I was listening to this song yesterday, and I just instantly connected it to Final Fantasy 10. If you haven't heard the song yet, its about how this guy's insomnia causes him to think about life. But, this meaning can be connected to Final Fantasy 10. Read on for more..
You Would Not Believe Your Eyes
If Ten Million Fireflies
Light Up The World As I Fell Asleep
This possibly means that when the Fayth fall asleep, the world lights up with ten million fireflies, or pyreflies in this case, due to Sin being destroyed.
Cause They Fill The Open Air
And Leave Teardrops Everywhere
You'd Think me Rude
But I Would Just Stand And stare
The sight of all these pyreflies were magnificent in the game, so you would sit and stare. However, And Leave Teardrops Everywhere could mean how Tidus and Yuna were sad to leave each other, and how they cried, hence the teardrops everywhere.
I'd Like To make Myself Believe That Planet earth Turns Slowly
It's Hard To Say That I'd Rather Stay Awake When I'm Asleep
Cause Everything Is Never As It Seems
The first line, I'd Like To make Myself Believe That Planet earth Turns Slowly, might indicate Tidus's unwillingness to believe Zanarkand was destroyed until he saw it with his own eyes, or that he could go back to Zanarkand.
The second line might indicate Tidus would like to stay awake while hes asleep, since he is a dream, and if the Fayth awaken, he disappears.
The third line of the chorus could indicate alot of things.
1. Yevon is a corrupt religion.
2. Yuna must die to kill sin.
3. Tidus doesn't actually exist.
4. Auron has been dead all along.
5. Jecht, Tidus' dad, is Sin.
Pretty much all plot twists.
Cause I'd Get A Thousand Hugs
From Ten Thousand Lightning Bugs
These lines alude to Tidus, being made up of lightning bugs, or pyreflies, hugging Yuna, in the making out scene.
As They Tried To Teach Me How To Dance
A Foxtrot Above My head
A Sockhop Beneath My Bed
This line alludes to the pyreflies being sent to the Farplane by Yuna, at Kilika. In a way, they taught her to "dance", as Tidus puts it. The Above My Head, Beneath My Bed means the pyreflies were all around her while she was sending.
A Disco Ball Is Just hanging By A thread
I can't really think of how. The only way I can connect it was Yevon's unity was just hanging by a thread, and Tidus and party destroyed that.
(Insert chorus)
When I Fall Asleep
Leave My Door Open Just A crack
(Please Take Me Away From Here)
These lines alude to Tidus's childish behavior in the beginning of the game, and how he just wanted to go back to Zanarkand.
Cause I Feel Like Such An Insomniac
(Please Take Me Away From Here)
Why Do I Tire Of Counting Sheep
(Please Take Me Away From Here)
When I'm far Too Tired To Fall Asleep
I really can't connect these lines to Final Fantasy 10. Any ideas would be happily accepted.
To Ten Million Fireflies
I'm Weird Cause I Hate Goodbyes
I Got Misty Eyes As They Said Farewell
These lines tell, again, how Tidus said farewell and Yuna cried.
But I'll Know Where Several Are
If My Dreams Get Real Bizzare
Cause I Saved A Few And I Keep Them In A Jar
The first two lines talk about the Farplane, and how in X-2, things start to get Bizzare, and thats where the final battle is.
The third line talk about how she had the memories of Tidus, and the whistle they both knew, which would reunite them.
(Insert chorus three times)
Because My Dreams Are Bursting At The Seams
There are alot of Fayth when they awaken, which kinda connects with this line.
Well, thats it. Have fun.

When I'm far Too Tired To Fall Asleep
I feel these lines could be that Tidus, at the beginning of the game, just wants to go home, and wake up from his 'dream'.
Do you think he worte this song as a tribute or something? Post opinions etc. please.
