What's your timetable like?

What's your timetable like? Is it busy or fairly relaxed? Any days you really hate or really love?

For me, I have an alright timetable this year, although Thursday looks a bit... eep.

Monday : 1 hour lesson 12-1
Tuesday : 2 hour lesson 10-12
Wednesday : Free
Thursday : Lecture 9-10, 2 hour lesson 11-1, Lecture 1-2, 1 hour lesson 4-5
Friday : Lecture 9-10, 2 hour lesson 10-12

The good thing is that after a few weeks, the two one hour lessons get taken off the timetable, so I'll have Mondays free, and finish earlier on a Thursday. Yay.

So, what are your timetables like?

Wednesday - Lecture/Seminar 9-12
Thursday - Seminar 9-10, Lecture 10-12, Lecture 1-2, Seminar 2-3
Friday - Lecture 11-1

But I have to make up 40 hours in independent work so...

Right, mine's rather good actually being honest, wouldn't think it was a full time course but apparently it's just worked out differently.

Mon: 9:30 - 10:30 (Lesson 1, bit of a lecture really though)
9:30 - 1:30 Lesson 2

Tuesdays free

Wed: 9:30 - 11:30 Lesson 1
12:00 - 2:30 - Lesson 2
2:30 - 3:30 - Lesson 3 (Although we're not doing this until after new year at least I think)

Thursdays free

Fri: Lesson 1 9:00 - 11:00

Yeah, not a lot really, although I will be getting work placement so Tuesday or Thursday will be for that, or both.

Not too bad, I don't like finishing at 4 or 3 though, I'd rather have earlier classes and finish around 12 or 1. I only have about 3 weeks left with this time table anyway as summer holidays are coming up.

monday's pretty full though i couldnt tell you specifically. i start at 9, got some mighty boring lectures then have a break from 12-1 then some not so boring lectures.

tuesdays are free so i can work then

wednesdays i have a 2 hour lecture from 9-11 though yesterday it lasted just over an hour.

thursdays i start at 2 and finish at 5.

fridays ehhhhhh i have a lecture from 9-10 then an hour break then some other shit for an hour.

can't really complain, i thought it'd be jampacked but its not

Mine is horrible, I'm in 9-5 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 11-2 on Monday and 9-12 on Wednesday.

I'm already feeling drained and I've only been at it 2 weeks!

Well, everyone has the rights to whine, I suppose... Though I think I should have the right to lament a bit.

Monday: 8am - 5pm (8pm if there are compulsory activities after school)
Tuesday: 8am - 7pm
Wednesday: 8am - 3pm
Thursday: 8am - 4pm
Friday: 8am - 5pm (8pm if there are compulsory activities after school)

Total hours wasted: 9+11+7+8+9= 44 (50 if the compulsory activities apply)

You know what's better? Those are the earliest possible timings. Most of the time, I end later. And don't forget the time I need to take to travel back home.... -____-

I heard that some other friends have it worse than me. Even better? Some students in other countries, like China, so I heard, have it like... 12 hours everyday? I sense exaggeration, but I don't know for sure.

But I do know I feel that school is just a waste of time. Why waste over 40 hours in school? Lectures are virtually useless- since they give us notes. With that provision, come on, get real. We have eyes. We can read. If you really want to highlight something so much, why not just add that into the notes?

And yeah. I hate this time table. I hate everything about the current education system, but I recognize thats the way it is, and I am too drained to rebel.

... What a waste of time.

I'm in on a Monday afternoon for about an hour. £3500 a year for that. We'll be getting individual classes later in the year regarding our dissertation, but we get to pick a time that suits us best, and they're only going to be every two or three weeks.

It's pretty good in comparison to others. Although I'm only in six hours a week, I've got a lot of independent work time to do and there a LOT of assignments to keep up with the course. I'm sort of surprised I reached the second year. Shame that I'll have to up my game to get into the final year.

On top of that, I go to the gym for an hour a day.

Worst timetable EVER, I could go home but it means 3 trips to and from Uni. It also means I have to be up for 9 every day and don't get home 'til after 5 every day.

THAT'S NOT WHAT UNI'S ABOUT

Science is clearly the hardest subject to study ever, I've not had a day off in 1st or 2nd year at all, every other faculty gets 1-3 days off a week. Part-timers

Plus I have a job Saturdays and Sundays so I basically work a 7-day week, fml.

For now, yeah. But then we've got our dissertation tutorials starting soon and we'll have group tutorials in our production groups when we get the projects properly started. It's still a ridiculously free timetable though.

Monday: 10am - 4pm. 3 actual lessons with a free in the middle.
Tuesday: 8:45am - 4pm. 4 lessons and a free in the middle.
Wednesday: 8:45am - 3pm. It's a shorter day because the last hours are just frees.
Thursday: 10am - 4pm. 3 actual lessons with a free in the middle.
Friday: 8:45am - 4pm. Worst day. Not a single free.

It's an A2 schedule as I'm in my second year of sixth form. I'm not fond of it actually as quite a few frees are squeezed into the middle of the day making it rather pointless to make a 12 mile journey home and back again. And I hate how hectic my Fridays are. Still, I suppose this timetable isn't too bad. It could have been a lot worse and so far it's very manageable. I refused to drop one of my subjects after AS level so I kind of expected to get a timetable like this.

University next year. Looking forward to it, although if you ask me to do a lot of independent study, I'll be very distracted with other things.

Seeing as I live 40 miles away from my college, my timetable is ridiculously tight.

It used to be:

Mondays and Wednesdays:
1.) Calculus II - 11:50 - 1:30
2.) History of Ancient World Architecture - 4:00 - 5:30

Had to leave at 7 a.m. to get to the college at a time when there was still actually parking.

Tuesdays and Thursdays:
1.) Architecture Studio III - 12:40 - 5:30
2.) Chinese IV - 5:40 - 6:50

It's not too bad really, especially since they don't take attendance in lectures, so you can skive off if you want to. It's wonderful having Monday and Wednesday off.

• World Politics seminar: 1pm-2pm

• Making of the Modern World lecture: 11am-12pm
• Introduction to Politics lecture: 6pm-7pm

• Making of the Modern World lecture: 9am-10am
• History of German seminar: 11am-12pm

• World Politics lecture: 1pm-2pm

Friday:

• World Politics lecture: 9am-10am
• Making of the Modern World seminar: 12pm-1pm
• Introduction to Politics seminar: 1pm-2pm

Not too bad, though I'm really not fond of the 9am lectures. Still, it could be worse, I know someone who has to head off to lectures at 9am every day and ones who even have lectures starting at 8am. The one gripe I have is the 6-7 lecture on Tuesday which is a bit annoying, not mitigated by the fact that the building I have to get to is 20 minutes away on foot.

You'd be insane to go to Uni and not study...

Seriously, if you want to come out with a good degree and not waste £30,000 - £50,000 odd (probably the latter if you're paying the new £9000 tuition fees), then you will have to study independently. University is made up of independent study. You aren't told much at all in your lectures or seminars, though this does depend on your subject.

If you are given a lot of info, you'll need to revise throughout the year to keep on top of it. If you aren't, you'll need to research things on your own to gather enough for coursework and the exams.

I suppose you can save the work until your second and third year as long as you pass the first year. I spent most of my first year reading books that weren't related to my English course, but I studied hard towards the end so that I could pass first year with a 2.1.

In my second year, I worked hard, but still had enough free time in which to read and play games. In my third year, I had very little time off. I spent each weekend with my boyfriend but we both worked on essays and weekly work. I had two days off at Christmas to go away, but spent the rest of my time writing (including Christmas day itself). I had to.

I dunno how they can justify this £9,000 a year. That's £27,000 for a DIY degree, not including rent, bills, food costs, and the cost of books.

Moving back to the topic... my final year at Uni consisted of 5 to 7 hours a week. 4 of those were in Old English (Beowulf and other poems in their original form!! ), and 1 hour was either Lyrical Ballads or Chaucer, depending on the semester. The rest of the time was in Creative Writing, which happened on alternate weeks.

The rule of the college is to always let us out 15 minutes before the lesson ends. My timetable this semester is not so bad. I mostly hate Thursday and sometimes Wednesday because it is my longest day. Some of the lectures tend to put me to sleep though. Sometimes we get let out very early if the teacher says it will be a short class. The most annoying thing ever is if a class is cancelled, and I do no know about it because the notification is always late.

I quite like my timetable but why just put friday lessons on a wednesday then i get a 5 day weekend
