How thorough are you when it comes to washing your hands?

I always ALWAYS use a double helping of soap, i wash between my fingers, back of my hands, etc. Everytime my hands get dirty i wash them, yea even when i'm doing a dirty job. Though when i do that, it takes longer for me to finish what i'm doing.

I make a note to wash my hands a lot.

I hate the thought of touching my face or eating lunch etc if my hands haven't been washed first.

I use the phone at work a lot too, so I make regular stops to the tea room to wash my hands and what not, just because everyone else has touched the same phone as well.

When I cook and my hands get sticky or whatever I can't stand it and so I'll constantly keep washing in between cooking. Even if they're only to get messy again. >.<

I'm not obsessed and wash them just because I touched the surface of something, but once I feel that they do need to be washed again and that it's been a while since I last washed them, I make a point of cleaning them.

I used to be really, really terrible about washing my hands.

I remember that once an old friend of mine at school picked up a caterpillar, and then touched my school bag and pencil case. From then on I had to wash my hands every time I touched my school bag and pencil case, and even when I got a new bag or pencil case in my mind the germs had switched to these new ones and everything I owned at school, and my perception of school in general was very dirty, even when I moved schools...

Little things like that are only an example really.

I used to wash my hands every time I walked past the toilet door if it was left open, in case any nasty germs leaped at me and attached themselves to my hands.

I'm not as silly as that anymore, but occassionally little things get to me.

As for the act of washing my hands itself... I don't put as much care into it as you'd expect for what I just described. I never got into the habit of getting the soap inbetween the fingers so much, as when I was younger I just assumed I'd be 100% clean with a a load of soap on my hands and then to rub it off under the tap, not taking time to get inbetween each finger.

Though I guess, as I think about it, I probably did cover my whole hands, and get between each finger, but I wasn't thinking so much about that, but more that I needed to wash my hands.

I've been trying to stop this and all my nasty habits as things like this can take up a lot of time when you add it all together. I'd argue that one of the reasons I feel as if I haven't lived yet, and everyone else who is even younger than me has, is because things like this have wasted my time when I could have been playing a game, watching a film, reading a book or doing my work earlier.

I wash my hands alot, but I wont use soap. Wash them under the tape, give them a dry, then use anit-bactial gel on them. Soap dries my hands out.

Usually when it comes to hygiene, I take it moderately seriously. I do not like the idea of eating anything (even if I am using a fork or spoon) without a thorough wash with anti-bacterial gel. I avoid using soap bars because they can also be potentially dirty as well depending on how often it has been used and how many have used it beforehand.

I also don't like touching my face or my more valuable possessions (such as my phone and iPod) without washing my hands. I'm very wary of dirty fingerprints on my possessions. If my hands are sweaty, I'll be often washing them as well.

Quite frequently. I'm pretty much like Kandy and Olivia here. When I'm cooking, I find myself washing my hands often if I touched any poultry and whatnot. I don't even have to stop and think about it - it just comes automatically. I also don't like using soap bars to wash my hands...you can get cross-contamination that way. I'm even pretty skeptical touching the sink in public too, and will normally turn it on using the back of my hands and not my fingers. And then from there I scrub my hands like crazy, and yes, I make a note about cleaning between my fingers.

IM not OCD about it. Im in a workshop 9 hours a day so naturally i wash my hands before eating etc but i dont wash them every 30 mions or whatever as theyre just getting dirty again seconds later.
I dont touch things on a bus then think 'oh fuck, germs. . .must wash hands''
I couldnt care a fuck who else had touched that bannister or whaever, its not gunna kill me is it?
Before touching food i will wash my hands though. If im making something like a sandwich and i need to slice the cheese il wash my hands. I only do that though because other people will use it. If i lived alone i probadly wouldnt bother.
I keep my hands clean but im not ocd about it.

Of course you wouldn't, Lew! Considering your past incident with a banister... :wacky:

Ahem, anyhow, back on topic. I do wash my hands often, but I'm not OCD about it. Like, if we go out and buy loads of stuff at WalMart, I usually keep a bottle of Germ-X in my purse around this season since it's flu season. I usually use some on my hands as well as have Logan use it on his hands after we leave the store. Better safe than sorry I say. The flu can be nasty business.

Always before preparing food, I always wash my hands. Like Mitsuki, while I'm cooking, if I touch raw poultry or any type of raw meat, I always wash my hands after touching it because I have to touch other foods. Usually I wash my hands the most when I'm cooking/preparing any type of food as I'd rather not spread off germs into the food I'm trying to cook, and then of course I wash them before eating as it's only the polite and proper thing to do.

Seeing as I work in the food industry, I wash my hands quite a lot :mokken:

I do the usual after the loo, or before cooking a meal, stuff like that, and because of work I am pretty thorough with it, I wash my hands like the sheet at work says, it's a routine after all.

Hahaha i like bannisters :ryan:

My mums pretty clean crazy. She bought one of em wee germ sprays and she said to me.
'Here you can keep this on you at all times and keep your hands clean.''
Too me thats ridiculous. Why would i wanna carry about a bottle of germ hand spray in my pocket, thats just a pain and completely unnecesary-__- I think shes convinced that il catch bird flu by not washing my hands after touching something like a doorknob. Shes just fussing over something stupid imo

I find myself to also be habitual when it comes to hand washing, this was mainly due to my previous job in the catering industry making it quite the habit. If my hands are even slightly dusty, straight to the soap and water I go.

I'm not to bad with it as much as I used to be however, this is after I used to overdo it and ended up with dermitius from over-abrasioning the skin and it took quite a while to get rid of.

If they look clean, they're clean. I don't always wash my hands after a pish because believe it or not my cock's made of skin and I don't pee all over my hands. I'm sure there are a lot worse germs than the ones that come off my dangly bits. If I'm preparing food I'll wash my hands, if I've been for a shite I'll wash my hands, if they're dirty/covered in ink/toner I'll wash them when I've stopped doing the thing that's made them dirty. There's no point in doing something that gets them dirty then washing them half way through said task.

As for all these germ sprays, they're a waste of time imo, I think it's daft. We're spending so much time killing off germs that probably won't do us any harm by the time something harmful DOES come along our immune system'll be saying "I've not needed to fight stuff like this before, where's your germ spray?".

slap the soap on, rub my hands together, get between the fingers and the top of my hands. Rinse until all the soap's off my hands.

the end, no biggie. I'm not exactly a germaphobe.

I'm not really a germaphobe at least I don't think so. I wash before and after I eat, after using the restroom, handling garbage, and after work. Some exceptions do apply of course. As far as how I wash, I use liquid soap, get the top of my hands, between my fingers and under my fingernails then rinse under hot water. Finally I use hand sanitizer to top it off.

I hate the feeling of dirty hands-- yuck.

I do wash my hands often though before and after a meal. I do prefer Germ-X or some shit so I know that 99.9% of germs are gone :mokken:

I don't wash them until their about to fall off but I do it well enough to where I know it's nice and clean.
Supposedly singing the abc's twice gets your hands clean.
>_>
-tries it-
