Other side of the coin. I would have made it ten, but...symmetry to other topics FTW.

Here comes my list:

1) Tales of Symphonia - Despite how much my opinion on RPGs has changed since I played it, Tales of Symphonia is still the best game I have ever played. I love EVERYTHING about this game: the real-time battle system, the fantastic cast, the complex and emotional storyline, and the graphics, which at the time were of a totally different style to what I had previously experienced. Tales of Symphonia is more than just another instalment in the Tales series; it's easily the best one of them all.

2) NieR - NieR is so underrated. It has a dark, tragic storyline that is quite the emotional experience, plus some very dry humour. It has that trademark Cavia insanity that only Cavia are capable of producing. Not quite as insane as Drakengard, but still just plain weird. The main cast is a talking book, an old guy out to find his daughter - something you never see in games these days - a monster child, and a hermaphrodite who swears with every other fucking word. What's not to like about this?! The graphics aren't fantastic, but then, graphics mean nothing when you've got a story, a cast, and a soundtrack as good as what is on offer here. NieR boasts the greatest soundtrack ever; nothing else comes even remotely close to matching it. NieR needs more love.

3) Xenoblade Chronicles - After about twenty hours of play, I'm slotting this in at number three already. The battle system is involving and extremely well-designed, the story is gripping and intriguing, the world is unbelievably expansive, the soundtrack is amazing, and whilst this game COULD let me down, I don't believe it is going to, because it takes less time than twenty hours for a promising game to turn out to be a pile of garbage. This is a true return to form for the JRPG genre, after what feels like an eternity of nothing but remakes, ports and shit attempts at making something good.

4) Baten Kaitos: Neverending Wings and the Lost Ocean - This was a truly unique game; for it's time, it was absolutely stunning, easily better than anything the PS2 could come out with, making it a real achievement for the Gamecube. The story was quite shocking at points, the battle system was quite interesting and, above all, it was hard as hell. Baten Kaitos remains one of the toughest RPGs I've ever played, and as it is one of the few games to utilise a card-based battle system and actually get it to work, it gets a mention on my top five for being so different from anything else. Plus the OST is classic Motoi Sakuraba.

5) Zettai Hero Project: Absolute Victory Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman - Just look at the title of the game. This is trademark NIS awesomeness, which I found particularly appealing because of the masses of Power Rangers references. This was clearly targeted at people like me, who grew up watching and loving superhero shows, and the script is absolutely fantastic. Before I'd even started playing it, I was convinced that this was a game I wasn't going to forget in a hurry. The gameplay was even more expansive than Disgaea, with a terrifying amount of customization and, of course, a ridiculously high level cap, which adds for some real challenge. With the exception of Hyperdimension Neptunia - which suffers more than a little in the gameplay department - this is easily the most amusing game I have played to date.

Might edit this...I missed out Star Ocean: The Last Hope, FFXII and a few others I should mention...

My intention is not to give the best games quality wise, but more or less to give the ones that rewarded the most enjoyment at the current time of playing them. For example I think there are several FF games better then VII... but none gave me as much of a rewarding feeling as VII did.

Super Smash brothers 2 - Me and my friends would get together and destroy each other in this game. Definately gave me a lot of enjoyment in the long run of things.

Halo 2 - Same reason as Super smash.

Super Mario 3 - Best super mario game ever made.

Final fantasy VII - Not the best FF game imo... but as a young person I got more enjoyment playing this game then any other FF game has given me.

Legend of the Dragoon - Definately gave me a lot of excitment and fun, and got me hooked on turn based RPG games.

Honerable mentions - Gears of war. FF VI, XII, and IX. Sonic 2. Nightmare creatures. old skool zelda games. World of Warcraft (burning crusade). Diablo 2. Age of empires 2. Starcraft.

In no order:

1). Final Fantasy VI - There was only one thing wrong with this game and it was the length, everything else was fine. It had an awsome soundtrack, good characters, an alright story and Kefka is clearly the best villain ever.

2). Final Fantasy VIII - This was the first final fantasy i ever played. I love the story, the characters and i really love the Junctioning system which a lot of people say sucked (how dare they)

3). GTA Vice City - It's set in the 80's so it has awesome music, the bussinesses you owned gave fun unique missions and i just loved this game.

4). God of War - Do i really need to explain why this is here?

5). Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Sure some people will say "It ruined the franchise as it has no free roam like other Castlevania games and the story is too linear" That's true but i just love it. Wether it's the way that the bosses remind me of Shadow of the collosus, the story, characters i just love this game it was just epic and one of the best moments is Vampire chess, whatever game allows you to break into a vampire castle and play Vampire chess with a little witch girl? None that i know of so that's why this is unique.

Mine are (in no particular order):

Mother 3 (and the rest of the series) - Unique RPGs where instead of swords, you use current day objects, something I've almost never seen. Baseball bats, sticks, pieces of lumber, pans, and yo yos. I just love these games. Not going into story details or anything, but play them :gasp:

Dragon Quest VIII - One of my favorite PS2 games that definitely deserves to be on here. Great characters, great art style, and definitely some really good music. Pair that with the (then) new skill system for DQ, and you've got a damn good game here. Plenty to do, from mini medal hunting to the monster arena, to just looking for those damned metal slimes for crazy level grinding.

Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep - My personal favorite KH game. With the best KH battle system to date, and my favorite character (Ventus), comes with a great story that's a prequel to the original. Ties up a few loose ends instead of bringing on a whole lot more questions. Instead of hanging out in a Disney world for a few hours, you stay there for much less time, as each story mode will only take 15 to 20 hours (depending on what you do extra). The 3 shorter stories makes it nicer because I hated staying in each Disney world for hours on end (and then going back to them later) and getting lost (Tarzan -__-). Great game

Deus Ex - Couldn't forget about this game :ryan: My favorite PC RPG. Great skill system, great conspiracy theory based plot, and some of the best gameplay on a game in first person to date. This game gives you options. Are you going to go in through the roof, through the sewer, or through the damn front door to complete your mission? You're awarded for finding these different ways to do things. It's not Call of Duty. You're not going to rush in guns blazing. That will only get you killed. Augmentations add a nice touch to the game, letting you have better strength to pick up heavier things to get to new places or to run quieter so you sneak up on someone better and knock them out. You could go through this game without killing anyone but the bosses if you wanted to. Skill system that you can upgrade as you get experience from completing missions or just finding hidden areas. No pulling off no scope head shots in this game. Not until you're at least a master in rifles with some accuracy mods on your sniper rifle. Zoom in on that thing with no experience and it's just gonna bob everywhere and you're not going to get anywhere. Oh, and an awesome laser sword. 'Nuff said.

The Elder Scrolls III and IV: Morrowind and Oblivion (respectively): Oh Elder Scrolls. So much to do with so little time to do it. I started with Oblivion about a year after it came out and I've loved this game since. Never had the game for myself until about a year ago, so I've started it over and done everything in it at least 3 times (minus all the miscellaneous quests). Pretty much never gets boring, but you spend less time in the game once you've done everything :gasp: Morrowind is different. No fast traveling (at least from your map), a much lower sense of direction, and a better guild system. Unlike in Oblivion, you actually have to be[/] a mage in order to advance in the mage's guild. The one thing that bugged me was your chances to hit. You attack something and do nothing to it? Why? Your accuracy sucks, man. But they both have amazing open worlds that are fun and interactive. I know I've spent about 15 hours in just one city in Morrowind doing quests compared to Oblivion where I can just fast travel wherever I please. I literally walked everywhere till it got too tedious and I just used the console to get somewhere. Fun times.

I will give a list of the top ten games that I love. This will be a list of the games that gave me the most enjoyment, they're definitely not the best games ever but I really love them!

Final Fantasy IX: I love this game a lot. A lot of people do not enjoy the graphics, they think the characters look like midgets etc but i actually think it gives the game it's own special charm. The characters are really beautiful and I love the music and all the game play. I can play this game over and over without getting bored. I really love it.

Bust'a'Groove: Ok, this game is kind of bad, I know, not many people like it but omg. I had so much fun with it as a kid. I remember going to my friends house on weekends and we only had the demo so he'd play as heat and I'd play as Kitty N. Then we finally got the whole game and it was so exciting. it just brings a lot of memories. I have my old copy sitting at home on my shelf :inlove:

Suikoden II: Great game, I spent hours playing it on my PSOne, loved all the characters and the story was really cool, unfortunately my disk broke right on the end boss and I never got to finish it :( it still makes me sad to this day because I cannot find a copy for under $150 :rage:

Kingdom Hearts 1 &2: I put these together because I like them equally for different reasons. Both these games were really fun for me, my favourite thing about it besides the really fun battle system was all the characters. I loved seeing my favourite FF characters and Disney characters all in one game. The graphics are really fun and I just really enjoy the games. If only they'd stop making the bad spinoffs and hurry and create KH3 :( I am tired of waiting.

The Legend of Zelda: WindWaker: Love it, the design of the toon link is really cute and appealing to me. I had a lot of fun with the story, even if it is a simple Zelda story, I liked all the little details it had in it and it was just all-round fun.

A special Mention to: Final Fantasy X, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Red Dead Redemption, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (PSOne), Harvest Moon (PSOne), Tales of Vesperia (really wanted to put this in my top 5 :() and Baten Kaitos. (probably missed a few)

All those games listed are really special to me <3

Only FFIX stands above all others for me, others are unordered:

1) Final Fantasy IX: My introduction to 'proper' RPGs. Any of the supposed weaknesses in the story are more than compensated for by the amazing cast of characters, so much so that I would love it as a book or a film, not just as a game. Aside from that, it had pretty stunning visuals for the time, an amazing soundtrack, good replay value and a good balance of difficulty meaning that excessive grinding at any point wasn't necessary. Also, beating Ozma for the first time is one of my fondest gaming memories.

2) Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess: My favourite LoZ game. It had everything I wanted from a Zelda game, yet felt much more refined than Wind Waker whilst having more depth than OoT both in design and in it's storytelling. One thing that really stood out to me about this game was the dungeons, which are in my opinion by far the best in the series. Snowpeak ruins, City in the Sky and Palace of Twilight are the best, but there isn't really a weak link (pun not intended) anywhere.

3) Sword of Mana: This game tends to split opinion a lot, and the purists will insist that the Final Fantasy Adventure GB game was better, but there was something I really loved about this game. I thought the artwork and the redone soundtrack were both incredible, I even listen to it regularly on iTunes. Whilst the dialogue may have been excessive at times, I was so absorbed in the game that I didn't care.

4) Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door: Probably the best mario game in my opinion. It was awesome to play an RPG that made me laugh throughout and was a welcome depature to the dark and moody themed RPGs that were around at the time. In fact, the whole game is constantly making fun of popular RPG ideas, but at the same time is a great game in it's own right. The battle system is fairly simple, but is much more interactive than in most JRPGs. The whole chapter structure was really well done too, and the inbetween cutscenes and 'Super Bowser Bros.' levels were good fun.

5) Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped: I have huge arguments to this day with a particular friend about whether this or CB2 is better, and I firmly stand beside this one. It had the best variety of levels, the best bosses, a larger variety of moves, and the most replay value. I lost track of the amount of times I replayed that bike level, and the jet ski level. There were 25 regular levels, each with multiple objectives, and then more secret levels to unlock after you've beaten the game, and as such I didn't stop playing this game until 6th gen consoles were out.

Other games that I feel like mentioning are Wario Land 2, LoZ Link's Awakening, Spyro The Dragon and Sonic 2, all of which devoured significant portions of my childhood.

This'll be a difficult one, I'll try

1. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - I loved just about everything in this game (NOT THE 3RD PERSON CAMERA). I seen this game lying around at a friends house, and asked if I can buy it for 30, quite possibly the best 30 bucks I've spent. I knew the moment I went out of the prison, and seen how big the world was, I was going to be playing this game for hours (120+ hours)

2. Kingdom Hearts 2 - Sure I loved the first one, but this one seemed much better. The battle system felt much smoother, and it got a bit more difficult. I love Disney characters, and this one had some of my favorites, which I love.

3. Final Fantasy VII - Yeah, I enjoyed the hell out of this game. The music was epic, the graphics were.... alright, and the story was amazing. I still haven't beaten the Emerald or the Ruby Weapon, damn them

4. Legend of Zelda: Windwaker - I've read around that people didn't like the cel-shaded graphics...I loved them. When it comes to Zelda, I'm a huge fan, I've beaten most, but this one definitely kept me playing till I absolutely got everything (except pictures of everyone)

5. Dragonquest VIII - My first ever Dragonquest game. To be honest, one of the main reasons I bought it was because the characters looked very Dragonball-ish. It was a lot different than I thought it'd be. The enemies were harder, the world was huge, and the story, oh my goodness, I loved it

I'm still not quite sure this is my final list, there's so much more I love

1 Final Fantasy IX. I'm glad that there is so many FF9 lovers here, usually this beauty of a gem is underrated and is looked down upon because it looks chibi. FFIX is my favourite game of all time, because of the beautiful music, stunning and unique characters, and the storyline is just so deep and moving, and emotional. A true winner.

2 Kingdom Hearts, okay so the camera angle isn't the best and it can drive you insane, and the Little Mermaid world was a total mess, because it was so damn hard to swim. But I love KH, despite it's faults. Sora and Riku are just really cool characters, and are well developed, and the storyline was rather creative and they managed to create a storyline that would include Final Fantasy characters and the Disney crew + worlds just perfectly.

3 Tekken 6. Tekken 6 is just a simple fighting game, nothing special. But there's so many characters to love, and Alisa and Asuka are just badass. Good fun, espically if you've had and bad day and need to bring out some steam. The controls and fighting moves are excellent and it's easy to get into, if you're a noobie.

4. Tales of Symphonia. This used to be my most favourite game ever, but personalities change over time, I guess. This game is just memories of childhood. It's a underrated JRPG that needs some more loving.

5. Resident Evil 2. okay the graphics have aged, but it's good fun, shooting zombies and stuff. Its still pretty chilling in parts despite it's age. I wish that I played it years ago, when it was new instead of downloading it by the PS2...

Final Fantasy X:
A few years ago, I raved about this game because of its story. I hated the gameplay. Today, I love both. The turn-based battle system allows one to develop a strategy, and the ability to move characters in and out of the battle field without wasting a turn is extremely helpful. I love to see the effect each decision will have on the battle line-up - will a character get two turns in a row, or will the boss be given another three turns when I conduct the battle in a certain way? The world and music are also beautiful. :)

Zelda: Wind Waker:
When I first played Zelda, I truly believed I was going to hate it. Wind Waker changed that. It's enchanting, imaginative, and the developers have created a world that is worth exploring! It's not AS fun now - I've seen and done most of it, so rarely experience the novelty of finding something new - but I have fond memories. :) The gameplay is also great! And I love how a note of music plays with each sweep snd thrust of Link's sword.

Portal 2:
This game is extremely original. The puzzles are fun, and the difficulty level is just right. You feel satisfied when you solve them, but they are not frustratingly difficult.

Pokemon Soul Silver:
Pokemon Crystal was my first Pokemon game, and the first handheld game which took me on a true adventure. I was dedicated to my Pokemon and loved to develop my Feraligatr! I built a good team! The remake of Gold and Silver was a dream come true. :)

Knights of the Old Republic 2:
I've only started to play this recently, but it's a lot of fun so far, and I have high hopes. The battle stystem isn't spectacular, but it's enjoyable. The exploration and story look to be incredible. The characters and music are great. :)

1)Final Fantasty VII because you can do chocobo races and fight challenging enimeies. And the fact that you can put matiria in your armour and weapons an make different kinds of chocobo's.

2)Minecraft because you can mine and craft and get achievements. And you can do anything to your world you want. You also get to fight enemies such as a creeper and a zombie. It also has creepy sound affects.

3)Kingdom Hearts You can get ultima weapons and you get to fight secret bosses that give items. And the worlds you go to are pretty cool. And the music is great and the fighting system is great to fight with.

4)Dissida 012 The story is great and you can also go to the side story thing. The world map is freaking awsome. The newer characters are great. And the newer braver attacks are great.:ryan:

5)Final fantasty IX It has great music. And the boss music is my favorite and the story is great. But it can get sad sometimes.Vivi always trips on something the battles are epic.

Those are my favorite 5 games>:ryan:

I will omit all Final Fantasy titles from this list as they would just undoubtedly take up most of it and it wouldn't be fair to the other titles I want to mention. In no particular order:

+ The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - This is pretty much the best 2D Zelda there's ever been as well as the best Zelda to date in my opinion. Sure, the 3D outings from Ocarina of Time to Twilight Princess have been great and all, but none have really captivated me as much as the SNES outing has. The Hyrule overworld just flows so well, striking that balance of being large and expansive enough to contain all sorts of hidden little areas ready to be explored, though not too large that to get from one side to another requires a boring lengthy stroll. The dungeons, though plentiful, are just so well designed, and though I did get stuck multiple times, it's what you expect from Zelda. It's also never that excruciatingly frustrating either - *cough* notlookingatyouWaterTempleinOcarinaofTime.

+ Disgaea: Hour of Darkness - well, any of the Disgaea games will do, but considering the storyline and the cast of the original one will always be the funniest and the best, it's the one being listed. Do you get sick of ultra-broody and angsty RPG stories that constantly depress you? Do you get sick of the usual clichés of the spiky-haired boy with the sword off to save the world? Do you get sick of SAVING THE WORLD? Disgaea takes a dump on all of that - and on the face of common sense. The hilarious storylines and dialogues are definitely reasons alone to get the game, and that's not even mentioning yet the strangely addictive gameplay. It's strange to think that the concept of random dungeons, bribing or beating up people in the Dark Court and all the item world stuff produces a strategy RPG series that is able to bleed so many hours away from you without even realising it. Add to the mix the fact that everything is outrageously over the top, as well as the uber-cool Prinnies, dood.

+ Just Cause 2 - maybe not the best game in the world, but the amount of hours clocked up on this gem is just outrageous. I know people say Red Dead is the better sandbox game of last year, but RDR never really appealed to me. Just Cause 2 totally delivers in the sandbox department, even though I'm not even the biggest fan of sandbox titles. The huge sprawling island of Panau is just astonishing, in size, diversity and the sheer amount of things to do. It isn't GTA where a section is closed off until later. The entire place is your oyster and it's massive. Sure, sidequests and miscellaneous tasks usually repetitive and there's the extremely annoying flaw of roads suddenly emptying whenever you're standing on and near them, but I still had a lot of fun completing them. Even the more mundane tasks of destroying gas stations to picking up items in the numerous towns and military bases were enjoyable enough to make me stray from the main storyline missions and the Agency missions.

+ Assassin's Creed II - Well, I could put in Brotherhood as well, but I haven't got too far into that one yet. To begin with, I can see that I may eventually get a little bored of the Assassin's Creed series later on, but when I played Ass Creed II, it just felt so fresh and interesting to me. I never expected to enjoy it. I was expecting mandatory stealth of a frustrating level, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that wasn't the case. Sure, completing it really doesn't take long and neither is it ever that challenging, but I love Renaissance Italy - each of the cities, how well realised they are and the architecture. Finding and slaying each of the targets by the end of sequences just feels utterly satisfying in a slightly odd way, and it really didn't take long for me to really get the feel of Ezio's character. The non-linearity of the game is a big plus, as I could stray off the path and just hunt down some miscellaneous targets, do some race missions or just infiltrate a tomb or two.

+ Xenoblade Chronicles - Best. RPG. On. The. Wii. And. The. Best. RPG. I. Have. Played. In. A. Long. While. With a vast world, countless sidequests and things to do, a very British cast of characters and a brilliant combat system with the interesting spin of Monado's future-telling powers, this game is just worth every penny and I've hardly even gone beyond the surface yet despite being nearly 15 hours in.

And Starscream killing Fiora is one such event in the storyline that made me gasp with surprise. I can't believe they actually did that!

If there are other gems in my collection that I have left out, I am very sorry. It has been a long day and I'll make sure sometime soon I will give you all honourable mentions as well.

Isn't there already a favorite games of all time thread? :hmmm:

Oh, well. I might as well post here since my list has changed a little bit.

5) Vagrant Story - This game was originally just an honorable mention for me but after I got more and more into it, I fell in love with this game. The atmosphere, the design, the story, the characters. This is one of those few games I feel really fits into the description of "perfect". The combat system is easy to use and doesn't get boring. The customization system is surprisingly complex compared to the standards of a lot of today's games. I feel this game kinda gets overlooked and that's a real shame.

4) Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain - Yeah, this one's still on here. This is definitely one of the best adventure games I have ever played. It's complex, yet simple. As far as the rest of the series goes, this title by far has the most to offer in terms of exploration. Granted that's not saying much considering that every game after Soul Reaver was to be linear but this game had a lot to offer compared to a lot of games that had come out at the time. There are tons of spells and magical items to use in this game. There's about thirty hours worth of objects to collect. The story line is very engaging. And the protagonist is still one of my favorites.

3) Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories - I still stand by this one as my favorite in the series. It was probably the game that had the least work go into it yet it resonated the strongest with me. The story line is the best, and darkest, out of all the games. The card system is well implemented and very simple to use. And all of the really interesting Organization members were in this game. The antagonist in the one didn't feel like a walking cliche' like Ansem and Xehonart did. He had an agenda that didn't involve DARKNESS!!! God, Ansem used that word to death. A lot of fans complained that this game felt cheap because they didn't really make any new worlds. But I personally felt that it nice that they made a game where the main focus wasn't on the problems of Disney worlds, but more what was happening between visits.

2) Metal Gear: Solid - In all fairness, this isn't really one of my favorite games, and I can probably say it's not even one of my favorite games in the series. But to the games credit, this gem was what got me into gaming and has turned me into the monstrous nerd I am today. And I'm grateful to it. I first played this game when I was about six or seven and I was just overwhelmed by how awesome this game was. I used to play it for hours. I remember one day I beat this game twice in one sitting. Now that's obsession. And while this game has kinda dropped in ranks on the list of my favorites, I decided to put it here on this list because (and this corny) it holds a place in my heart. It's a game that never fails to put a smile on my lips and place me in the warm embrace of nostalgia.

1) Xenogears - This game completely redefined how I looked at story telling in gaming. So complex. So massive. And so well told. I remember playing it when I was younger and not understanding shit. I think I was in high school when I picked this game back up and actually able to truly appreciate it. This game is perfect to me. Sure, the graphics are lackluster and the the audio choices they made are questionable in some sections. But the little flaws just make this game so much more appealing to me. It's also the kind of game that every time I play through it, I notice something new. This game is art.

1. Dragon age - origins. Amazing game! Awesome characters, you have so many options, you can restart the game and see new things every time. Awesome story even though it's simple. Some quests take long but still it is one of the best games I've ever played.

2. Devil may cry 3 - Dante, enough said. XD I love this character, started to like Vergil too! I love the battle with Vergil, I love the gameplay, love the music (Vergil battle 2 and 3 FTW!)

3. Uncharted 2 - Awesome graphics, awesome story, Nathan Drake is hilarious again, love the gameplay, love the multiplayer.

4. Heavy rain - This game really touched me. The story was so sad, but really well done. I also loved the replayable options. Every choice effects the end of the game.

5. Little big adventure 2 - It's an old game, for windows 95, but I have played this game so many times and it was amazing! The graphics sucked, but the story was good! You played as Twinsen who had to save the world xD I like the quests in it, you have to look for certain items, become a wizard. I love games like this.

Ah, forgot Assassins creed 2 ! It shares the 5th spot.

Honorable mentions: Final fantasy VIII and X. Resident evil 4 and 5, Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages and Seasons <3

Final Fantasy VIII: It's been over a decade and this game still has me by the heartstrings. I can't recall a game that had me so emotionally engaged while giving me so much fun. Or that gave me so much to think on. It's still one of my all time favorites.

Assassin's Creed 2: I love the series, but AC2 will always hold a special spot in my heart because it had a little bit of everything and so few drawbacks. It just got the point and told me a story I mostly loved and sometimes seethed about--which I prefer over a story I completely like because then I get to think over it!

Persona 4: Probably the best RPG game I've played in many years. I got this after suggestions from friends and I'm so very glad I did. It's incredibly immersive, insanely funny when it wants to and very emotionally engaging. If you've played this game and not cried at some point, you are either lying, or you're dead.

Red Dead Redemption - Undead Nightmare expansion: I take back what I said over the last 15 years about the best zombie game being RE2. I take it all back, because THIS is the best zombie game I've ever played. It's awesome just like Shaun of the Dead was awesome, genre-savvy in a very sideways, innovative way. Zombies and the wild west? Sure, it sounds weird. But it WORKS. RDR is a great game on its own, but this expansion is just sweet on so many different levels. Screw L.A. Noire--THIS is Rockstar's masterpiece.

Batman: Arkham Asylum: Y'know, I kinda hesitate to put this here because of Arkham City's impending release that might displace it. I love Batman, and honestly, this is the game the fandom always wanted. It's amazingly good fun and incredibly well designed.

HONORABLE MENTIONS
Vagrant Story - Only an HM for this awesome piece of gaming just because it's so bloody hard... and so bloody good...and hard...and good... well, you get the idea. *sigh*

Shadow Hearts - If I hadn't played Persona 4, I'd have mentioned this as the best RPG I've played after FF8, but alas... SH has some of the more fun characters I've seen in an RPG. I loved it.

Fatal Frame 3 - Best. Horror. Game. Ever. :D It's one of the 2 that've made me SHRIEK out loud.

Heavy Rain - I call this a piece of art. It's more emotionally engaging than many oscar-winning movies and I still think people whine about it for no good reason. It's a great game.

Half-Life 2 (and episodes) - I don't usually like sci-fi. Or first person shooters. I don't see any worthwhile storytelling or plot in the latter. Well guess what one of my most favorite examples of storytelling and narrative is. Also ZERO POINT ENERGY MANIPULATOR! (Or Gravity Gun ^_^)

Okay, I have to add Tales of the Abyss to this. I really liked Tales of Symphonia, and I don't care what people might say. Symphonia is crap compared to TotA. Best characters in a game EVER. There isn't a love plot that bogs the story down, but instead it's faintly there and it pisses you off when it doesn't show up. The story is quite good, but it's the character and the world of the game that make it shine the most. I'd write more, but I have more written here.

Assassins Creed II - Do I even have to elaborate why? First off the amazing graphics, the game-play, the fighting system, the deep story and history richness, the intricate puzzles, the amazingly realistic characters - I've never seen such realistic character interactions before.
A fighting cause that really challenges you to think about it, who's good and who's bad, the morals it teaches and the lessons -- bah! Its just so amazing!

I have never been so aw struck by a story, and I hate History so this game making me love it is a pretty amazing thing imo x3

Hamtaro Rainbow Rescue - Yes, I list this game, bceause its one of the most entertaining games I have ever played, I sat down as a kid playing it forever and I got another copy recently and played it for hours til I beat it again; and I loved it as much as I ever have!
It also helps that it is full of adorable animals and cute little hamsters as well, I mean how could anyone resist this?

Call of Duty; Black Ops
- The multilayer for one, but its mainly for the story line that I choose it, I have to say I love intricate conspiracy-like games, I can't help it, stories with a story are so interesting to me.

Legend of Zelda; Wind Waker
- Its a amazing and timeless game, I always have fun playing it, the graohics are a timeless art comparable to NES -- and I love how the story and temples flow, definitely one of the best Zelda's and video games I have ever played.

Legend of the Dragoon
- I really love this game, its difficult in a fun and amusing way, even if leveling up is a friggin bitch, the character are not all that genuine and original but fun to play and see none the less, the game is a classic and I like it for its battle system and story -- its a keeper.

From least fav to Fav.

NUMBER 5: Final Fantasy X

I can hear you all. WTF?-ing now. with so much i talk about this game you'd expect it to be number 1.

final Fantasy X was not my first FF game. final Fantasy 3 was. but FFX was so amazing. it blew FFIII out of the air. with an indepth storyline interesting character. amazing battle system and The fact that it wasn't to hard. make it number 5 on my list.

NUMBER 4: Kirby's Dream Land

kirby? in MY list? one of the most kid directed and easiest series made in the world. I had the honour of playing Kirby's dreamland as my fisrt GB game. The game was fun. and Kirby himself was comepletely awesome. it didn't really have a plot. but that didn't mean anything. The tuff cream puff will forever beat out any final fantasy.

NUMBER 3: soul Calibur 2/3

It's a tie. the Two soul games basically created the fighting game world for me. i started off with two. Mained Link and Ivy. three came out Mained Tira,Rapier style(amy.) and Tambourine style(Lynette). Despite how off setting SC3 was. I loved it. Create a soul was amazing. and Lynette was FUCKING AWESOME. Who knew a shop keeper with tambourines could be top teir?

SC2 was also awesome. Link, and how SC2 Ivy was at her peak. it was spectacular. Graphics Voices.(Renee hewit. MWAHAHAHHAHA!) Everything! Only Sc3 beats SC2 for one reason.

Chronicles of the FUCKING sword.

NUMBER 2: Pokemon Emerald.

yup. POE-KAY-MANZ. Emerald was my first pokemon game. and it was awesome. Runing through the game with a secptile and Castform brings back so many memories. and everytime I'd restart I'd gain new ones. screw DIamon,Pearl and Platinum! Screw Black and White! Screw gold silver and crystal. SCREW RED AND BLUE. Gen 3 is where it's at bitches.

NUMBER 1: The legend of Zelda, Majoras Mask.

"OMGWTFBBQ"

i can hear you~

With a surprizing amount of darkness for a Nintendo game. MM brought me to sanity and back. with all the side quests. and the fucking stone tower temple. The story was superb. The mask system was excellent. the hug with cremia. (Teehee. Boob hug) and the one with the little girl and her father. It was a tear jerker.

Nothing however. can ever compare with the anjuKafei side quest.

A quest of love spanning the Final three days of a world. A young man Turned into a child by the skull kid hides himself from his true love. Anju. overcome with greif attempts to find him. and You. caught in the middle of it all. desperate to find to long lost lover a moment of solace before the world ends.

Majoras Mask is the best game i have ever played.

It's a hard choice but I'll list my 5. Final Fantasy VII and MGS4 are kind of on a tie here, but the rest are in my favorite order.

1) Final Fantasy VII - It was my first Final Fantasy game, my first RPG and my first 'real videogame', I could say, other than a Sponge Bob SquarePants game on the GBA. I was amazed and incredibly addicted. It took me two years to beat due to technical issues that prevented me from playing on and off, but the story was amazing and I'm glad I introduced myself to the good side of gaming by playing this masterpiece. I have a 3 inch thick stack of papers that are printed out text walkthroughs for FFVII from GameFAQs.

2) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - I played the series in order, of course. But MGS4 was the most epic of them all and the most amazing conclusion to anything I've ever seen, the long-ass but ridiculously refined and cinematic cutscenes... The storyline was a little confusing but it was beyond anything I could ever imagine, it was so well thought out I could barely keep up. It deserved its countless review scores of 10. Unfortunately the only thing the game lacked was PS3 trophies, because I'm a trophy whore.

3) Final Fantasy X - The first game that made me shed a tear. The incredibly addicting battle system and gameplay, weapon customization and etc, it was barely a chore to grind in Final Fantasy X. The characters were great and I always tried to use them all equally, it was probably the most engaging Final Fantasy experience of them all, because even after my 3rd attempt of the game, it still felt fresh and I picked up more than I did the first two times I tried to play and failed. The ending was probably the best videogame ending I've ever seen, and if I was to criticize anything in this game, it would probably be the voice acting, as some of it came off as a little awkward and forced, it simply didn't match what was going on screen far too often.

4) Mass Effect 2 - I played the first game before, so I wouldn't ruin the 2nd game's experience, and I didn't regret it. The storyline was great, the whole universe in this game was spectacular, fascinating and well thought out. The gameplay was a blast, unfortunately it was a little dumbed down and lacked depth for me, but it was still fun. The worst part of the series would have to be the male main character's voice actor. I couldn't stand him and the voice bored me to death, so I tried playing as a female and surprisingly, it was the most engrossing character I've played as.

5) Final Fantasy VIII - The music and scenarios were so memorable and absorbing I just can't help but feel affected by this game. The graphics were incredibly impressive for its time, mainly the CGI FMV sequences that blew me away, even in 2010 when I played it. The story was incredibly emotional and engaging, I loved all of the characters and was hoping the game would never end. The only downside of this game was probably the incredibly impractical and confusing gameplay/battle system, and the ending could have been a tad more solid and perhaps a little more rewarding.

Uncharted 2.
This is the best game ever made, not finaruji fantaru or zelda or any other shit.
It's fun, it can be challenging and the characters are likable. I think the multiplayer is overrated, but it is still quite good.

Finaru Fantariji Tenaru.
I haven't played it for years so I don't know if I'll still like it. But I liked it a lot when I played it. The story was compelling, you wanted to play it to see how it would unfold, something which isn't true of the Finaru Fantarijiarus which followed it. It has my favourite FF battle system too.

Goldeneye 007.
The multiplayer was so much fun. I was pretty shit, I thought the best way to kill someone was to spin around shooting all the time. You could hide in toilets and shoot people. Short characters like Oddjob had an advantage because there was less of them to shoot. The single player was quite good too.

Cod4 Modern Warfare.
I think the later cods are better games. But they aren't much better than the original. It seems odd to talk about the single player, but it was quite good in MW, I spent most the of the time I should have been studying for my A2 exams finishing it. Then there was the multiplayer. Superb.

Kingdomami Heartsaru Twoji.
The best of the Kingdom Hearts game, and with the exception of the first two hours which were extremely dull it was a great game. Poor Goofy almost dying, Riku and Sora being reunited. The nasty baddies being beaten. It was very good.

There's quite a few other games that were also quite good, Mass Effect 2, Heavy Rain, AC2, Tekken 3 etc etc.

1. Uncharted - I personally place it above Uncharted 2 simply because I preferred the character interaction more, not to say Uncharted 2 didn't have amazing interaction too, I just preferred the interaction between Drake/Elena and Drake/Sully more than I did Drake/Chloe and Chloe/everyone else although I prefer the overall storyline in Uncharted 2 admittedly. But the fact that it's the title that starts the series off makes it for me.

2. Bioshock - Fantastic game, everything about it was great. The gameplay was great, the voice acting was top drawer and the twists throughout the game were fantastic. Could EASILY play through the game again and again. It probably has the best concept behind it of any game I've played.

3. Uncharted 2 - Same reason Uncharted is in the list really, amazing storyline, characters and although it has smooth gameplay I just prefer the interaction in Uncharted.

4. Heavy Rain - Loved how it was something different, loved how the storyline was told and how there were twists throughout the game from start to finish. Most of all I loved how you could determine what would happen throughout the whole game. One of those games that comes along very rarely.

5. Shadow of the Colossus. Fucking. Love. This. Game. Period.
