Most people make a thread about one specific character but now i'm making one about 10 because 1 would be to difficult to decide.... Anyway so yeah, in no order mine are:

1: Laguna - He Just owns and has the same personality as me.
2: Squall - Main character from my fave game ever and he's not annoying to me.
3: Edward - Sad when you find out what happens to his kingdom and all he goes through before
he 'dies'
4: Rydia - One of the best 4 characters but i can't explain why.
5: Yang - He's basically the chuck norris of final fantasy.
6: Kefka - Hard to describe him he's just so awesome and because Dissidia gave him a voice actor he became even more awesome.
7: Kuja - Even though he's more feminine then some female characters i like the fact that he's a villain
who after being defeated realises what matters etc.
8: Jecht - Manliest man ever!!!! Also he's a whale.
9: Paine - Basically a female Squall and she was the only character i liked in X-2.
10: Gabranth - Obviously he was gonna be here....... He has an awesome accent, he's like he is for a reason unlike most characters and he is just awesome.

So that's my top 10 fave character list what's yours?

My top 10 Final Fantasy character are as follows:

Squall Leonhart
Cloud Strife
Vincent Valentine
Sephiroth
Jecht
Setzer
Kain Highwind
Beatrix
Gabranth

In no order here's mine-
1. Vincent Valentine-He has a very creepy yet cool yet sad past, he's good lookin and he's CHAOS. Awesome right? :wacky:
2. Cloud-DUH. His hair to his motorcycle to his giant sword to his badass personality, he is just to die for ;))
3. Fran-I loved her voice, and she was very gorgeous. yay bunnies!
4. Lulu-Not sure why but I always loved Lulu! She was really pretty, her dress was really weird but it worked for her. Also it was always useful (more in the beginning) to have a black mage.
5. Yuna- Of course I'm gonna put Yuna in there. She was cute yet beautiful at the same time, and she was "sweet yet outgoing".
6. Rinoa- I always liked her. Her eyes were really sweet to me. Also loved her personality, and loved the outfit. Was tomboyish yet a bit feminine.
7. Kadaj- Why? His voice, his hair, and his overall sexiness.
8. Balthier- He was just so cool and laid back, yet was the "leading man".
9. Aerith- I love Aerith, so feminine and cheerful, always making everyone else happy.
10. Tifa- Tough on the outside yet soft on the inside. Found her really useful in battle too ^_^

Sadly I couldn't fit in Penelo, Quistis, Squall (I shoulda put him in, I like him more that lots of the character above), Tidus, Rikku, or Yuffie, but if it were top 15 I would have!

Cloud lies about being in Soldier, left zack to die on a cliff took credit for his work.
Tifa i don't have a problem with i just don't like 7.
Aerith was annoying then she made cloud more emo.
Vincent i like his back story and the nightmare begins if that's what plays when finding him. Vincent will be a last resort char to the list as he is optional....
Even though Yuffie is optional she owns

OOhhh mine are:

1:Yuna - my reasons are too epic to explain!
2: paine - gothic and cool... as said shes a female squall
3:Eiko - shes sooo cute and i really like how she loves zidane
4:Tifa - shes awesum lol
5:Jecht - most badass theme and pulling his sword out his chest was badass
6:Ferya - best trance design in ffix
7:Rinoa - magically shes a god!
8:Ashe - i just connected with her really well
9:Shuliyn - like tidus but more badass
10:and leblanc ( remember that name well loves!)

:D xxxx

My top 10

Here Goes...........

1)Sephiroth: I mean come on, how much more cool can a bad guy get?
2)Vincent Valentine: Has quite possibly one of the coolest outfits ever
3)Barret: his limit break was seriously the shiznit
4)Tifa: Her Boobs(need I say more?)
5)Lulu: Boobs
6)Rikku: Has some of the funniest lines in X-2
7)Selphie: I don't know why but I always found her attractive(and her limit break is really helpfull(especially if you have a lot of Triple magic))
8)Squall: um.........Gunblade?!?!?!
9)Rinoa: Also found her attractive
10)Stiner: I don't even know why I am even putting him on my list but........

:hmmm:

1. Zidane,
2. Vivi,
3. Cloud,
4. Tidus,
5. Vincent,
6. Balthier
7. Steiner,
8. Tifa,
9. Aerith,
10. Kuja

It's kind of a loose order because the ones after 5 I kinda like equally :)

I think that we should give detailed answers guys before Fleur comes and tells us off. :gasp:

1 Garnet Till Alexandros. Garnet has always been my fav, because of how strong, brave and independent she is, and sexy, so sexy she makes a orange jumpsuit look sexy.
:britt: Also like how she was planning to escape the castle on her own and she doesn't want to rely on Zidane, she wants to prove that she can do things by herself and she's very strong mentally.

2. Yuffie. Yuffie is so fun and free and a little sneaky and a bit of a bitch, but she's a loveable bitch. She's so cunning, and hyper and it's cool how much how she cares about her country. She is caring, but a little crazy and obsessive at the same time. She's a nice person, but with flaws.

3. Tifa. This girl is strong, tough and powerful. She's so beautiful and love it how supportive she is towards her family in AC, Also loved it in the original game, how much she cared about Cloud. Tifa is a tough lady, but inside she's a softie. Warm hearted and gentle.

4. Aeris. Her name is Aeris dammit ! :shakefist: Aeris is tougher than most people think, imagine living in those slums and having to do with creeps, rapists and theifs, though she still manages to keep a warm smile on her face. Even Aeris hasn't lived the best of lifes, she still manages to remain hopeful, kind, spiritual and a good team supporter. Girl has guts :mokken:

5. Zidane. First man on list ! Zidane starts out as a flirt, and would do anything to touch some boobies, but during the game he matures, and starts to realize that helping others is a more important ambition. Zidane is a good leader, got good sense of humor, and he's so kind and caring towards Garnet, Vivi and the others. Love him.

6. Squall. During the beginning he's a huge asshole. But he learns to warm up. Squall learns not to let his fears over take him and eat up his life, or destroy his life. He learns by the help of friendship, but he's more of a avatar or a icon for people who fear something in life and he's easy to relate too, hard to explain, but I've seen tons of people who are like Squall. I didn't like Squall at first and thought that he was ass, but he's so.... realistic ?
:hmmm:

7. Rinoa. Rinoa is so kind. She can be a bit of a damsel. But she's the one who looks through Squall's shell and wants to help him out. Rinoa cares more about others, and she's also cute, cheerful, silly and romantic. I also feel sorry for her, because of all the trouble, dangers and changes she goes through. She's also innocent and naive, which is cute.

8. Edge. Edge is cool because he's a ninja. Seriously, he's kind of like a older version of Zidane. He cares about other people, but he's a huge flirt. Though he gets extra points for being a ninja.

9. Lulu. Lulu is a bit snappy sometimes, but she's like a kind and caring mother. She's like a mother to Tidus and Yuna and is the wise voice of wisdom. She's also a little sad about loosing her love, but she keeps the pain inside. Don't get her being with Wakka later on though, thought that they always hated each other, or Wakka drove Lulu insane, and Lulu was flirting with Tidus soooo much before X-2 !

10. Locke. Locke is my favourite Final Fantasy 6 character and probably the reason why I have played it so much. He should of been in Dissidia dammit !

1) Cloud
2) Squall
3) Rikku
4) Auron
5) Cecil
6) Balthier
7) Rydia
8) Kain
9) Vanille
10) Steiner

Cloud and Squall are the top 2, because their two games were what got me started on the series. I have spent the most time controlling those two characters, and so I feel a lot more affection towards them than any others.

I love Rikku, she's got a lot of energy and spirit, but she's got a massive heart too. Vanille is essentially a lot like Rikku, but not quite as charming, so is only at #9 (but that's still great).

Auron and Cecil are there because of how awesome they are. I can't help but like automatically the characters that are the best fighters. These two are a big pair of tanks. But also, they have really interesting stories to them.

Balthier and Steiner are there because they are so entertaining. They are funny in completely different ways, of course.

Rydia is awesome, because her transformation is one of the most interesting and original situations I've found myself in as a player. Also there is something poignant about her meeting with Cecil, it's like Cecil's first step towards the light.

Kain is that mysterious type character who looks really cool (like Shadow, Edge, Vincent etc), but he is in here above those others because of how central he is to the plot of the game.

Breakdown
3 - FFIV
2 - FFX
1 - FFVII
1 - FFVIII
1 - FFIX
1 - FFXII
1 - FFXIII

(these figures surprised me, didn't realise how strong the cast from FFIV was)

1. Cloud Strife -- He's the ass we hate to love but love to love! He's antisocial, quirky, cold, calculated, distant, simplistic and cocky! A concoction of awesome, SE definitely hit the jackpot with Cloud, he was so original, he was an ass without being whiny and emo, and started out telling people to blow-off and that he didn't care about the world -- yet he said words like mosey!I think Cloud was the perfect protagonist, he didn't want to be a hero yet he eventually knew it had to be done and took the job up!

2. Aerith Gainsborough --
Definitely my favorite FF Heroine.
What can I say? She was so appealing to me in FFVII, I mean from her gramatical mistakes all the way to her forcing Cloud to dress up for her. She was a charmer both in and out of Game. I always liked that she was so cheery yet still had a mysterious side and had her own problems but didn't let them ruin her, she was innocent yet not childish -- She wasn't selfish and she wasn't a Mary Sue a refreshing thing for an FF girl.
She had great presence! I love that about her!

3. Yuffie
Kisaragi -- I hated that they tried to rip her off in X with Rikku, what the hell was with that? Though they failed anyway, Yuffie is definitely an original gal; I mean who else can make being self-centered and arrogant the traits of a good-guy? I loved her in her Novel too, but I hated how they made her act in DoC -- but she looked beautiful nonetheless!
I also love her story too, she's always been a tough kid even if she really doesn't strike fear into her opponents; you definitely better take her seriously.

4. Vincent Valentine -- I love him, he's so dark and mysterious yet kick-ass and cold; but somehow he came off like he wasn't aware of this himself xD His story was a interesting one, he was loyal, metaphoric, vampire-Casanova. And he was strangely quirky as well.

5. Sephiroth -- Best bad guy ever, is all I can say. He's sexy, evil, and maniacal to boot! Sephiroth is and always will be the reigning supreme baddie in my eyes

6. Setzer Gabiani
-- I loved him, he reminded me of Gambit and I think that's why I initially ended up falling for him...well that and he looked like Sephiroth to me xD but it only started out that way.

7. Terra Branford -- She was strong alluring and mysterious, the best female from Final Fantasy VI if you ask me and the only one who wasn't a DID and actually had problems she worked herself through -- and she never even had family :< She was so motherly too!

8. Tifa Lockhart - Who couldn't like her? I mean she is kind, yet firm and those are two things that usually don't go together well, and I absolutely loved when she called Barret a "retard" (poor Barret!)
Tifa was like the bid sister of Final Fantasy VII knocking sense into people and helping save the day! And bitch slapping Scarlet, hilarious xD

9. Irvine Kinese -- I love sharpshooters, but Irvine wasn't perfect and he still pulled off the 'player' thing so well, I really like Irvines cool, collected attitude, he is actually one of FF's most original guys.

10. Balthier -- Not a lot of good character in the FFXII bunch but Balthier definitely made that game shine! A "Silver-toungue" what more need be said! I loved him much, I wish we could see more of him on a bigger console than a hand-held :<

My favorites are in no particular order after Laguna.

Zack Fair
A normal guy wanting to help others and live by his mentors wise saying of 'embrace your dreams but protect your honor'. He's charming, funny, kind and thoughtful. He's willing to risk his own life to protect a friend and go through hell and back to see that he reaches his dream on becoming a heroic 1ST class SOLDIER. Playing through Crisis Core, I didn't see anything at all to dislike about him. Zack is my number one!

Aerith Gainsborough
Brave, beautiful and calm even in unusual situations, Aerith gave her life to protect the planet by casting Holy with her last remaining moments. She didn't seem to sugar-coat reality and went straight to the main point of things when questions needed to be answered. She had an amazing sense of humour, loyalty and love.

Cloud Strife
This man has went through a lot of things and I never understood why people think of him as an 'emo' sort of person. In Crisis Core, he is friendly. Shows a weakness to travelling and even smiles casually! He shows nerves when confronted with the possibility of Tifa finding him and even displays trust towards Zack. At the horror of seeing his friend pass before his eyes after making every effort to protect him, he is riddled with grief. His hero is no longer a good guy (Sephiroth). His home was set into flames. His crush (Aerith) is killed by said 'hero' whilst he was meant to be her guard. Even more guilt on his part. Would you be cheery?! I know I wouldn't be. Yet he still pulls through in the end. So yeah, Cloud is one of my top ten.

Laguna Loire

Totally the same with me i have exactlly the same personallity as him nothing is different.

1.) Yuna- Because although she's selfless, she isn't stereotypical, and boring. She is strong, and she knows what she has to do. A little bit different from the other FF ladies. PRE FFX-2 that is.

2.) Zack Fair- I love the way his character grows from naïve to still cheerful, but haunted. Just the way he carried himself towards the end was interesting, and heartbreaking to me. You don't have to be emo to brood!

3.) Auron. Do I need to explain myself?

4.) Lightning- She gets so much hate. If I guy acted EXACTLY like she did, many of her haters would be like "omg, so bishi!". Though, I can understand why some don't like her. She can get to be a little much, but that proves shes human. Or... l'Cie. I still think she's kick ass, no nonsense, yet still sexy.

5.) Vincent Valentine- Just the fact that he had the strength to carry on, and continue to fight after everything he's been through.

6.) Tifa Lockhart- She's just a sweetheart, really. I wish I knew more people like her.

7.) Squall- Proving that not every hero needs an entourage, but still has the capacity to care. He's quiet, but not quite the same as Cloud's quiet.

8.) Tidus- Another character who we could see grow through the game. He was a little bitch in the beginning of ten, but flourished into the hero who
almost
got the girl.

9.) Yuffie- I just think she's fun, and cute. Plus, she's a ninja.

10.) Rikku- pretty much the same reasons for Yuffie...

1. Oerba Yun Fang - This is the first and only cahracter thats exactly like me in every single way <3
2. Yuffie Kisaragi - I love everything about her from her percky and upbeat attitude.
3. Oerba Dia Vanille - Before FFXIII I would probably not even like her but a special someone in my life acts exactly like her and it just makes me like the character even more xD
4. Melidoul Tingel - I can say she had one of the best skill sets ever and I love her class the Divine Knight. I thought her shellbust stab was pretty cool, and her feelings towards ramza always amazed me.
5. Lighting - I like serious characters and lighting is one of the best ones out their, I can understand how she feels on everything she did.
6. Leon - Mainly for his attitude and seeing the gunblade for the first time was amazing.
7. Paine - Everything about the character and her attitude xD
8. Tifa - Loved everything about her as well
9. Sephiroth - This should have no description but he's my favorite villian for a reason :)
10. Penelo - The only character next to Ashe I liked in XII .__.

1:Squall……His character development….
2:Auron…Badass Mo’ Fo’
3:Vivi….I like his melancholy….
4:Zidane….A departure from previous Protagonists….
5:Firion(dissidia) his will….
6: Yuna(FF X) The will for self sacrifice…..
7:Lightning….Probably has a Bigger schlong than every other male character….
8:Sazh….His driving force, very emotional
9:Tidus…..I like his character…
10:Tifa…..boobs…
In no particular order, except for the top three….

In no particular order...

Laguna:
Despite being a skilled solider, he's 100% awkward with the ladies. Seeing this contrast in his character was great. It made me smile and made Laguna feel very real.

Steiner:
He's quite possibly the most amusing character across all of the games! He felt more real, too; his reactions were very much in line with his personality.

Garnet:
I admire her independence. She gets into trouble, but she's not weak; she falls in love, but she doesn't forget her duty.

Lulu:
There was something rather profound in everything she said. Her perception of life and people was sophisticated, and her relationship with the other characters was well done. She was slightly mysterious too, which gave her an edge.

Vincent:
I don't know a lot about Vincent, but the way he carries himself and the look in his eyes both suggest a certain depth to his character.

Yuna:
She's so strong and selfless. From the moment I met her in the game, I admired her behaviour and her philosophy of life. She wanted to do good; she wanted to know that others were happy, and she was willing to do everything in her power to ensure that they were...even if the time she could offer was limited.

Zidane:
I enjoyed seeing Zidane develop from a bit of a flirt. Despite acting rather cocky at the start, it emerged that he was really rather awkward and perhaps a little uncertain about his relationship with others and his place in the world. He was quite funny too. :)

Red XIII:
It's been ages since I played VII, but I remember thinking that Red's dialogue was excellent. He possessed wisdom.

Auron

Squall
I very much enjoyed his character development, and found the struggle he had with his emotions convincing.

Hmm...

Well, sorry to say, but how can it be hard to choose just one favorite character? You just put Laguna at the top of your list of ten, so he should be your favorite, right? But, I still kind of see your point.

My list isn't necessarily in order of any kind, just my ten favorites.

Cloud Strife:
I loved Cloud's whole reluctant hero thing. Plus, the love triangle between him, Tifa and Aerith is cool. But, overall, Cloud was the first real video game character that I thought was wicked awesome, and what's more awesome than a 21 year old young man with a big-ass sword when you're 7 years old?

Squall Lionheart:
I like Squall because he's your typical 'quiet cool type', but also because I think that his development throughout his story is amazing. I liked how he warms up to Rinoa's free-spirited nature, and learns to show his true feelings towards his comrades. And FFVIII was all about friendship, and Squall learning that he can't do everything alone.

Tidus(TIE-DUS, people):
I liked his story, because it was really unique, epic, sad, and satisfying. He was just some famous athlete that was a hotshot at his respective sport, but ended up saving the world, and falling in love. Plus, his carefree spirit, yet serious nature when the time calls for it makes him a respectable character.

Yuna:
I loved Yuna's innocent, yet strong personality, and it really spoke to me when I was playing FFX. I loved her love for Tidus, and the romance that encircled them. I was so sad when I finished FFX. It hurt to see her try to
hug Tidus, but kept falling through his disappearing body...
the end was truly the best ending out of the FF series, if you ask me. I however, didn't really care for Yuna in FFX-2...

Tifa Lockhart:
I liked Tifa's tomboyish, albeit, sweet and caring personality. She's a tough young woman, but still a young woman nonetheless. Aside from the most obvious attraction to Tifa, I really did like her character. I always had her in my party when I could. I also loved the humor between her and the others.

Zack Fair:
He was a true hero--that's for sure. One of the most memorable characters in Final Fantasy history, and it was all because of his sacrifices. How Cloud could end up forgetting all about him in the events of FFVII, I will never know...Zack's the kind of friend that you remember no matter what--even if you are traumatized at a young age and doused in large amounts of radioactive waste. Zack is a friend you remember forever...

Rikku:
All I want to say, is that Rikku was the best care-free, spunky character in the series, that I can think of. I loved her attitude towards things, I loved her silly humor, and also, she was pretty cutesy. She was also a very caring person, when it mattered. Yeah...I liked Rikku.

Aerith Gainsborough:
I liked Aerith in both FFVII and Crisis Core. I really enjoyed her innocent and loving attitude. She was a very funny character at times, too. When she died, I was shocked beyond comparison...she was a perfect match for Zack as a girlfriend. Cloud? Ehh--not so much. He needed Tifa.

Hope Estheim:
Now, before you guys start the hating--I just want to say that I think Hope is a very interesting character. I thought his character development was very nice. Going from being a little wimp, to more of a defined ally. Plus, the connection he has with Lightning throughout the story is great. I also found him quite funny at times, such as when everyone was falling towards Gran Pulse. I can't wait to see how much he's changed in FFXIII-2.

And last, but not least -

Lightning:
I thought that at times, she was a real bitch, lol. But, as the story progresses, she tends to become more likable between her friends, and the player as well. I thought she was a very cool character that has true honor and resolve, and I'm glad to say that I will be playing as her again come January of next year.

Well, that's my list. Love it or hate it--I don't really care. Just felt like contributing to the thread. Later peeps!

Im going try to use only one from each final fantasy game... tough since my favorite has a couple... but I can do it.

1. Cecil (FFIV) The dark knight turned Paladin, and yet is always haunted by what he has done as a dark knight. To me easily the most likable character in FFIV (or most of the FF games.)

2. Ramza (FFT) A noble that tries to always do the right thing... but yet when things aren't as they seem, he tries to fix them and never gets credit even in the end, everything he does he becomes a "traitor" and an enemy of the church.

3. Vivi (FFIX) Yes Vivi, the little innocent Black mage, a scared little black mage, has to overcome so much and learn so much about what he really is. So sad, yet he continues to fight.

4. Kefka (FFVI) Thats right.. A villain has made my list. Who wants to just destroy the world for no reason and has a crazy evil laugh? Poison's the enemy and his soldiers still inside a castle.. what is their not to hate about him? This is why he is on my list, no feeling sorry for him at all, no he was once a good guy, just pure evil.

5. Irvine Kinneas (FFVIII) The smooth talking, lady killing, sniper shooting, guy from FFVIII. A funny character yet not a bad comedian relief character (like Zell, ugh). Irvine really makes some of the scenes in FFVIII funny. Like putting a dirty magazine in an area for a romantic talk... :ahmed:

6. Kimahri Ronso (FFX) Thats right he's my favorite in the FFX game. Why do you ask? cause he knows when not to give up, he never admits defeat, he is silent when he doesn't need to talk, he doesn't say pointless things, or bad things, or rude things. He always guards Yuna till the very end.

7. Lightning (FFXIII) A kick ass girl with an attitude problem towards weak characters. Can't keep up? She will leave your ass behind! (at least at the start of the game.) She tries to destroy everything in order to get revenge..

8.Balthier (FFXII) "I play the leading role in this story" And should he of really? A sky pirate, for his own reasons, Gets dragged into all the events of FFXII and you find out so much more about him as the game progresses, easily one of the best FFXII characters.

9.Tifa Lockhart (FFVII) She has two amazing nice, firm, hard... fist that she beats people up with! She is very caring tries to help out everyone in the party (especially her child hood friend, Cloud.) Easily a character you would like to use in battle and a good character for the story.

10. Exdeath (FFV) Another villain has made my list... Evil Castle, sending people to the Void... Yeah... Pure evil... Yet this isn't why he is my list... He's on it cause of how fun he is to use in the Dissidia Games!
