The British Royal Wedding

I was thinking spam almost.....

But since it is in here

I'm really tired of hearing about it, I thought after the wedding was done the news channels would talk about something else... BOY WAS I WRONG!
Im hearing more and more of how much it cost who was there, blah blah blah... :rage:

the only reason I want to watch it, is to maybe see something go wrong. But I can't take those chances.

Instead, I will put it on a channel that isn't airing it (Golf or Infomercials) and then put on a Friends dvd. They will NOT get my ratings. :mokken:

god if i hear about this wedding on the news one more time i'm gonna hunt down the news people....

i was soo amazed the other day when the main story changed from the wedding to the PSN stuff for a few hours.. i was thinking thank god something different :ahmed:

I shall not watch it.

It's on at 4 in the morning my time. I have no desire to see them get married. And he's so ugly, and everyone always goes on about how hot is. Money is not sexy. I can't have sex with money.

He's ugly. Accept it folks.

You could have sex with money if you don't mind the paper cuts.

edit: dis is a poast count section isn't it?

I'm really not impressed. 21 networks.. 21!!.. I skipped ahead on my cable tv to see, and from midnight to 8am 21 networks are covering it. Is that really necessary?

All you canadians and americans should be forced to watch your future king and queen get married. I'm tempted to watch it because it's such a big occasion, millions of people all over the world will be watching the exact same thing at the exact same time. That only happens during the soccer world cup final, sorry americans, no one cares about the superbowl, because it's shit.

I'm probably going to end up watching. Not because I want to, but because every channel will broadcast it and it will be inescapable.

I don't see how this is important, especially to America. Come on America, 164 tornadoes just hit Alabama! Care about them! >.>

You could always just turn off your TV.

And go outside.

Or do anything else.

It's not inescapable, I'm escaping it right now.

Raining, storming, really windy. Same storm that gave birth to the 164 tornadoes in Alabama has been hitting my state as well. ;)
Also, there are other shows/news (as in what's happening in Alabama! >.<) that they interrupt for this silliness.

I gotta say, I am intrigued by how big Kate's dress will be.. Diana's was apparently huge and long and weighed like.. alot. :hmmm:

I watched it. I actually like Kate. She seems like a strong and resilient woman. When they broke up first time round, she knew exactly what to do, to get the prince calling back.:mokken:I also liked Diana, she seemed like a really kind and caring princess when she was around, always helping less unfortunate countries ,and orphans. It's a shame she died when I was little. :sad3:

So yeah, I watched it because I reckon that Princess Kate is awesome-sauce. Haters will be haters. :gmonster:

Am I the only one that's slightly peeved by the cost of this thing? I understand it's nothing new, but come on. This wedding would increase country morale, sure. But does it have to cost 70 big ones when it could be just a humble display at a local church? It would appear more sincere and true to the concept of marriage, in my opinion. Rationally, if you look at the regular joe's opportunity costs with even the price of the dress (possibility of exaggeration or fabrication in the report is acknowledged) 41ks, that's a lot of damn chicken. Hell, a better morale booster is The King's Speech. It's timeless, delivers a better message, isn't in risk of a bloody divorce and didn't even meet 20% of the wedding's budget. Weddings don't need to be expensive, royal or no. It would speak true to the common Englishman (or person) if it was a more modest wedding, just sayin'

There is certainly a lot of hate for the wedding, as there would be for anything that is highly publicised. I find though that having interest for the wedding tends to actually be the minority, as most people who I have heard mention it seem to be moaning about the wedding.

I don’t feel the need to hate on it, and I did end up watching it. Like Hal said it is something which doesn’t happen often at all and it is nice to see the ceremonies. It’s not like a random celebrity wedding, and it is less annoying than football which always takes over the TV whenever The Football is about. This is the likely future King and Queen’s wedding, and hence it is witnessing a little bit of history.

It went very well, I thought. It was not too in-your-face or showing off, everything went smooth enough and the weather wasn’t too bad for the event.

Americans don't have a king or queen, don't give a damn about the UK's royalty, nor will they be taken over by the UK and have to care about the royalty. :lew: We'll take our Superbowl over the happenings of another country any day.

I don't care about the wedding. Most American's, if not all that I know don't care about the wedding. Our media wants to smoother us with the wedding coverage because quite frankly, we have way too much media, and not enough real stories to report. The only people that are watching it here are only watching it because there isn't anything better on TV or they lost the remote and don't know how to change the channel on their cable box.

I'm sure everyone is relieved that its finally over, even those in the UK who are affected by the wedding more so. Another day, another wedding really. Just because these people are part of a monarchy, I don't treat them as being better people, and I don't see why anyone else should either. They still put their pants on 1 leg at a time, just like everyone else. We don't air anyone elses wedding, not even celebrity figures.

Well we have a bank holiday over here because of the wedding, so I think most people are happy about it, because of the days off work and school etc. But it's an annoyance for me because I still have to work, and because it's a bank holiday, we're probably going to be busy. :hmph:

I caught some replays off it this morning.

I was shocked.

Her dress was really small compared to what I was expecting, and she actually looked like a normal bride. That won her points with me.

If you don't like it, then flick your TV over or just don't watch it. Simples. :wacky:

To be honest, the hype of it annoyed me. Yes, I watched the ceremony and all. It was really lovely. Kate looked gorgeous in that dress and was smiling the whole way through. There was a slight hiccup with Wills trying to put the ring on her finger (something HAD to happen though, right?), but that was about it.

It's such a lovely thing to happen today. I'd have rather have this than the typical news of people getting murdered as per usual.
