thor are well done. The guy playing as the Hulk is a let down. Scarlet Johannson will certainly do & I've always been a fan of Samuel.

I'm just wondering about the enemies and plot. So far I'm way more interested in the Justice League and if it will ever be realised.

My concern isn't with the actors or the writers etc, and I'm sure that I'll enjoy it no matter what. I'm just concerned that other people will not take it seriously or it will go down badly, perhaps because they're taking on a bit too much. I don't believe so, but if it does do badly then it may not be good news for future Marvel movies in the joint-universe.

I think plot wise it'll probably end up being interesting, but it'll have to be more than the cosmic cubes and Loki, I think.

mark ruffalo will be a brilliant hulk!

it's about loki trying to come back again. i think the hulk might be a villain in it for a little while, before he joins the avengers.

Yeah I am sure he will but I'm just bummed about Edward Norton..it wont feel authentic without him imo.

I have always despised the character Loki and if the story is about him well...

I thought the ending of Thor was meant for the sequal. Thought in Thor 2 Loki would try to come back.

I never read the comics btw but I got all the animations. I will check my Avengers animations to see what is key in their stories..

So far I know the Hulk is a real nemesis of the Avengers so you might be right about tht.
