[RP] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra

Sir Fratley
Robert Crescent

Fratley looked at the one named Lan. "While your offer is appreciated, the knights assigned to the task are professionals, trained personally by myself and Lady Freya as Burmecia's elite. They will get the job done, they always do. If you wish to help, you can help the Cleyrans as they arrive by directing them to the shelters and the infirmary once they arrive in Burmecia." Fratley spoke to the young man before then turning to a familiar face, Beatrix's daughter.

"I've only just learned of their summoner from Robert. I will of course send word of our discovery immediately to Queen Garnet and Reagent Cid." He spoke before deciding to question her. "Is this group all there is of survivors?" Fratley asked.

After a bit of traveling, the group would reach Burmecia, and Fratley would turn to face the group from the woods. "Robert, come with me. You will make your report to King Puck. The rest of you may make yourselves at home. John, go to the innkeeper and tell them that their rooms are on my tab. You can all stay here to recover. If you have need of anything, you may go to the palace and speak to myself or Freya." Fratley spoke. With that, Robert would accompany Fratley to the palace, and to the King's throne room.

Fratley and Robert entered the throne room, where a surprised Queen Lilly rose from her seat and ran over to Robert, hugging him tightly. Robert gave a chuckle and returned the hug. "I've only been gone for a few months, Lilly. You missed me that much?" he teased. Lilly smiled and giggled a bit. "Of course I did! You're always getting into some kind of trouble." she teased.

"Robert, give your report." Fratley said, reminding Robert that there are more pressing matters than greeting his sister. Lilly let Robert go and sat herself in her throne. Robert placed his left arm across his chest as he held his lance with his right. "Your Majesty. Alexandria's ship was attacked by a summoner by two Eidolons. The first was a thunder horse which destroyed the ship, and the second was a thunder bird who the summoner brought out to attack myself and the survivors of the crash. I and my allies defeated the summoner, but she teleported away before a death blow could be dealt. So to our knowledge, Olievert has at least two Eidolons at their disposal, and both are thunder based. I would request that Queen Garnet and Reagent Cid be notified of these developments, as Queen Garnet is a summoner herself and would be of great help, as well as Princess Eiko." Robert spoke in a professional tone of voice. He stood at attention, waiting for King Puck's response.

This was not the help Lan had in mind as he paced his inn room. Courtesy of Fratley. The green robed boy only paced some more as he tried to remove the energy he had. "I wanna help getting the people out, not directing them to aid. Burmecia's Elite. Bah. Alexendria sent their elites and most of them are dead from that crash. Besides, the only 'Elite's' are him and Freya." Lan muttered under his breath as he pulled out his map and located Clerya on the map. After making some rough guesses, Lan gathered his belongings and left his room.

Alleria Stormseeker

Alleria remained quiet the whole time. It wasn't as she had imagined herself to be when she finally came face to face with the legends that she wanted to meet so badly, but nevertheless, it was good enough for her. This was something that she can eventually tell her children about - that she met, and worked with legends like the Iron Tail, and Freya.

Even General Gisale herself was considerably famous, which made Alleria somewhat upset altogether when she remembered that she apparently did not survive the crash.

Quietly following the group, she, and the group, were led to the inn where their accommodation had been paid for. It wasn't exceptionally well-furnished, but it provided the warmth that the rain outside did not.

"Guess we're on standby until something comes along."

Sighing aloud, she sat down on the bed. She was raring for some action, but she wasn't the type to act without orders. For now, she would be quiet and rest.

Stephen remained silent when Fratley and his knights showed up, he wasn't one to be butting heads with a man as skilled as Fratley, Stephen was surprised by the Fact Robert was Fratley's son, but he did not care. when he reached the hotel he headed straight for his room, Fratley didn't want any help with Cleyra, so Stephen didn't offer, after all he wasn't well known in Buremacia "I should have stayed home" he muttered to himself as he lay down on his bed.

Staring up at the ceiling, Stephen wondered how everyone was doing, the knights were probably Awaiting orders, but Rior and Lan, what would they do now, they were at Buremacia and Fratley was obvious about not needing assistance, what would they do now.

OOC: anyone want me their welcome to come get me

Nodin Radley stepped into the inn, exhausted and drenched to the bone. The lobby looked comfy and inviting, especially when compared to the conditions he'd been through for the last few weeks. The journey to Alexandria all the way from the farthest reaches of the Old Continent proved to be nothing short of challenging so far: the weather conditions had been unfavorable, the monsters fiercer than usual and the wilderness crueler than ever before. There hadn't been a proper good night's sleep for weeks.

"Evening ma'am," Nodin greeted the innkeeper, an elderly female Burmecian. "A room for the night, please."

"I'm sorry, sir, but we're all booked," she responded with a consoling look on her face.

Nodin shook his head, sighing heavily.

"You can't be serious."

"This is truly unfortunate, sir. We had plenty of rooms a while ago, but then this large group of people arrived and suddenly we're full. The reservations were even paid for by the general himself."

"Oh, come on! This is the last inn I check, and it's full as well?" He said with a loud voice.

This can't be happening. Taking a few deep breaths, he calmed down.
But it's not the old lady's fault. I shouldn't be shouting at her.

"I'm sorry for my behavior, ma'am," he said. "I'm a traveller, and it's been weeks since I've slept on anything softer than the bare ground. Do you mind if I stay here for a while? I'm freezing."

"Feel free, sir," she responded, smiling. "Sorry again for the situation. I hope you understand."

Nodin turned away from the counter and sat on a rocking chair by the fireplace. Might as well keep myself warm till nightfall, he thought as he removed his soaked robe and boots.

Stephen had been laid in bed, almost falling asleep when he heard a Male voice that sounded displeased at the fact the Inn was full, he rolled off of his bed, landed Gracefully on his feet, grabbed his Key and left the room, striding downstairs to the reception area.

looking around he could only see one man, he was dressed in robes, and so Stephen assumed that he was the guy who made all the noise, he strode over to the Gentleman and looked him up and down, "hey man, was it you makin all the noise, because if it was, and your not a thief then i have a Twin room with a spare single bed that will go unused, you can have it as long as you tell me your name" Stephen announced as he kept a watchful eye

It was not in Nodin's habit to accept offers like that from strangers - for one thing he'd learned in life was not to trust anyone - but these were different circumstances. The man looked like a monk, and Nodin knew from experience that monks are a generous kind of people. Can't say I've come across one of those in Burmecia before, he thought. Or maybe he just likes to dress up?

"Can't thank you enough, buddy. My name's Nodin. Nodin Radley. What's yours?"

Nodin stood up from the chair and reached for his satchel for some gil. Placing the money on the counter, he gave the monk a grateful glance and limped into the room, his feet tired from the arduous journey.

"I'm a traveler on my way to Alexandria. Been walking for five weeks straight, and I can't say I've had much sleep lately. Hope you don't mind if I just get right into it."

Seeing a mattress alone was enough to make Nodin smile. He let himself fall on it and the moment he lay down, he was fast asleep.

Stephen smiled as Nodin accepted his offer and before he vanished into the room he announced "My name is Stephen Hownam" he then turned and looked towards the Exit "It's a shame the rain never stops, it would be a nice city if it wasn't for the downpour. Stephen headed back up to the room and saw Nodin asleep, he simply smiled and walked to the corner nearest his bed, Sitting with his legs crossed, and his wrists rested on his knee's, he shut his eyes and began to focus his mind.

an hour or so passed by in what felt like mere seconds whilst Stephen was sat meditating, when he opened his eyes again the rain was still pouring, "oh well, wishful thinking i suppose" he muttered to himself before standing up and heading out of the room, leaving the Key for Nodin with a note saying "if your going to leave, lock up and leave the Key at reception"

Heading out of Burmacia, Stephen stood on the plains, looking around for a foe or a creature to train against, he wished he could just meditate the spells into his head, but he had to grow stronger Via training, and so he did so, whenever he had a spare moment, it was his reason for travelling to Buremacia in the First place.

Lan Ester

Lan walked out and watched stephen and a guy named Nodin talking for a bit before watching Nodin walked pass him. The green robed genome stood there and thought for a bit before turning around walked until he reached Alleria's room. Lan knocked on her room door and sighed a bit before opening his mouth while fingering the base of his cat claws.

"Hey Alleria. You got a minute on you? I wanna talk to you."

OOC: short post and somewhat bad one in my case

Alleria Stormseeker

Alleria was about to nod off to sleep, having chose to lay down as she meditated about the day's events, when the knock on the door startled her. Literally jumping off the bed, she almost fell onto the floor as she stared at the door. Whoever was knocking was at least polite enough to not knock and come in immediately - which was a common habit back in Ipsen.

"Hey Alleria. You got a minute on you? I wanna talk to you."

Taking a minute to replay the voice in her head, she wondered who it was before responding,"Sure, come on in. Door's not locked."

If her memory served her right, it would either be Rior or Lan. She couldn't be sure, especially since neither of them would have any real business with her. Or so she thought anyway, if one of them would choose to speak to her at this time.

Walking back to her bed, she sat at the end as she waited for whoever outside to let himself in.

Lan Ester

"Sure, come on in. Door's not locked."

Lan entered to room to see Alleria on the bed. Lan dismissed the information as he wanted to talk to talk to the said girl. The green robed genome set his pack down as he leaned against a wall to talk to Alleria.

"This whole war seems stupid. Why would Olivert need to start something like this? I mean sending soldiers as a convoy is one thing. But why do they feel the need to bring a summer? They did just come out of a civil war right?" Lan muttered looking at the purple haired genome in front of him.

"Why even go to war without a just cause? Could there be something they are looking for?" Lan wondered as he then got an idea.

"Say Alleria, how far are you willing to go to obtain information about what the enemies' motives are while getting the people of Clerya out?" Lan asked.

OOC: Squidy, ye have not ben posting. What's happened?

Alleria Stormseeker

Looking at the young, green-haired Genome, she sighed as she let herself fall back on the bed. He sat his pack down and leaned against the wall, seemingly serious. Admittedly, Alleria never liked this sort of talks, because she wasn't the type to respond with wise answers that many would seek at this time, but at least she was a good listener.

"Well, I can't say I know much about Oeilvert myself -- other than the textbooks that is. Yeah, with all that civil wars and all..."

Then he made a suggestion that appealed greatly to her.

"Ye--" She sprang back up, about to answer when a realization hit her.

"I'm willing, but... I have to uphold the Ipsen Knight's reputation..."

She was definitely not keen to stick around following orders like a robot. Pouting, she let herself fall back on the bed again, sighing aloud.

Walking onward with the group to Burmecia, Ricard avoided the main path to the castle, he was never particularly comfortable with higher class people. Walking through the city streets he found himself in an empty area near the city walls. It was in that silence that he heard a strange sound from below, predicting it to be a spy from Oeilvert Ricard started to look for where they were hiding.

Looking around he quickly spotted muddy footprints, a fairly novice mistake to make, even in a place as wet as Burmecia. Following them he found they led to a narrow pathway, eventually reaching an underground tunnel, leaping down it it wasn't particularly deep, further leaving Ricard to question the abilities of this spy. If they all acted like this it's a wonder the war even started.

The tunnel didn't seem particularly long so Ricard readied his Katana this time, in case of a trap, this was quickly answered with what could barely count as one. Hearing a woman running behind him he turned around and with a single cut of his katana, disarmed her of the sword she intended to kill him with before resheathing it in the blink of an eye.

"Who the hell are- oh wait... It's you"

Flying up through the swirl of sand, Amarant landed in a heap on the ledge above the antlion's pit, next to a young man he didn't recognize. Slowly getting to his knees, he took a vial from his pocket, cracked it open, and poured the contents into a deep gash across his chest. He could feel the antlion's poison seeping its way through his system, threatening to paralyze him within moments. The antidote would help arrest the poison's progress. He hoped.

Glancing over at the young ma-... well, originally Amarant thought it was just a human, but then he noticed the cat ears. He held the ... humanoid's gaze for just a moment. Just as it seemed the young person was about to speak, the antlion gave a great screech from the depths of its pit. Without a word, Amarant leapt back down directly through the sand swirl and into the pit, resuming his struggle with the great beast.

Puck I, King of Burmecia

The King dutifully listened as Robert gave his report on the situation. With the situation in Cleyra as dire as it is and Alexandria's support, including the famed General Gisale no longer among the living, it was clear that they would need to take the initiative.

After thinking about the situation, Puck started to speak, "Thank you for delivering this news here, Sir Robert. We'll need to act quickly and decisively if we are to successfully remove Oeilvert's presence from the Mist Continent."

Puck turned towards Fratley, his trusted friend and idol growing up in Burmecia. "Sir Fratley, we must mobilize our troops. In the event that the enemy comes to Burmecia, we need to be ready. We will need Vivius' help as well." Vivius was the eldest of Vivi's children, that being said, he was the one most entrusted to with Burmecia's sole Eidolon, the Burmecian's trump card against Oeilvert's Army.

Turning his attention to Sir Robert, he said, "Sir Robert, we will need to evacuate the citizens of Cleyra from the city, get as many people out of there as we can. More importantly, we will need to rescue the Cleyran Stadtholder, Samuel from captivity."

Puck turned towards his wife Lily, then thought for a moment, this was a similar feeling his father must've felt when Alexandria attacked 17 years ago.

"For now, let the survivors get some rest, we'll most likely request their help on this matter. I will relay the message to Queen Garnet and Regent Cid through Mognet. You are dismissed."

----
The Twinsword

"Who the hell are- oh wait... It's you"

Twinsword pouted when she heard that remark from Ricard. "Well that's no way to greet a lady."

She laughed a bit after saying that, she could never fake being a serious person. Instead, she walked up to the Samurai and gave him a tight hug. "You're such a badass." She stepped back, doing a backflip right next to the sword he swatted away from her. "Just call me Twinsword. Everyone in Oeilvert calls me that, you know."

Picking up her other weapon, Twinsword then got herself to a fighting stance, "So you wanna fight, or are you gonna tuck your tail and run?"

----
Annelise Steiner

Annelise watched the rain fall as she looked out from her room. Her broadsword on a wall next to the bed, she wondered what her parents would say in the matter. Her first mission and it turned sour from the start. The only person she could blame was herself.

Punching the wall, she looked down to the ground. "If I was only stronger, strong enough to protect everyone. None of this would've ever happened."

Aaron Sohm
Outside of Antlion Pit to Antlion's Lair

Aaron Saw a Man with slightly green skin and red hair burst out of the sand, shocked his tail's fluff's up,he see's the man pour a potion onto wound's and before Aaron gets a word out the man jumps back into the swirling sand..

Aaron: Dont know what that was about but he seem's like he's in trouble,Better give em a hand..!

Aaron Stand's up and flinches from the wound on his leg still,he picks his sword up and stand's outside the sand swirl......Man Im crazy for doing this who know's whats down there...He thinks to himself he then shakes his head and jumps down into the sand,he fall's through to the floor of the pit, and see's the man fighting a bizarre monster,Aaron run's up and help's him out

((OOC:Hope, this is ok i kinda made a room since he jumped into a swirl of sand xD; ))

"Well that's no way to greet a lady."

Ricard sighed at this, even back in his training days he didn't think much of her, the fact she had appeared here again had to be destiny toying with him, he just hoped he didn't have to play teacher...

Before he even had a chance to walk away from her she already had her arms around him in a tight hug, if there was one thing Ricard didn't like, it was hugs.

"You're such a badass."

"And you're such a nuisance" Ricard was about to push her off of him when she moved off voluntarily, backflipping to pick up her sword

"Just call me Twinsword. Everyone in Oeilvert calls me that, you know."

"Least this shows you got your priorities right... Well an enemy is an enemy I suppose..."

"So you wanna fight, or are you gonna tuck your tail and run?"

"Why would I bother tucking tail from you? The very fact I found this place is a testament to your inferiority, plus, I don't fight people that don't understand the way of the warrior" at this Ricard put his Katana away and pulled off his helmet "Underneath all that armour i'm still a regular man, what you fail to realise is a warrior isn't shaped by their combat and will to fight but by their own thoughts and feelings, to stay chained down by anyone's thoughts just makes you another man's marionette, remember that"

At that Ricard discarded his helmet on the floor and started to walk towards the opening he came in through, starting to climb through the tight space "I won't give away your position now, but if you try to compromise my own mission, don't think i'll take it easy on you"

Lan Ester

"I'm willing, but... I have to uphold the Ipsen Knight's reputation..."

Lan sighed at her response. "I guess if you care more about your reputation instead of doing what needs to be done." Lan pushed off of the wall and picked up his pack. The green robed genome left the room while muttering, "If you are willing to help, I'll be on my way to Clerya to cause some chaos to the olivert's force." Lan muttered. Lan exited the inn as he looked to the sky.

"now, Let's see if I can's stir things up now."

Sir Fratley
Robert Crescent
Freya Crescent

"As you command, your majesty." Fratley spoke. The initial plan of evacuation wouldn't be changed, but rather, Fratley had to add to it. Aside from Freya's company of knights, any expenditure of the other companies would leave Burmecia at less than maximum defensive capacity. However, Robert and his companions had already faced Olievert's summoner and bested her in battle according to his son's report. The summoner was still alive, but it proved that Robert and his companions were suited to the task.

Once outside of the King's throne room, Fratley led Robert to where Freya was holding her meeting. The room was heavily guarded and well lit from the inside so that there would be no place for a spy to hide, even in the rafters above, which were also guarded.

"We've gone over this plan five times before, but we will go over it one last time. There can be absolutely no room for error." Freya spoke as she addressed her men. "We are to go into Cleyra under cover of night through the hidden tunnel which used to connect Cleyra to the outside world back when the sandstorm was still active. John, you will contact our inside informant to light the church tower. That's the signal our informant has been spreading to the townsfolk for them to head to the tunnel. The rest of you are to cover their escape. Pull any pursuers into the tunnel once the Cleyrans have been evacuated and bombard them with your dragon spells. Once the Cleyrans have exited the tunnel, we will escort them back to Burmecia. I will cover your backs during our retreat, along with Fredrick's squad and Jess' squad." Freya addressed her men. Near the ending part, she looked up as the door opened, her eyes widening a bit as she saw Fratley and Robert enter in.

"There's going to be a slight change of plan Freya. Your plan will commence as you have explained to these men before, however we now have additional orders." Fratley explained to Freya and those in the room. "The king has requested that Robert and the survivors from the Alexandrian reinforcements are going to join you. While your knights rescue the citizens, Robert and his friends will seek out Stadtholder Samuel and rescue him. They will be his personal escorts. Once you return here Freya, all forces must go on alert. The enemy has a summoner, and thus access to Eidolons. The two that Robert has seen and fought against were lightning based, but we cannot rule out other elemental types." Fratley explained.

Freya gave a nod and looked to her troops. "You all heard that? Good. Now move out and get ready. Operation will commence at 2200 hours!" Freya called out. With that, the troops cleared the room, leaving the family remaining inside. Freya smiled to Robert and placed her hand on his shoulder. "And to think you were only knighted two months ago. I wish we had time for a proper dinner, but you've got your part to do now. But before you go back to your friends, take this."

Freya removed a yellow ring from her finger and handed it to Robert. "This was a prize I had won in the Festival of the Hunt. If you end up facing those lightning Eidolons again, this will give you a strong edge in the fight." Freya spoke with a smile.

Robert took the Coral Ring from his mother and placed it on his finger. "Thanks mom. We should have the dinner once the mission is over." Robert spoke to her with a smile.

Robert took his leave and headed back to the inn where his companions were. He'd seek out Annelise, since she was pretty much the one he trusted most of the entire group. He could see her back to him with her fist against the wall. He could only guess what was going through her mind. "There was nothing you could have done. Everyone was caught off-guard. However, there is something you can do now." Robert spoke to her. "I need you to gather everyone here. We have a very important mission, direct order from King Puck himself. Once everyone is here in this room, I'll tell you all the mission." he spoke to her.

"Why would I bother tucking tail from you? The very fact I found this place is a testament to your inferiority, plus, I don't fight people that don't understand the way of the warrior"

"What do you mean inferior?" The Twinsword asked, her hands on her hips "You have some nerve!"

But that thought changed when the knight took off his helmet and revealed himself to be Ricard.

"Underneath all that armour i'm still a regular man, what you fail to realise is a warrior isn't shaped by their combat and will to fight but by their own thoughts and feelings, to stay chained down by anyone's thoughts just makes you another man's marionette, remember that"

The Twinsword looked at Ricard as he walked towards the exit, but not before saying,

"I won't give away your position now, but if you try to compromise my own mission, don't think i'll take it easy on you"

Even though they were enemies, it wasn't as if she was going to stop him now. It was only after he left that she said, "But...I'm doing this for you..." She decided it would be best to follow Ricard for a bit, see what he knows on the situation. Even if he knew she was following, she wasn't going to give up her goal.

----
Annelise Steiner

"There was nothing you could have done. Everyone was caught off-guard. However, there is something you can do now."

Annelise quickly looked up then turned her head towards Robert, who most likely returned from Burmecia Palace.

"What is it Robert?"

"I need you to gather everyone here. We have a very important mission, direct order from King Puck himself. Once everyone is here in this room, I'll tell you all the mission."

With the situation as dire as it is now, it was understandable why the King of Burmecia would make a request from the Alexandrian Knights that survived the crash on the Enterprise. Standing up and picking up her sword, she said to Robert. "All right. I will do so right away." The Alexandrian knight left her room sheathing her sword, and started heading down the rooms. The first room was open and peeking inside was Alleria sitting down on the bed. "Pardon my interruption, but we have a mission ordered from King Puck. If you will, please meet in my inn room, and we'll explain there."

She would listen to what the Ipsen Knight would say before moving to the next room, finding a sleeping ninja inside. Not wanting to disturb him, she moved down to the lobby, ready to go and find Ricard, as well as any others who were willing to listen to what she had to say.
