How long does it take you to beat a game?

Hmm... :hmmm: For all the previous games that I have beaten, most of them were beaten at around 40-70 hours, but it really depends how I am feeling about grinding, perfect files, sidequests etc.

Depends on the game, but I'm very thorough and I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so they generally take a while. My first times through FFX and FFXII too 185 hours and 205 hours respectively. I'm working on Assassin's Creed 2 now and I believe I've been playing for something like 25 hours and I'm close to 90% done. I've been doing all the minor events as well, including assassination contracts, so I'd say I got through this one pretty quickly.

Like everyone else it depends entirely on the game and how much I enjoy it, I've been known to finish games within mere days or even hours of starting it.

Thats why I love RPG's so much, there not something you can complete fully in a day or two.

I am the same way. It depends on how much I like the game.

For Action/Adventure games I usually finish most games in 2-3 weeks.

For RPGs I usually finish in 1-3 months. Complicated schedules really hurt my time. Funny, because I remember about a few years ago anytime I played an RPG I usually finished it in 2 weeks.

Depends. I usually take a little longer than average though. Like if a game takes 8-10 hours to beat, it'll take me 10-12 hours.

I don't want to say I'm slow, but I am.

It depends. If it is an RPG I would take my time to beat it so around 100-120 hours if its really long. Fir instance Xenosaga III was so long and took me 130-135 hours to complete because I did everything in the game. I usually like beating a game and then doing all the acheivements and stuff on my 2nd run through.

It can take me anywhere from months to years to finish a game. I have a habit of buying new games, playing for a while, buying another new game and getting distracted from the game I'm playing. It's a vicious cycle. :gonk:

I also have certain gaming moods. Sometimes I'm really in the mood to play an RPG and then sometimes I just want to shoot something. I also go through periods of not really wanting to play games at all.

I have a very limited amount of gaming time due to work and school as well.

i do not have a et time some times it takes me a day while others months.
ffh7 first time 4 weeks ffh 8 4 days ffh 9 1 week 3 days kindom hear 1 6 days kindom heart 2 1 week and 2 days mass affect 1 and 2 both under 2 days assasin creed 1 right under a week the second one 3 days here some games i really like that i beat

Dead Thread

It depends on just how into the game I am. If I'm super-ultra pumped about a game, anywhere from three days to a week. If I'm only kinda interested, it will usually be a good few weeks. But that mostly only goes for RPGs.

Revival time~

Its pretty random for me. Depending on whether or not the game was too difficult, and whether or not I have a strong enough interest in it... And whether or not I was able to resist using cheat codes :P

In general, I take about a few months, given some good amount of dedication.

For a 6-10 hour average game, I'd probably take a little over a week. If it's an amazing, addicting game, maybe a little less than a week.

As for a LOONG 30-60 hour game like Final Fantasy, it's usually at least one month, most of the time 2-5 months.

Final Fantasy VII took me a little over a year due to it's buggy PC version that messed up after a while and wouldn't open, until I found a solution later.

Usually about 3-4 weeks. It takes me some time to absorb the game in, and enjoy it. I'm usually slow to start off.

If we're talking one of the shorter games, which usually have much shorter or faster introductions, probably 2 weeks.

If we are talking about RPG games, usually around 2-3 weeks

Any other game usually can beat it in 1-2 days depending on how long the game is (fighting, FPS ect.)

Adventure games (legend of Zelda Mario games ect.) about 1 week if I'm playing it through, if im taking my time usually about 2 weeks at most.

I suck at games bad, so they usually take me about 2 years to complete. Final Fantasy 6 is the worst though, that took me about eight years to complete. Yes eight years to complete...
:jimberry:

But sometimes, I take breaks and sometimes go on to play different games. But still if I was better at gaming, it shouldn't really take that long to complete a video game....

At the moment Castlevania on the DS, and Tactics A2 is taking me about a year. Yes, I fail bad.
:sad3:

it's random for me. If it's a game i really love I can finish it within a week (depending on how long it is) if it's a game I am not too excited over or something I just play casually but would eventually like to finish, it will take me months. I am a very slow gamer, I get distracted easily and often buy too many games at once and forget to finish them.

It depends on the game really. Some games are so boring I don't even finish them. Some are so intriguing that I literally waste time exploring every single corner (like FF :D).

For FF games I've put at most 6 months. I've finished certain games (FPS mostly) in under a month. I also have the annoying habit of playing multiple games at the same time which isn't a big help to estimating how much time I put to finish a game.

I might beat your record. :hmmm: I started FF6 in 2006-2007 and I still have yet to see the ending. I was almost halfway into the game when I stopped playing, and I don't have the save file anymore. I'm not sure I'll ever finish this game, though I'm curious to know more about it. One day...

Depends on the game.

Once I really get into something which is relatively short, such as Uncharted, Vanquish and the Timesplitters games, I can probably get them over and done with in a few days time, depending on my free time and how good/rubbish I am, which tends to fluctuate every now and then. Something still relatively short compared to the monsters that are RPGs but still with significant content like Assassin's Creed may take me around a week and a half to a couple of weeks because I enjoy doing as many sidequests as I can and attain the best equipment before I decide to head to the final levels.

I don't even want to know how badly I fare with RPGs that at most give you around a 50-60 hour story. I have this awful tendency of trying to power-grind as much as possible, or do as many sidequests as I can to reap as many of the rewards as possible. If the game still doesn't captivate me 20 hours in, I easily lose interest and relegate it to the dust, like I have for Star Ocean 4, with its goddamn unlikeable characters. If it does, I can literally spend nearly forever on it and still not get it finished until an eon later. I mean, I still haven't done with Xenoblade for instance. It's been 7 months since it came out. Granted, three quarters of the time I've not been home, but you still get the idea.

It depends on the game for me as well.

Usually, I can finish most games in a week. I have a weird state of mind that if I play a game, and get at least halfway through, then I have to finish it. There is no "I can't finish."

Although, one exception of which is given to Resonance of Fate. I just didn't really get into the whole game that much, nor like the mechanics and such.

Action and Adventure games, take me like 3 days to complete, when I play them, I play them to the end, no matter how horrid the game is. I don't judge and or criticize until I finish the game itself.

What a good looking question Mitsuki

I do not beat games, I serenade them into submission with an orchestra of nimble fingers. I play a concert of button taps to bring the encoded optical disc to its knees. I conduct an opera of inputs to dispense love and death alike. So like maybe one to two weeks I guess
