I saw @Hakumen suggesting this in the SB one night, so I thought why not? We'll go ahead and update the User ranks per usergroup. Instead of the stars, a user bar will be used.

Yes x10. Amazing idea, and we'dve had this a long time ago if we knew it was possible! All for it. :D
 
No, not all customizable. They will basically be set per usergroup. Administrators, Moderators, Global Admins, Members, Full-Members, Veterans, etc. We will all share the same userbar if we're in the same usergroup basically.

Also, what's the difference between a "member" and a "full member"?
 
I thought we has something like that before, so it would be cool to see it return.
 
Post-counts, @Cookie McGee, I think Spam is also hidden for normal members and becomes available for full members. Depending on how many posts you have. Also, no all the user-bars will be pimptastic. :ohoho: Although! SOMEONE is being a party pooper about animations.

However, the idea is to make one userbar for every usergroup. I also imagine that, with there being a lot of members, "polls" will be going up to see which people like most.

The current one is not the end result, btw. It's a tester. xD

Because I am far too amazing to have a plain userbar. I want something pink. With hearts.

While I agree that that would be amazing, it's highly unlikely we're gonna see that. It was the original idea if anything, but considering it's tied to usergroups, that would make it impossible. It's not based on usernames, which if that were the case, it could've worked... :hmmm:
 
Also just in case people wonder, we're just testing out the ranks display as far as text, sizes, and colors go. Nothing is official.

Personally, I find the animation a bit too distracting, but that's just me. I'd prefer something very subtle. If you guys want animation, that's fine too. :)
 
Members should have a bar that says "member" "newbie" or "veteran"

Looks like everyone is happy with my idea. Thank you all for accepting it especially to you Mitsuki for making it happen. I appreciate it a lot!
 
I do like that animation one. Though not to be picky since some people want to customize it, would it be possible to get different colors through the VB shop at all?

Agreed. Its much nicer just as a plain image. The animation kinda irritates me =p
 
Sadly enough, no. It's really just a majority vote settling on one colour. Due to the buttons being linked to usergroups, it can't just be singled out to one person purchasing a different coloured button. For example, the coloured threads? They're available for everyone as long as they're purchased, and can be customized accordingly, however... They are tied to single users, unlike the buttons, the buttons are basically replacing the "veteran" and "staff" silver and gold stars.

For Staff it's pretty easy, because the buttons will go by usergroup colour, but with such a huge community we'll have to be careful with what colours to pick. My understanding in this is, (bar current the orange will be for veteran members) that if most are unhappy with the current colours a voting will take place. Mitsuki might be able to give more insight on that, but I'm pretty sure that's how it's going to be.

Members and Full Members will (most likely) not have animated userbars, and they're white themed, but with veterans we do wanna give that extra "special" push, and go for animation, and a splash of colour.

Long story short, I highly doubt colours will be available for customization unless there is a way to select the userbars per member, which, I once again highly doubt due to it being a setting for "usergroups".
