The Nine Worlds: RP

"GO, NOW! Get out of here whilst you can!"

Kiko heard those words and decided that it was time to leave. He saw the brother and sister start running, and decided it would be best to follow, since he didn't really know the area that well. He looked back to see if he could help in any way, but reconsidered because it was better to stay in a group, just in case.

"I'll follow you two sweethearts, you two don't seem very combat ready."

"They might not be combat ready now, but that doesn't matter at this point. What matters is that they live so they can fight this evil."

He didn't know if any of that would mean anything, but he had to say it.

-The Talon Strikes-

As the mob continued to rush towards the heroes, Talon saw his opportunity, quickly flicking the dagger into a reverse grip he sprung out from the shadows swiftly launching himself towards the heroes at lightning pace.

"Hahahaha Take This!" he laughed sadistically as he lashed out quickly with the dagger continuing to rush past, blood now trickling from the dagger as it had hit its intended mark

Still laughing he turned to face the heroes, reaching into his pouch and threw a smoke bomb at them to cover his tracks as he retreated to the rooftop to inform Raym that his task had been completed.
=================================================================

Shogun.

Amongst the chaos, Shogun knew she had little choice and closed her eyes for a moment "Forgive me" she muttered quietly as she began to squeeze the trigger on her SA80 unloading several rounds into the advancing mob, severally wounding and incapacitating several of them, she had not noticed the Talon until the last moment when a smoke bomb had rolled to her feet and exploded, shielding her eyes and coughing uncontrollably as she tried to regain composure.

Katharina, taken aback by the large crowd, was caught by surprise and proving her point, when an assassin struck her with the man's dagger before she even noticed. The attack left a cut on her arm. This was followed by a smoke bomb that temporarily blinded Kat.

"GO, NOW! Get out of here whilst you can!"

"Who was that that just struck me?" Kat thought before doing what Saul told and left in the direction of the Holland Tunnel. On the way she started to feel pain being shot up around her arm, probably from the attack.

-Establishing the first connection- [ooc: music for this eery moment :wacky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMasLUmBzkc&feature=related [/ooc]

Raym suddenly felt thoughts begin to rush into his mind, all kinds of erratic thoughts.

Grinning wickedly he realised that his servant had cleanly fufilled his task, and knew now while the poison was working its way into the victims system was by far the best time to establish the connection.

His eyes now glowing a sparking crimson red, he probed each of the heroes minds until his gaze locked upon that of a woman, he could feel her pain and the poison slowly working its way through her veins as he began to delve a little deeper into her psyche discovering that her name was Kat.

Knowing full well that the victim would go into an uncontrollable spasm, at any moment thus destroying his chances of a connection, Raym began to speak to her, masquerading as her concience.. "Run....I need to run to the others..I'm too weak to fight and my arm really hurts" It was but a simple suggestion, but in doing so he would see how well the Wraith's kiss poison will have taken effect, and if she listened then the link will have been fully established for him to prey upon at a later time.

SAUL

"You better catch up!"

Saul allowed a self-satisfied little smirk to ghost across his features. I'll catch up. You can bet your sweet ass on it, Blondie.

Sliding into a low crouch, the warrior readied himself for an onslaught when there was a sudden bang behind him. Turning to face where the group had been, smoke now billowed around them, obscuring them from Saul's vision. "Oh god damnit!"

Turning back, he ran a little ways back towards the group, staying just out of the smoke. He would defend those still not in the tunnel if he had to. "Are you okay back there?"

-------------------------

ARIA

Ignoring the others around her, she focused solely upon her brother. He was like her little star twinkling bright amidst all this chaos and confusion. The woman who spoke to them was older, but that was all Aria's mind could make out as it reeled from the darkness she had witnessed today.

"They might not be combat ready now, but that doesn't matter at this point. What matters is that they live so they can fight this evil."

The archer boy's voice cut through her little blanket of self-doubt that had settled since this whole attack started. She had been scared that she would be of no use to this group of people and that she would spend the rest of her life just running away.

"If we make it out of here alive, that guy is SO getting a hug," she murmured more to herself than anyone else, her spirits lifting slightly as they moved, her little legs pounding to keep up with her brother.

"Run....I need to run to the others..I'm too weak to fight and my arm really hurts"

Kat started to hear voices, which made her think it was her subconscious acting out on her. Listening to what it said, she started running towards her withdrawing comrades. "Hey, wait up!!" Little does she know is that she is in fact being controlled.

Katharina finally caught up to her allies, saying to them. "Where should we wait for the rest of them?" She was somewhat concerned for their safety, but she hoped when they make it out of here, she would get an explanation about what's going on.

Samuel, holding his chest now, ran as fast as he could, but fatigue was swiftly mastering him. Why? He was usually so fast and so slow to tire. Why now, when he most needed speed to be on his side, was he getting tired out?

The tunnel was now in sight, and he overtook Aria and Koodori, arriving at its entrance first, before leaning against the wall, rapidly breathing and out in an attempt to catch his breath, as his breath caught in his throat.

He looked at the others. "Are you all right?" he asked in a gasp.

OOC: Short.

Koodori arrived at the Holland Tunnel with Aria in his hand. Looking at Samuel being so tired as he was and feeling extremely tired himself he gasped for air before speaking up to him.

"I'm fine, I think we all are."

Crystal walked slowly and managed to sit down on the ground as she was tired beyong imagination right now. She sighed and stood up after having a few seconds to breath and flicked her now quite messy pink hair back.

"I'm not fine. My heels hurt, hell my entire feet hurt and I have a wound on my knee! And my hair, my beautiful hair is a complete mess."

Stopping up for a second looking akwardly at everyone that had arrived she regained her somewhat proud stance and tried to brush of her previous breakdown.

"Yes, I am fine."

Heading further into the city, Crimson Wolf had set out to meet up with Brunhilde and her sister, to assist them in however he could in this crisis.

He spotted Brunhilde, and went over to her and offered to assist in any way he could. "Brunhilde, Ashe has advised that I assist you. So what can I do to help in this situation? Ashe is seeing to it that a group of children I came across get to safety without being harmed, she should be more than capable of protecting them from attackers while they make their way for the Holland Tunnel."

Whatever she would ask of him to do, he would do whatever it takes to improve the situation within the city, he awaited her orders, still staying aware of the surroundings as not to be caught off guard by any attackers, he could sense anything as it got anywhere close, so he wouldn't have any problem with this, being fully ready to fend off any attackers.

OOC: Sorry for another short post, but I'm short on time atm.

As the fun and games reached there close, Raym began to grow a little impatient as most of the heroes retreated to the relative safety of the tunnel, leaving the mob to continue his dirty work, he began to hover up and with a shriek flew with haste across the decimated remains of New York city.

Scanning around, he sensed the presence of Alasdair somewhere amist the crumbling wreckage and chose to seek him out once more, landing in a hovering position just behind him Raym quickly piped up..

"Doing a little sssite sseeing are we sssshifter? Youu do knoww our esssteemed guessstss have already left dont you?
" He quipped at Alasdair hoping to gauge an aggressive response from him.

OOC: Not short at all, Cerberus.

Samuel stood up straight, hand on his dagger in case anyone caught up. He looked concernedly at Katharina for a moment and then turned around, looking into the blackness of the Holland Tunnel with a grim look on his face. Would he come out the other side alive? Would it be enough? And what would they do after they did come out the other side? Forget this massacrre ever happened? Hope it never happened again? Live in blissful ignorance forevermore?

Now was not the time to be thinking about that. It was time to leave, before more destruction and bad luck came their way. Shivering, his chest's aching only growing worse as he stepped forward, he didn't look at the others as he said "Let's go," and walked into the darkness, quickly surrounded by black.

Anastasia

Anastasia watched the whole thing from the roof and smiled coyly as she turned around, letting light envelop her again.

Time for some fun.

Appearing beside Taylana, she smiled, softly. "Want a little hunt, Taylana? A few younglings just escaped into the Holland Tunnel. A hunt in the dark? What do you say? Care for a little fun?"

Katharina saw Sam look back at her, concerned about something. They did however meet up with the rest of the group by the Holland Tunnel. She said, "If what I've read is correct, this tunnel should take us to New Jersey, Jersey City to be more specific. From there, we will have to decide on what to do next." Kat's arm still cramped but she had to go through the pain.

"Let's go,"

Kat followed Samuel into the darkness of the Holland Tunnel, despite being a lot of cars, they were empty, so it would be possible to bump into a lot of them along the way.

"Are you all right?"

"I think so. A little tired, but fine for the most part."

He could feel the pounding in his legs from the lack of activity setting in. He had to ignore the pain in order to keep up with the group.

"Let's go,"

Kiko followed the group into Holland Tunnel and awaited the next series of events to unfold.

The battle between Arukab and Lloyed was still going on, none able to defeat the other. Lloyed could not hit Arukab, as Silver would be coated as a retaliation, and Lloyed's masterful skills were beating Arukab in the offensive game. They both calmed, realizing the stalemate.

Lloyed spoke, "Oh my sweet Mystery, have you stopped playing with me?"

Arukab had a quick snapping reaction. "Just like the old ones say, I can be destroyed, but I can never be defeated!" His voice was so loud it echoed through the sky, allowing some to hear it if they had a keen enough sense, but only the keenest would be able to anyway.

"Such persisting ambition, why do you oppose me? We could do anything with out skills combine."

"Aye, that is true, but I will not work for one such as yourself, Pegos, the black silver Pegasus did not will me to lend my blade."

"Just as much a pawn to that beast as you usually are. Well we both know neither will win, so I will be on my way." Lloyed created his way into his afterlife and vanished in front of Arukab. Where he was headed now was unknown, but that god could never be up to any good.

Luna Had come up to see two earthly figures ahead of her. He glowing red eyes were looking the both of them up and down, sizing them up. One that was unknown to her was using elements to her advantage. Luna watched in fascination. The other one used light to protect herself, and Luna examined that protection. It wasn't too far from that of her own, but she had the dark element. Luna managed to pick up on one of the names, being called Taylana by the other.

Luna began to charge for a bit. She charged for a mere 10 seconds, all while remaining hidden behind a truck that had been ripped nearly in half. But she decided to hold it off and see what they would do before doing anything that would be stupid. So she watched...

OOC: Oh yeah, I edited Luna's post in

Alasdair jolted a little as he sensed the presence of the Wraith. He clenched his fists and looked angrily towards the ground. In his mind he was raging, multiple negative thoughts about Raym passing through his mind at the same time, but he calmed himself as he did not want to show weakness, especially not after the embarrassing display that had occurred earlier. He knew that in their last encounter Raym had left with the upper hand. Alasdair was determined to get the last laugh this time.

He turned round to face his ghostly foe.

“A little blood soaked carnage does indeed rest well on my eyes, shade. I am making this city a most handsome place!”

Alasdair gestured at some of the dead bodies in myriads of positions strewn across the pavement, and then waved at a couple of the burning buildings, smirking as he did so.

He remembered the second question in Raym’s remarks, regarding the heroes.

“Oh, I'm glad! They’d be fools to stay here forever, and I'd rather not face a bunch of idiots when the time comes. Besides I’m having fun here... I’d rather save SOMETHING for another day", Alasdair stepped confidently towards Raym, getting dangerously close and keeping contact with he Wraith's face.

"So... Raym Paulus, what are you expecting me to do about it?"

OOC: Hey, necron, do the gods still have a tier system? Like how in Norse Mythology it goes Einherjar, Valkyrie then the bigger gods or are they all equal?

Brunhilde

Brunhilde watch in surprise as Anastasia disappeared in the midst of energy. She would have thought that she would fight for a bit more. Whatever it was, the other Pure One fighting her Sister has also departed. It worried her. The move seemed more like a tactical move rather than a retreat.

What could they be up to...?

A sudden surge in her own energy snapped Brunhilde from her thoughts and quickly, let it dissipate and shatter before it triggered. It would have been idioitic for her to trigger "it" when unnecessary. Without looking back, she knew Ellie was walking towards where she stood.

Formidable foes, i have to admit. How was your sparring partner?

"Brunhilde, Ashe has advised that I assist you. So what can I do to help in this situation? Ashe is seeing to it that a group of children I came across get to safety without being harmed, she should be more than capable of protecting them from attackers while they make their way for the Holland Tunnel."

Ah, Lord Wolf. It seems you were a step too late. They have ....fled...for a lack of word and i am finding it hard to track them. Still, many humans are still dying, whether it be by their own people or these Pure Ones. We should spread out and scour the city for them. What do you say of this, Lord Wolf, Ellie?

Ashe

Smoke streamed towards Ashe's face, and on instinct, leapt out of its way. There was a powerful foe amongst the area. All she could feel was a slight disturbance right before the assailant attacked and launched the smoke bomb.

UAAGH!

A poor controlled man launched himself straight at Ashe. It was pathetic in how mindless they were. This man was already a sad excuse for a man, weak, thin and small. Ashe almost felt sorry as she swatted him with a hard backhand, sending him flying. The little diversion with the smoke had allowed some of the mob to get in close, forcing Ashe to get physical.

Stay down, human.

Ashe whipped the repeater crossobow butt straight across a woman's head and launched a straight punch at another man. Even after such powerful strikes, they still manage to stand back up. A second strike ensured they stayed down, but that wasw one hit too many. Ashe backstepped back towards Shogun until she was next to her.

Need to get into better position. We're open to getting attacked from front and back.

Another man came out from the smoke and on reflex, Ashe shot him in the chest.

Damnation!

Lindt

Lindt was wandering in te Holland Tunnel. She had gone in not too long ago, so the end was still visible, but it was far enough that she had to use her head-mounted torch. Her Garand was levelled straight ahead, all too ready to shoot. There had been too many close calls already, with law and order plummeting to hell.

Every single noise echoed throughout the tunnel, amplifying even the most innocent of sounds, like water dripping, the scuffling of rodents and the groaning of the odd car engines that had been left running. However, one noise was more concerning than the rest, which was that of some sort of laboured laughing breathing, like a maniac. God knows where it was coming from with all these cars and the echoing. Step by step, Lindt moved forward, pass a toyota corolla, a Camero, a mustang, a ferrari before a bus. The bus had all its windows smashed out and in the darkness, the jagged edges of the glass was daunting. Lindt spent a few seconds looking at it before turning around and going on when the source of the breathing jumped out.

Gotcha, poppet!

An obviously
deranged and ragged man had leapt headfirst out of the drivers window and tackled Lindt from behind to the ground. A tight grip wrapped around her throat and begun squeezing the life out of her. Lindt's legs flailed as did her arms. Her eyes could see the depravity and insanity in the man's mind.
Screw this! I ain't gonna let this guy screw with me!

From her belt, Lindt whipped out the Garand bayonet and plunged it deep into the guys flanks, between the middle two ribs before twisting. His gutteral scream ripped through the tunnel as he fell backwards, trying to pull the blade from his side when Lindt stomped him hard on the chest, planting him to the ground. The harsh led light blinded him, but as his eyes adjusted, he say a muzzle planted between his eyes.

N......!

He didnt get very far when he was aruptly cut
off with the loud band of the rifle that once again rang throughout the tunnel. The now-dead man's head slumped to the ground, but Lindt stayed where she was for a few seconds until he was actually dead, but placed another two rounds into his heart. Then she fell back on her own arse and backpedalled till her back was to a car. Her breathing came out in short, laboured bursts. She hugged her rifle and stared knives at the corpse. She had survived again. Unlike the fights she had when she was younger, where she had no fear of her life and revelled in the challenge, she could die anytime now. It was going to take time to get used to.

Wylfred ran towards the train station. There was nobody left alive. He couldn't help but feel lonely. Why was he still alive? He tried the cellphone he had taken from a departed teen- no luck. It seemed a fierce battle was occuring somewhere but he did care, he wanted out.

As Wylfred reached the train station he studied the map. He followed the tunnel on it which led out of the city. And so he began to enter.

(OOC: Sorry for short post. I don't really have any interaction so...)

[ooc: @tipsy Shogun isnt wearing a gasmask, its just a simple spec-ops kevlar baraclava [/ooc]

Raym listened intently as Alasdair said his piece..

“A little blood soaked carnage does indeed rest well on my eyes, shade. I am making this city a most handsome place!”

He knew he had a point but he would come to it soon enough.

“Oh, I'm glad! They’d be fools to stay here forever, and I'd rather not face a bunch of idiots when the time comes. Besides I’m having fun here... I’d rather save SOMETHING for another day"

As Alasdair approached Raym he simply crossed his arms and shook his head, hoping Alasdair remembered what had happened the last time they had been in disagreement.

"So... Raym Paulus, what are you expecting me to do about it?" As the words left the mouth of Alasdair, a sadistic grin crawled upon Raym's spectral features, still hovering he began to circle around Alasdair making sure to keep eye contact with him.

"Welll I thought you would never asssk" He replied with a rasp of sarcasm to his ghastly voice, "Quite sssimple my deaar ssshifter....If you have the gutsss that isss" Raym continued clearly hoping to provoke a response out of Alasdair using his excellent grasp of speechcraft to instill something into Alasdair...

"I want youuu, if you can actually do it, to ssset up a little welcoming party for our oh ssso painfully goodie two ssshoess heroessss, I doubt you will sssucceed however becaussee crimson and those annoying valkariesss are with them, sssso what do you ssay are you up for it...." Raym paused as his eyes flashed with wicked delight "Or am I right in thinking that youuu are nothing more than a pitifulll coward!" Raym knew full well the risks of talking to Alasdair like this, but he knew if he provoked his primal rage, the shape shifter would unwittingly do his bidding without even realising, so Raym just hovered and waited for a moment to see the results of his words.

ENTER THE SEER.

Somehow he knew. Like he always did. He had rolled his dice, and it came up 3 and 2. That meant he had to go into the fray. It was not what he wanted. He was not a fighter, and this was not his fight. After all, what did he care whether this group beat those enemies? He could see all the possibilities, and none of them were very pleasant. Save the one. But for that to happen .... He chuckled to himself .... For that to happen, so many unexpected things would have to take place, it was almost unfathomable, even for him. Almost. You see, for that particular outcome to happen, it would be the equivalent of him rolling his dice and having both of them land on their edges.

Three times in a row.

No, it was best to simply forget about that outcome. Especially when the path the dice currently forced him to take led him directly into the path of this particular conflagration. Sighing, Pierre "Bones" Chretien opened the door to the access tunnel that ran the length of the Holland Tunnel. He made his way down past several interior doors that would open into various parts of the tunnel. Finally stopping at one in particular that looked exactly like all the others, Bones took a moment to roll his dice one last time. 3 and 2. Again. "Merde. Lady Fate, she is certain on this one tonight."

Bracing himself, he opened the door to the tunnel.

OOC: I'll meet you, if you don't mind, Freya

Lindt

The sudden grating of metal hinges sent Lindt into reflexive action, leaping to one side and pointing her gun squarely at the now open access tunnel. Eyes wide and adrenaline pumping, her fingers tensed at the trigger where any sudden sound or movement could possibly push her enough to shoot now and ask later. Thankfully, she didnt. With her light, the figure of a rather big african american stood at the door.

You there! I warn you, try anything funny and i'll shoot you. I mean it.

Like an afterthought that this man might not believe her, Lindt pointed her head at the dead man not too far to her right. The town has gone crazy. There was no idea or clue as to what others might do. It was already pretty bad in the slums, but now, it was much worse and Lindt had to be on top of it if she wanted to survive.
