School girls, guns, samurai, dragons, badass gangsters guys, guns and swords and a fantasy setting. 8( And robots. 8(

I think a team of nerds came up with this film... but it still looks pretty awesome. It'll have a paper thin plot and shite acting but I'm sure it'll be entertaining. :andry:

This looks like it could be good. These don't normally end well, but I'm holding out for this one. There may be hope yet. I'm interested to seeing how it turns out.

Indeed the trailer has been done superbly (is that even a word lol) anyways its really those SAMURAI's that caught my eye, those designs are incredible.

Then the same director from 300 and Watchmen (both movies have a certain style of camera angle and glare which i tend to like) and the trailer seems to have the same elements as that movie, So it must end up good-to great..I cant see this movie end up sucking after this sweet trailer.

The main girl is the same girl from The Uninvited 2009 horror movie but now she's blonde.

Vanessa hudgens plays in the movie as well...that is a bit of a letdown imO.

Aw! Actually, Emily Browning (the main character Babydoll) is a very good actress (not to mention stunning model), she's one of my favourite female actresses. There's also Abbie Cornish who is also very good, and Jon Hamm, who is also in this film, though I don't think he's featured in the trailer really. I think he's playing the bad guy.. or villain.

As for the team of nerds, I must say none of that stuff really gets me off as I'm not the nerd-type, but I do see this whole thing as a pretty entertaining concept and the burlesque/brothel sequences shown look just teriffic. The director himself actually said that this was his movie where he just wanted to throw all of the best nerdy elements all into one giant nerdgasm of a movie. All the crazy shit that goes on is within the protagonist's imagination (she's stuck in a mental institution).
The femme fatale theme just makes it even better in my eyes..
You can probably tell I've been looking forward to this movie. The only thing that might suck is having to watch one (or some) of these girls die at some point in the film, which I'm sure is inevitable..

Zack Snyder can do no wrong. He's proven that, I think.

Another one that would definitely look good up on the big screen!

The trailer looked freakin' wicked. I'm definitely excited for this one!

The whole school girl, samurai, dragon etc thing looks freakin' awesome together and no doubt this will be a great movie!

Or at least I hope so. >.< I'd hate to see those special effects go to waste on a crap storyline. =/

Omg omgomg! DID SOMEONE SNEAK AROUND MY MIND FOR THE IDEA OF THE AWESOMEST MOVIE EVER MADE?!?!?!

This looks freakin amazing. It's like everything I like all meshed into one film. Girls kicking major ass....It's all too much for me to handle. It's definietly made it's way to the top of my "must see" list of movies.

Oooh, a pretty nice trailer. The concept seems a bit confusing to me now that I've watched it. It holds great potential for a story, but I hope the script isn't too cliched because this still looks really good.

God, man, usin' a silversun pickups and a led song :rage: Now I def have to watch it, man. I've been waiting for this movie for a long time and now it's come.

Looks epic.

I only want to see it for Emily Browning. I've had the biggest crush on her since A Series of Unfortunate Events first came out. I hold out no hope due to it being a Zack Snyder film. No offense to anyone who likes him, but I don't think he's a very good director. His movies are shot beautifully, and the action is awesome. But to be fair that's all he has going for him. I saw trailers for 300 and I was excited. Then, I quickly lost interest. Then I saw the trailer for Watchmen and I was excited as fuck. I saw thinking "This is gonna be the most epic shit EVER!!! :awesome: " And I was greatly disappointed. The movie was too long, the only awesome character in the movie was Rorschach, and there were, in my opinion, too many pointless scenes that focused far too much on character development and not enough on moving the plot along. He's good at capturing the mood of a movie, but he tends to focus on the most unimportant shit (not that I'm calling character development unimportant). So, to close, if Emily Browning wasn't in the movie I wouldn't be seeing it. I care nothing for Vanessa Hudgens and I don't know enough about Jamie Chung to care about her.

Things like this don't normally interest me but I'm actually kind of looking forward to this movie! it almost looks like a video game :D

Not gonna lie, the whole premise of the film interested me. Clearly Babydoll (Emily Browning's character) is in an insane asylum so for me I'm thinking she's mad and half of this crazy shit's in her head: dragons, Nazi zombies, epic samurais, etc. It'll be interesting to see the parallels between reality and fantasy. I think the concept would make this film play out beautifully if it's integrated correctly. Some action films tend to fail on the character and plot development area which for me, is kind of a factor when I see a movie. It's got to have a meaty plot and interesting characters not just flashy special effects and nerdy shit like this. So I'm holding my breath on this one, 'cause while it looks cool, it could end up disappointing me greatly like Watchmen did. 300's a different ball game, I actually liked it.

Didn't see a thread for this movie..

I saw this the other day going by the trailers and promos I thought it would be meh but this film amazed me on so many levels. What did you guys think? I'm incredibly surprised that its reviews have mostly been negative. Some have called it misogynistic, but I disagree.

So far it's my favorite film of 2011 and quite frankly I don't think anything will be able to top it.

Well there was actually a thread for this movie somewhere. Anyways I think the reviews were all screwed up. I mean I followed this movie months before it came out and I basically knew the storyline. Now the difference between me and my friends who say they've hated it is: I knew the general outline of the story and I knew not to take the story too literal. My friends did and ended up saying the movie was "stupid" which, frankly even though it lacked in character development it's better than a lot of the crap they watch.

So I think this movie got a lot of undeserved hate. Almost everyone I knew who was excited for this movie jumped on the bandwagon with the reviews and decided not to see it. Just another example of how people are so quick to judge something without seeiing for their own eyes.

I made a thread for this movie way too long ago and thats why it got teased away :lew:
Thats the problem with this section...too many movies and thus too many threads to keep up xD

I havent seen this movie yet, but I definitely want to see it.
But honestly besides hot babes, hot fictional action, samurai's dragons etc...how is the story/script outside her imagination?

The movie seems to have a serious tone, but as they hired Vannessa Hudgens as one of the actors..and the certain bad reviews..I'm just wondering....

Is it that good?
A magazine in my country VERONICA gave it 2 stars only and trust me they know whats up... anyways I still want to see it..

DL via torrent asap.

Amazing movie. It may sound to some critics/skeptics like fanservice on the outside, but it was really, really well done. Visually brilliant, surprising lack of explicit sexual content (which kind of defies the "fanservice" idea), and I liked how there was a bit of a twist at the end. I really, really enjoyed this movie, the soundtrack was amazing and I would definitely watch it again, which I can't even say about some of the really good superhero comic movies that have come out recently. The journey is the fun part, and I don't think it would matter whether you knew the end or not, it would still be enjoyable. 15/10.

(Also I loved Rocket's haircut, it was so cute <3)
