Pretty self-explanatory thread. Instead of what are you currently playing, or what game you last bought you can give a few games here that you are hoping to buy in the (near future).

For me...

Final Fantasy VIII (PC) - while I do already own this game on the PS3 and on actual disc, since I bought the new desktop it runs games a lot smoother. It would be really nice not to have to go to a different room to play a game, so that's one of the reasons I have it on my wishlist for the PC.

The Evil Within - ....yeah. Horror game, but it looks amazing. It reminds me of Outlast and even though I think I'm too scared to play that game as well... :lew: Yeah, it just looks amazing.

What are games you are hoping to buy?
 
Game of Thrones (Telltale) - After playing The Walking Dead seasons 1 & 2, then The Wolf Among Us; i'm so hyped for this game. I doubt i'll play 'tales from Borderlands' as I never really liked that franchise too much but I watch the GoT TV series and it has a great setting so hopefully if Telltale can pull it off I can see this game being incredible.

Wastelands 2 - The sequel to the 20 year old game that inspired the Fallout franchise basically. Turn based strategy where you control and customise a squad of characters. Not without it's flaws but I will definitely be picking this up when/if it goes on sale.

Xenonaughts - Similar to Wastelands 2 but looks pretty much like an original XCOM ripoff. I loved the Xcom remake so i'll be looking to pick this up too when the christmas sale rolls round.

Valkyria Chronicles - Don't know much about this game but it looks interesting. Played the demo and hated it but I think thats because I expected it to be something it's not. Willing to give it a chance for the right price.
 
An HD rendition of FF VII, VIII and XII for the PS3 would be fine!
As well as an HD collection of Silent Hill games, 4, Origins and Shattered Memories, but done by a professional company and using the best quality of the progamming, like the HD FFX/X-2 was.
 
I'll *try* to cut down on the 42 games that are my wishlist. Geez -__-

I think any of the Assassin's Creed games that I don't yet have, really, particularly Black Flag. That Styx game seems really pretty baller too, though, so whatcha gon' do? and just for the sake of thoroughness I'll tack on Tales from the Borderlands as well.

@iSmiff I heard Wastelands 2 missed out on what made the original good, despite the fact it tried hard to be a carbon clone of it. GET A BETTER GAME :wacky:
 
My oh myyy do I have a few on my wishlist!

Things I'm wistfully hoping to get this side of Christmas though; Assassin's Creed Unity, Assassin's Creed Rogue, Digimon All-Star Rumble, Skyrim, The Wolf Among Us and, because it's been recommended to me so freaking much, Tales Of Xillia 1 & 2.
 
Unfortunately for me, I had moved out with my bf and my sister stole my PS4 even though we went halfsies :rage: so all the games coming out on the system is a no go for me. I do have the PS3 but still, it's not quite the same :gonk:
I had been wanting Destiny and Assassins Creed games.
The new Dragon age as well.
I've been living under a rock i guess, because I can't seem to think of any new games on my wishlist.

First i'd have to get all the consoles.. too bad im a broke college kid. :sad3:

Mass Effect I've heard was good. I also played one of the tales game, and i'd add those to my wishlist.

I'm not exactly sure how far away some of these games are from releasing, but here are some of the games I'm anticipating the most:

Kingdom Hearts 3 tops the list for me. It's been a long wait since KH2's release in--what--2005? I bought a PS3 solely in anticipation of KH3. Didn't think I'd end up buying a PS4 for the exact same reason.
 
I'd like to get Shadow of Mordor sometime, though preferably the console version. Maybe when I get a PS4 when FFXV comes out.

There's only a few games that appeal to me. Two of them are not released yet: Kingdom Hearts III and FFXV. I do have my eye on KH 1.5 and 2.5 HD for PS3. I would've gotten it already were it not for my PS3's blu ray player crapping out. So maybe in a few months.

Right now, Banished (on steam) is keeping me happy.
 
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward; to the surprise of no one, the expansion for FFXIV tops my most anticipated list at the moment, simply because I'm currently caught up in the Eorzean fever. There's still much we have yet to be told about the expansion in terms of content and how some of the announced features will exactly work, so I'm eager to see more from upcoming events. From what we know so far, we're getting three new jobs: Dark Knight, Astrologian and Machinist. Free Company airships are promised, along with a vague hint suggesting some form of cross-FC feature. The idea of fighting Bismarck in the clouds presumably on an airship with no safety rails sounds tantalising, as does being able to hop on a flying mount and glide from floating landmass to another.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong; there have been reasons to be sceptical of Harebrained Schemes when Returns first came out. It was touted as a return to form for the isometric cyberpunk-occult tactical RPG, but it was severely limited in scope and what they could do with it in terms of design, as it was built also with tablets in mind. While still a very decent RPG, it is somewhat easy, egregiously linear, and just lacks the sort of scope that was expected of it when it was successfully funded on Kickstarter. Luckily, its expansion Dragonfall came and put to sleep so many of these fears. It has a much more engaging storyline, is noticeably less linear in game design and generally offers much more in the way of interesting experimentation and the opportunity for roleplaying. Due to the brilliant pedigree of Dragonfall, the next expansion (Hong Kong) us unlikely to let me down. For one, it drops tablets completely in favour of PC and Mac only. Gone should be excuses of technical limitations!

I would say FF7 but depending on what I see in December will determine if I buy that game. If I see Cloud and he's ugly as fuck I'm done with the entire FF franchise. I don't even care how that sounds :lew:

If there's a single upcoming game that I can list without any hesitancy, unless it transpires that they have absolutely cocked it up, because Darth EA cooked up a bunch of innovative new insidious ideas to ruin everyone's experience, it's Mass Effect: Andromeda.

I'm just excited to see what BioWare's main team can put together for a current generation entry. Given the general popularity of the RPG genre now, as ludicrously diverse as it is as a genre, I would want the team to have the temerity to swing the balance back towards the RPG side of their roots, rather than the more streamlined and combat-oriented gameplay that became more prominent by the time Mass Effect 3 arrived. Despite its wealth of flaws, I do feel the original Mass Effect comes closest to what I envision would be ideal for the franchise to go forward with, even if Mass Effect 2 is my favourite installment. So I am excited to see the Mako's triumphant return. Here is hoping that there are compelling reasons to use it and that it will greatly enhance the traversal and exploration element of the game, rather than some shoehorned and overused tank combat mechanic ala Arkham Knight.

Fingers crossed that I will have a current generation machine of my own by then. Chances are, that may not happen until 2017, which is more than enough time for the PS4 to build up a considerably compelling library by then. Come that time, I will be more willing to seriously add more titles to the list. I may even include FFXV. Their PR has been horrible and my raw excitement for the game has long dissipated over the course of several years (and the demo never really wowed me), but I still have to experience it with my own senses because we all need that critical closure. Their future showings of the game will have to pull out all the stops to rekindle that lost excitement I had for a game starring Noctis and company and Tabata has quite the hill to climb to sate me.
 
Hmmm right now I have a couple of games I hope to pick up in the coming years.

1) Battlefield V
2) Cyberpunk 2077
3) The new Tomb Raider (MAYBE)
4) And of course Halo: Infinite. Honestly I just hope that they bring it all back to what made Halo great in the first place. The trailer shown at E3 had a new art-style that was super reminiscent of Bungie's original trilogy, so I'm beyond excited to see what's next. Please don't mess it up 343i. PLEASE.

Oh you sweet summer child. I remember when I was excited for the new ME game too. FEELS BAD.
 
Honestly, I never ask for games these days because I'm so far behind on them. I figure I have more than enough to keep me occupied, so why bother adding to the backlog?

So the last 2 years I got into Mega Man, mainly because I had 3 for NES and knew the game was fun and the music was awesome. So I downloaded the soundtracks to the legacy games (1-6, all for NES) and loved the music. Then I got the Legacy Collection for 3DS and chipped away at all of them. To make a long story endless, I got really into Mega Man.

To segue into the topic, I have the Mega Man X Legacy Collection for PS4 on my wish list. I'm not as familiar with the music (though I want to be) and I've watched playthrough's of a few of the games and now I want to play them for myself.

The Last of Us Part II [PS4]​

I think The Last of Us Part II speaks for itself really. If Naughty Dog hit their potential with this game as they did with The Last of Us, I think it's nailed on to be game of this console generation. let alone game of the year. Throughout the whole of the Uncharted legacy & The Last of Us, I don't think Naughty Dog have released any game that has been short of phenomenal. The gameplay demo alone looks absolutely brutal. There are some games that will never live up to the hype in a million years; Naughty Dog taking the time to polish the game up, to me, means this absolutely isn't one of those games.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX [Switch]

Only ever played one Mystery Dungeon game previously (Super, I think) and found it pleasant and a lot better than I thought it would be, so it'll be nice to have a crack at the OG Mystery Dungeon title given that it's rated as up there with the best of them, if not the best.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons [Switch]

Another franchise, similar to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, that I've only ever played one title (New Leaf). Again, enjoyed what I actually played but I approached it very, very casually and didn't put a lot of time into it, so probably didn't get anywhere near as much out of it as I should have. So... looking forward to putting the hours into New Horizons to see what all the commotion is about.

Persona 5: Royal [PS4]

Persona 5 is probably the longest I have ever committed to a single player game in twenty seven years at 180+ hours so naturally I'm going to do it all over again to finish off the extras in Persona 5 Royal... much to the excitement of my fiancée who doesn't know there's another release. Jokes, she hates it (granted, it definitely is not a game for non-gamers to sit and watch). Genuinely one of my favourite games of all time, despite never playing a previous Persona game before Persona 5, so can't wait to pick it up again!

Final Fantasy VII Remake [PS4]​

Excited to actually get to play it for the first time. Other than the obvious fanbase hype, I'll be going into the Final Fantasy VII remake free from expectation and minimal knowledge on what to expect so it's a win-win; almost like playing an entirely new game.

Cyberpunk 2077 [PS4]

Admittedly, I don't know a lot about the game so far - I'm generally avoiding information because I do think this is one game that could actually fall under the weight of its own expectation. Given the critical response to The Witched 3, I'm fully on board that CD Projekt Red has the tools to produce another outstanding game, but I'd much rather go into this one with no real anticipation of what to expect.


Honorable mentions:

Assassins Creed Odyssey & Death Stranding, both of which I've yet to play but would like to.

This expansio is in my top wish list from the Nintendo Switch games. I already own the base game and play it. Now I am waiting for the expansion to be release in summer of 2022.

- Horizon Forbidden West

This game is one of the game that I am really interested on for the PS5. I don't own one yet but once I get my hands on a PS5 this will be the first game I will be getting.

- Hellblade II Senua's Saga
- Elden Ring

This are the other two games that are definitely part of my wishlist. I will update this list if I see any other games that interest me for both consoles.

- Bayonetta 3 (What's the hold up Kamiya?)

I would recommend getting Breath of the Wild. If you enjoy open world games, like even more open world than most all Zelda games you would love this one. I loved it and there is so much to do in this game too so it will be quite some time before you run out of anything to do. The story is also wonderful, even the DLC's are worth it as well. Very good game, Highly Recommend.
