have you ever won contests excluding video games and games in the arcade, like drinking contests or wrestling contests?

I have won quite many comtests,which most of them were all arm wrestling contests,and i got medals in return, i also won 1 contest for the one to drink 10 water battles first, even a contest to drink a lot of cofee with no sugar first. I never had a food eating contest:gasp:

elementary-fictional arm wrestling contests
high school-official arm wrestling contests
college-fictional drinking contests and arm wrestle contests
university-next in line for me,hope its fun ^_^

have u ever been or participated in contests or fictional contests with friends? have u won?

I wish I could win random contests like arm-wrestling or drinking. That would be totally awesome.

But no, I do singing stuff.

I've also done high school talent competitions - which was fun. So much less competitive = more relaxed.
I've tried out for Annie off-broadway before, but I was short and asian, so I got booted :wacky:

I'd love to win raffles more often, but I just don't have that kind of luck (^～^；)

there were high school talent competitions too in my school,i remember those ladies competiting:x3:
 
Dunno if it counts, but in 4th grade I was one step away from going to the National Spelling Bee. County Champion and all that. Could have been on ESPN, except I didn't know how to spell 'kestrel'. :sad3:

OHH! I remember those!!! I was pretty awesome in fifth grade with those little spelling bees in the classroom... don't think I would ever have ended up on the National Spelling Bee contests, though. That would've been so epic as a kid.

I remember I hated those words ending with 'gh' or words with like 'ough'. I always seemed to flip the two letters and lose the contest.
 
Yeah, I didn't really realize how close I was, or how sweet an experience it would have been at the time. Over my head, and all that. I never managed to get as far as I did that first time. I won the District in 5th and 6th grades, but couldn't make it past County.

I always struggled with anything I didn't recognize. Which I guess isn't all that strange or unique, really. But if I could find a part of the word that I could handle, the rest of it would usually fall into place.
 
I've won many a game of Strip poker whilst drunk at house party's.

my friend had a Beer pong tournament at his house during a party once, which i decided to take part in, although i didn't do that well, i lost in the first round to be precise,

my friends and i figured out that i have been punched in the face more than them, if that counts at all.
 
I can't really think of what contests, I really participated in events though:

Eighth Grade - My 4x400 team won in the State Championship in track. I also won quite a 1st place medals in the 800 event throughout the track season.

6th grade - My allstar baseball team won the little league regionals. Individually won MVP of the season, only it was not for strictly because I hustled, but more because I encouraged other players when our team was going through the ringer. A ball given to me naming me Sparky (short for Mr. sparkplug), and now that gay dog on South Park is named Sparky :jtc:

I had a great laugh at this. There was a girl in my school called Hayley Field and she was like...the Queen of arm wrestlig competitions. She beat every girl and every guy and in all honesty I don't think she was trying too hard. Nearly ripped my arm clean off haha. And the thing is, she's wasn't huge or anything. In fact, she was the person you'd be afraid to break their arm or something haha.

School Awards: Most irritating <3. Most likely to answer back <3. I am proud of that.

Came second in a charity football tournament which was pretty good I suppose. Seeing as it was people from all over the place. I remember the game we lost. I had the worst game ever right after the best game ever. I can shamefully admit I fucked that shit up for the lads =/

I won a rock climbing competition on a school holiday before too. See who could hold on the longest. to be fair, none of us had done it before so I don't consider it to be a wonderful achievment.
 
Back in High School I won a few things.

'Twas is girl powerlifting and won:
2 4th places medals
1 3rd place medal
1 second place

And I remember in my sophmore year I almost made it to state but missed it by 5 pounds :hmph:

Well, I did participate in quite a few art competitions both in school and out of school in the past few years. I distinctly remember coming first place in one of them (however I cannot remember for the life of me what the prize was) and runner-up at least twice.

Sports wise, I remember my hockey team narrowly winning a trophy in an inter-school hockey tournament about a couple of years ago. It was a well-deserved effort considering a teammate was injured in the middle of the event and a freak hailstorm came down while we were playing.
 
My hockey team reached the county finals once, with me in defence :ryan: we didn't win, but my school has never been particularly renowned for being good at hockey. So reaching the finals was like a win for us :ryan:

Also, last month, me and my rifle shooting team (made up of me and 5 boys :mokken:) won a county trophy :ryan:

Wow :gasp: I only made it to the county level, but mine was 4th grade too :lew: My failing word was "bubonic" :ffs: I got a cute little 5" trophy from winning second place in my school though :awesome:

I also won a few "honorable mentions" in art contests in elementary school, as well as 3rd place in one of the Science Fairs :D For doing an analysis of calcium carbonate presence in different types of Florida sand, if I remember correctly :hmmm: And also in high school I won third place in a short story competition, which got my story printed in a collection for either the county or the district :hmmm:; and also second place in an essay contest about how the media (including video games like FF :awesome:) influenced me as a person throughout my life. I won $500 for that one, and all I really did was describe my hobbies--and mentioned things like the way I learned some new vocabulary words from games like FFVI and IV ("veritable", "lecherous", "portent", etc.) :D And which, in a glorious act of recursion, I spent the prize money on another form of media, a nice POD kidney-bean effects processor for my guitar :ryan: (See, playing video games all day CAN help you make money! XD)

Oh, and also, when I was a teenager I won an extra copy of a Goo Goo Dolls CD that I already had for sending in 500 entries into the VH1 Backyard Barbecue contest they used to have, where you could have a particular band come to your house and play a concert in your backyard :x3: They were the featured band that year so I thought I'd give it a try, but though I didn't win the concert, at least I was a runner-up :) And I also won concert tickets for a Third Eye Blind show a few years back from being the 8th caller in a radio station contest, but I ended up giving them to my guitar teacher and his wife because I already had bought like eighth-row seats, and the ones I won (which I'd been expecting to be front row or VIP or something) were about 15 or so rows back from me :lew: Just goes to show they don't always give away the best ones, you're really better just buying them the second they go on sale.

Other than these though, I haven't really won any other competitions that I can remember :hmmm: I might've placed in a fencing tournament by now as well if I didn't always have to miss them because of having to work on Saturday mornings :jtc:
 
When iw as younger i had upwards of about 20 medals for swimming. ALl bronze and silver and not a single gold :sad3:
Beisdes that i cant really think of much, you get the odd drinking game or what have you but they alwyas end badly :lew:

I don't think so, I have never dared to enter one. I have always thought the chances of me winning were slim to none so yeah...I suppose that's what always held me that. Haha...

Ive won rosettes when I had my horse Levi, my fav was the fancy dress when I dressed him as a unicorn (not hard lol) and I was a fairy. We came second :)

I then entered a Space Jam competition to win a Michael Jordan 6'6ft stand up and some Space Jame goodies! My name was chosen and I was beyond happy.

I put my name into a hat to win some new Nike football boots in school. It was done for a laugh and my name was chosen! The guys werent impressed XD

I also won 1st prize in a Halloween competition and I was dressed up as Harry Potter! 1 lad even believed I was really him and was quizzing me on stuff and asking where Hedwig was!! Made my night :)

Oh and my dad won my PS1 on local radiostation Key103 when they first came out back in the day. I was beyond happy XD
 
congrats everyone to your achievements in life

I also did wrestling but not in contests, but i didnt do much wrestling cuz everyone was afraid to go against me lol.
