So who's going where this year? I booked my jollies on New Years day so now I'm skint as I paid outright for me and the boy to go 4 star all inclusive in Lanzarote in April. Better than having to pay in bits and bats though, he's just gunna cough up his half when hes got some overtime done lol

Not quite Summer I know, but sod off, I had the tune in my head for some bizarre reason, hence the thread

I wanna go away in August too, but I think I need to get some more pennies first :wacky:

How very dare you get Darren Day stuck in my head :mokken:

I may be going to France in June to piss it up and rock the fuck out in a field with thousands of like-minded Metallers at Hellfest. That is the closest thing to a 'holiday abroad' im going to have this year. Theres talk of doing Metal Camp in Slovenia too, which means a road trip across Europe :wacky:

I haven't planned to go away in the summer yet and may not book anything - I kinda want to stay at work for as long as I can before I start my course in September.

However, I WILL be booking a skiing holiday for March soon! :D Dad and I are just looking for the best deals. My mum hates skiing so she's not coming along, but that does mean we can go when it's not busy. :) I can't wait! (I've been skiing five times before, in France, then Italy, then France twice, then Austria. Love it! :awesome:)

Caravan where i go every year over the summer :D only thing that annorying is that having no internet for a month sucks, it took me well over a month to catch up with youtube and my photoshop skills went dowwn the pan :( but it a awesome place to chill out after being at uni all year soo yh can't wait :D

I can't speak for the summer, but I do know that I'm off to Budapest, Hungary this late March with the History society. It won't be a long trip and would stretch 3-4 days at the most, with enough time to sample all the landmarks, the inevitable waves of museums (I've seen a Budapest museum on TV that's modeled after a war bunker with wax people allegedly dying from gas attacks - which is pleasant - hope we get to check that out!) and more importantly, the Hungarian nightlife. Oh, and the spas.

Unfortunately however, they're making us stay in some kind of hostel, which brings back unpleasant memories of the time when we stayed in a Belgian hostel near Ypres. In October. We might go away in the summer, but I don't know where yet. Probably to Germany where we have family members and know people there. I haven't been for a while, and I need an excuse to practise my German again.

Costa Del Sol in June for 2 weeks.

I pretty much hinted how much I thought I 'needed' a holiday during my summer break 2011 to my grandma and granddad and then mentioned it during my Xmas holidays 2011 and now they've booked the sun, sea, beach and babes for 2 weeks. A free holiday sounds fantastic. :ohoho:

Berlin in march. March is the plan so gunna see what the guys think and hopefully get it booked for then. If it comes a few months later then im not too worried. I know jimmy has exams so march would suit him perfectly i think.
Wanna go down to Edinburgh for a week aswell during the fringe :ryan:

I plan on going on a summer trip as well for part of my graduation present

We are going to drive down to Florida and I'm going to do the whole Disneyworld/Sea World/Busch Gardens thing....since I never did get to do that as a kid. After I visit all of those places I plan on spending the rest of my time on the beach, next to a pool, or sleeping. I really can't wait. To get away for a couple of weeks should be so fun. The only part I'm really not looking forward to is the drive :damon:

Tradition is for the bride and groom to keep a chunk of the wedding cake and eat it on the first wedding anniversary. Our cake stayed behind in San Antonio, so the wife and I will be heading to Texas this summer to share some stale cake. My mom's 50th birthday is a couple days later as well, so there's a gathering being planned for that as well.

I feel your pain on the drive, Mel. It's 24 hours from here to SA for us. :gonk:

Oh yes, you must! It's amazing - I've been four times, I believe. I've seen such a variety of shows each time! :D The best have ranged from Sarah Millican, a silent Martial Arts comedy (which ended with all the characters running up the wall, literally), a comedy show about a gothic-like house with time travel and full frontal nudity, a monologue about Malvolio from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (absolutely hilarious and very convincing) and Showstopper, which was an entirely improvised musical created from ideas submitted by the audience; the one I watched included an ancient forest, magic, time travel, and at some point a pop star. The singing is top notch, there's comedy, the characters are formed on the spot and are still convincing!

Then there are the less good shows...like comedy that simply doesn't hit the right notes and Louis De Burnier singing Greens Leaves for 10 minutes...but you take the rough with the smooth.

If you go, check out Hendersons and David Bahn, two restaurants! They're both veggie, but both incredibly popular and the food is amongst the best I've had. :)

HAhahaha nice one. I thought you were american for whatever reason o_o I dont know why =p
Ive been down to edinburgh for the fringe every year since 2007 i think it was :hmmm: Theres always some great bands playing but ive only stayed the night or 2. Instead i wanna make it a week long affair and see what i can find :D Theres always comedy shows and stuff wev been offered to go to but ive never had the time to actually go to any of them and see if theyre any good.
I love it there. People are always so friendly and rose street is a mass of bars :lew:

I am going to see the Loch Ness Monster in August. That is not summer for Australia but it is summer over there :hmmm: so I guess it is still a summer holiday.

Summer is over but I am on holidays now and it's lovely Autumn weather. <3

I'm not going anywhere but I do have three weeks off.

We're going up to the Sunshine Coast in August this year, which will be Winter, so not the best time for the beaches. My brother is getting married so we'll be staying in a hotel for a few days. Plus he's getting married the day after my birthday, so it's a birthday holiday slash our Anniversary holiday and Steve's birthday all in one. XD

I haven't been on a decent holiday in years. I used to go once a year to Butlins, but that was 10 years ago at least. I can't afford to go away tbh. However, I'm going away this year, nowhere really exotic though.

My family and I are considering doing a mini tour of a few places in Europe! I really want to see Munich and Bruges! :) I am pondering over whether or not to spend my money from work on a trip to New Zealand. I've wanted to go for years to see a friend there. I'd be travelling alone. :lew: It's so expensive! I'm hoping there'll be a deal. I can't afford the full thing.
