Fate: Sign Up and Discussion

I'll go as fast as I want, thank you very much.

I'm still sick so I can't spend as long as I used to focusing on writing because it gives me a headache -_-

I claimed second-in-command for it when I signed up, though I'll give it to you instead if you want Channy.

Also, VIKKI-TAICHO! Move faster so can update my history!

I'm not really all that bothered to have it. Tbh I wouldn't know how to be a second in command now that I think about it, she's more of a seducing lackey methinks. But I was just curious is all.

Theres the bio. Gave the Swords something to start off with when this starts.

Name: Seth Morgan

Age:19

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Bisexual

Appearance: Seth is a scrawy teenager standing at a little over six foot tall and at about 140 lbs. He has chin length straight black hair that sticks up in the back and typically wears a black short sleeve shirt, black skinny jeans and black Converse. His lower lip is pierced on both sides, both ears have three lobe piercings and his left eyebrow is pierced as well. His eyes are rimmed in black from sleepless days and eyeliner and match his black nails. The Tower card hangs from his neck as a pendant inside a plastic case, always under his shirt.

Personality: Bipolar. He shifts between rage and depression as easily as others would blink their eyes. His possession of the Tower arcana has only deepened the degree of these changes and made them more prevalent. In either state he is tactical, able to think clearly when others may not. His tone never changes despite whatever mood he is in; it is always a cold, emotionless voice, the likes of which you feel that the owner has killed in cold blood.

In his rage he has a quick temper and an even quicker kick, unafraid to take things to a fight if need be. In his depression he often ends up hurting himself just to remind himself that he is still alive. He cares only for himself, doubting that anyone else does. He rarely if ever opens up to any one now. With an unsubsiding hatred of others he refuses to either work or travel with anyone unless they prove their worth first and even then only grudgingly. He is not above sacrificing others to get what he wants. He keeps a nocturnal life, traveling by night and sleeping by day.

Weapon: Tower Hammers, Throne Blade x2

Faction: Swords

Major Arcana (if any): The Tower

History: The only son of a rich family in Michigan, he was diagnosed with CIPA only a few months after being born and bipolar at the age of 8. His life was the same as any overly privledged kid: he went to a private school and had everything handed to him. His mother was the only one that really cared about him while his father hardy took notice of him at all.

When he was 15 though his bouts of depression got worse. Combined with his CIPA he ended up cutting himself, not just for a visual reminder he was still alive but so that he could have some measure of happiness, even if it was only the temporary effects of endorphins. This was written off as being a reaction to both his conditions. It was clear to his psychiatrist that the effect of the meds he was taking were now having little or no effect.

"We'll fix both. Throw him in martial arts. If he wants to get hurt let there be a purpose to it," were his father's words. With the meds having no effect, Seth was put into a Capoeira class to maximize hs natural agility. To his parents this seemed to work as an effective outlet for his rage and caused the masochism to trickle to a minimum. The martial arts had no effect on the emotional end of his problems though.

The cuts and the frequent bouts of depression and rage had gotten him bad attention in the school. Often he ended up getting attacked by the bullies in the school for his scrawny figure and the cuts that lined his forearms. More often than not though these fights ended up with the bullies getting hurt as Seth flipped his moods. It culminated into the manifestation of his Sword powers when he was ambushed on the way home by one of his bullies. His opponent had pulled out a knife and charged him only to find a pair of swords sticking out of his back. His bully was left with two serious puncture wounds bleeding onto the streets.

It was at this point that Seth began to realize what the world truly was: a place where the misunderstood were persecuted and ground into the dirt without a chance for salvation. Only now Seth had a way to fight back. He steeled himself to invite all the persecution he could gather and prove them wrong; he would change the world. His clothes, eyes and nails became black, his arms were open to view the scars, his lips, ears and eyebrow were pierced and he became the cold emotionless man he is now.

His mother was worried about him but all Seth would respond with was "I'm going to change the world..." Afraid of what might happen, the following summer his mother took the family to Ireland for vaction, hoping a change of scenery would help her son. It was here that he obtained his Arcana.

While on a castle tour he broke away from the group to see the forbidden parts of the castle. He followed a path out of the castle and through the woods to a stone tower that stood out of the way. He had walked at least a mile away and there was now a storm coming in. As he turned to run back to the castle the rain began to fall in heavy droplets which quickly sped up. Giving up he ducking into the tower which was mostle dry except for a portion of the ceiling where the rain fell through. As he watched the rain fall from within a bolt of lightning struck the tower, catching the roof on fire before slithering in.

Seth watched in amazement as the lighting came toward him and took the shape of a man. "You would want to change the world," it stated. "To stop feeling persecution," he answered. "You ask the impossible of life," countered the elemental. "And you would know how it could be possible?" Seth asked in a sarcastic tone. "I AM change. If you would desire my force then you must best me." The elemental channeled lighting from its hands into two physical hammers, one charged with fire, the other with lightning.

"If that is what I must do to change everything," was all Seth said as he manifested his dual blades. It took every ounce of his strength and skill but finally Seth pierced what would have been the elemental's heart. The elemental looked down. "If I had been a man i would've died. I yield... Everything changes. But now it is up to you to decide for better or worse," were the elemental's final words as he dissolved in a puddle of flame. The flame coalesced into a card showing a tower much like the one Seth stood in, stricken by lightning and on fire with people flung from the windows. Inscribed below the picture were the words, The Tower.

Seth took the card. As soon as he did the rain stopped and he ran back to the castle and quickly found the group. Rejoining them as though nothing had happened the guide eventually took them to a window. "Beyond those woods, only about a short run away, is the remains of a mill. You used to be able to see the tower from here but eight years ago a bolt of lightning struck it and the building beside it caught fire. All that is left is about 5 ft of stone upright in the shape of the tower; the rest are littering the ground around it."

Looking at the card, Seth realized that it was far from ordinary just like his swords. He returned home without saying a word to his parents and placed the card in a pendant that he still wears under his shirt. Like he knew would happen, he became even more persecuted the following year but he fough back, proving the world wrong each time. Over time his purpose became meaningless as the students began to respect him. Or at least so he thought. He realized that he could convince anyone to do anything, thanks to the Tower and soon had the entore school under his control. He had discovered power and this became his new purpose.

Everything went well until he was 17 when a transfer student joined the academy. The boy was seemingly like he was, disillusioned with the world. Seth didn't feel the need to control someone so much like him until the new student confessed his feelings for Seth and made out with him. In his surprise, Seth didn't resist and the boy ran off in shame at Seth's following silence. It wasn't until later he realized that he didnt resist because he had wanted it to continue. The only thing that had gone through his mind was the elemental's words "Everything changes."

That night over dinner Seth came out with it. For the first time in his life, Seth's father paid attention to him and began screaming about how his son was not going to be gay. The resulting lecture lasted two hours and with the promise that if it did not stop then Seth would be disowned and left at the whim of the world. As he left for his room that night Seth finalized that his father was one of the persecutors and resolved that he would not stay where he was not wanted. He packed his belongings and left in his car.

That was the last he ever saw of his family. Seth traveled the US for some time. Over the course he did keep in touch with his mother who was still concerned for him. She opened an account in his name so he would never be without money. For her it was so she would know he was still alive; as long as there was money being drawn she could believe her son was still out there.

Seth was drawn to places of major change: New York, San Francisco, Washington D.C. His skills in persuasion and desire for power gave him control of not only 14 senate members and 5 state governors but also the secretaries of state and the interior. From here he moved out into Europe where he gained influence over a total of 22 in the British Parliament, the ministers of defence and justice in France and the prime minister of Sweden.

As of now the Swords have aquired him and know that he has possession of the Tower but not of what faction, if any, he belongs to.

Finally got around to writing this. I like it... But I feel as if something is vastly wrong with it. Maybe I'm just tired... :hmmm:

Name: Jack Ripthorn

Age: Appearance of about 20 years old. Actual age has been forgotten.

Gender: Male

Appearance:
9zmtue.jpg

The woman in the background is The Magician, forever a part of Jack's mind.

Personality: Jack is best described as an egocentric, conceited, egotistical, narcissistic, megalomaniac. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants and he could care less whom he has to crush to get it. He treats his fellow faction members with courtesy and respect, and are about the only people in the world he gives genuine care about. However, he can be very nice at times to those who get closer to him.

He prides himself on his tactical abilities, and his overall abilities in combat. He doesn't fight with chivalry, nor honor, and could care less how victory is achieved, as long as it is achieved. He has a soft spot for cats, children, and women.

While most psychiatrists would describe him as “schizophrenic”, Jack describes himself as “just a bit unstable”. A pathological liar, manipulator, and deceiver at heart Jack will lie to your face and not crack the slightest smile, even if he knows that you know he's lying. Simply put, he just can't help himself.

He will only answer to The King of Wands.

Weapon: Besides his magical powers and the ability to control elements, Jack will sometimes use a chainsaw (as seen above). Or, in case he needs a slight boost in power, his wand: The Cocytus Wand.

Faction: House of Wands.

Major Arcana (if any): The Magician.

History: Jack was once a very good, straight laced student at a prestigious school in England. Nice to everyone he met, and would never hurt a soul. However, this all changed the day that Jack and his family were on vacation. A group of rather successful thieves had heard of their arrival in town, and made it their mission to steal everything they owned. However, Jack's Father attempted to defend his riches over his Wife and his only Son.

He watched, hiding in a closet, as his Father was murdered, his Mother raped, and his fortunes stolen. This became the turning point that caused Jack to lose bits and pieces of his mind.

Jack spent a total of 4 years tracking them down. He eventually caught up to them, exactly 13 days before his 20th birthday. However, the revenge was cut very short as they smashed a bottle over his head and began beating him to death.

Critically wounded, delirious, and angry, the Physical Manifestation of The Magician saw his anguish, and offered him power beyond his comprehension. Jack didn't think twice, he took her powers and as he did so, she became integrated inside of him. Leading him on, speaking to him, forever beside him. She watched as he pulled himself together, and using only electricity from his fingertips, and an Osteotome, he killed the thieves, and never looked back.

This came at a price. Jack was never the same again, and he now didn't age. He was pretty sure he could still be killed, but he would never die by natural causes. He also developed an addiction. Once a week, he had to kill someone. This went on for years, and a few small slip ups, and a slight ego boost led to him becoming what police and citizens of the world would call “Jack the Ripper”.

Years after, he would find access to the House of Wands. Which he gladly joined, and quickly went through the ranks to become second in command.

Name
Cassidy O'Keeffe

Age
21

Gender
Female

Appearance
Emma_roberts.jpg

Standing at five foot and seven inches, Cassidy has wavy strawberry blonde hair and green eyes, which have been said to have struck fear into many members of the Swords. She has a face that is both angelic and fiercely childlike, and lovely when animated.

Personality
Much of Cassidy's personality is virtually unknown. She is described as clever and cunning, two qualities that earned her the title of the Queen of Swords. It was said that she was crippled from the abuse she suffered under her stepfather and resolved to become a whole new person. And through the personality shift, Cassidy became sadistic and ruthless, someone who wouldn't hesitate to cut down anyone standing in her way.

She shows no remorse for her actions, whether morally right or wrong, and rules over the Swords with an iron fist. She does not appreciate disloyalty or failure. However, Cassidy has been shown to be, if rarely, compassionate about members of the faction being severely injured. On the other hand, she likes to appear strong and does not like it when her emotions are better than her. Despite everything, Cassidy can think things through and likes to plan strategies, which has greatly annoyed her advisors.

Driven by a determination to succeed, she is level-headed and can be fair at times. Because of the abuse she has suffered in her early life, Cassidy can deliver physical and mental abuse to her enemies easily. She does not care how they feel and will not hold back from personal insults. When insulted herself, Cassidy becomes quick-tempered and lashes out. Upon gaining the title of the Queen of Swords, Cassidy's confidence has soared. Despite her cold exterior, she seems to have a warm interior that she rarely shows and is described to be her strongest personality trait.

History
Cassidy O'Keeffe was born in Dublin, Ireland, but her family moved to England six months later. For the majority of her life, she lived in Cumbria with her loving mother, Katherine, and father, Paul. However, her parents divorced when she was twelve. She still remained in contact with her dad until her mum met her stepfather, James, who would become abusive towards both of them. This initially caused Cassidy to become antisocial and withdrawn. One fateful night when Cassidy was sixteen, James had enough and decided to kill them both. Being forced to watch him kill her mother before her eyes, an amazing surge of strength filled through Cassidy's veins and she knocked James out cold. This was where her sadistic nature originated from.

James was subjected to a cruel twist of fate. He was tortured endlessly days towards his death. Cassidy would slit various parts of his body, hoping that he would suffer a slow, painful death. Eventually, she strangled him with the same piece of cloth he had done so with her mother, which made it somewhat ironic. To add further insult, Cassidy dumped his body in the middle of the forest, poured petrol over it and burned it. She did not feel remorse for his death, only acting as the avenging angel to make up for her mother's murder. It was around the same time of Katherine's funeral that Cassidy reconnected with Paul. However, her outlook on life caused her to distance herself from him and so she decided to go travelling for sometime to reconsider what she was going to do in the future.

However, Cassidy did not feel remorse for killing James. Her cold persona emerged the more time she spent alone while away from home. She would go back every few months, the money left in her mother's will supporting her as she went along. At the age of eighteen, Cassidy decided to attend university to further her prospects in life. She was smart and driven to succeed, but sometimes emotionally disturbed, the killing of James partially to thank for this. Although destiny would have written that Cassidy O'Keeffe was to become a solicitor and deliver justice in the name of her fallen mother, there was another one written for her. One that began in the middle of the same forest James' body was burned to ashes. One fateful night when she had just turned twenty years old.

Believing she was a monster and not human at all, Cassidy initially came here to kill herself and rid the world of such an emotionless creature. However, someone came to stop her demise. Attacked by a stranger, who would be later revealed to be a member of the clan of the Swords, she was forced to defend herself with no weapon to aid her. Her ruthless and strategic style of martial arts saw her into defeating her opponent, but all wasn't as it seemed. As quickly as he had appeared, he disappeared and Cassidy was left alone. The night grew darker and she was struck down by a fallen star that bonded with her soul to become her major arcana. On the same night, it was the clan faction known as the Swords that approached her with an offer.

A year has passed and Cassidy hasn't looked back. She has been filled with the knowledge of the ongoing conflict between the Swords and its rival clan factions. Cassidy has settled into the Swords as its dominant Queen and finally found some worth in her pathetic existence after all. Doubt over her election as Queen still eats away at her brain and she can't help feeling that an uprising is about to begin. Not only will the conflict between clan factions become heated, but her own past is about to be dug up ...

I've only got to do the history now... I know what I want to write up for it, it's just getting it down in words that I'm having trouble with. I know exactly how she obtains the Hanged Man...

Question; Would it make sense for her to have inherited the position of Queen from her mother? :hmmm:
