Tidus and Chappu

Wakka and lulu both said that Tidus looked a lot like Chappu, personally I could not see it. Am I the only one?
 
Square did not spend billions of hours on graphics back then so it's understandable that they don't look a lot like each other.
I can't remember what exactly was said, but imagine that they had similar personalities too, so that probably would have added to the resemblance.
Wakka also treats Tidus a lot like a younger brother, and they both had experiences with sin.
 
Yeh i didnt see it straight away, but you can if you look hard enough, when you see chappu, you can see it is Tidus's face :P
 
But, when do you ever even see Chappu? Except for his translucent appearance in the Farplane?

Its harder to see coz of the fact chappu was transparent and had a different hairstyle and was the same color as wakka, the Personality similarities are probably the most compelling factor in the comparison.

There are a few scenes on FFX-2 in the spheres you collect or something that show wakka and chappu @ the cave?:hmmm:

But he leaves wakka message in one I know that much.
 
If I'm honest, the only thing I saw similar between them was their eyes. Also, when Chappu was alive, he could have been a lot like Tidus in personality, too. So perhaps those two things, as well as others, could be why Wakka sees his brother in Tidus.
 
I think they eyes were the same from X, and I think they were suppose to have the same body built... I'm guessing that is what threw Wakka and Lulu off when they first met him, and thought he looked a lot like Chappu.
 
I think it was more of a similarity than a close likeness and if Chappu had died only fairly recently, it's kind of logical Wakka and Lulu would've suffered what often happens to grieving people, that is seeing their lost loved one in other people. it's a fairly common occurrence.

Though truth be told, Square could've been a little less lazy with Chappu's design or Tidus' and make them more similar to drive the point home...
 
Yes. Definitely. They totally look alike.

Both of them have a striking resemblance to an indecent pile of shit. They are spitting images of each other.
 
I could see it a bit, I think it was there spirit (that shun through their appearance) that resembled each other more, rather than physically having the same features.
 
I think square did what they could given what they had to play with. I mean, they didn't look exactly alike, but no two people do (statistically speaking not being identical twins and all), and Wakka might have eluded to his personality as well. Dunno. Just take it I guess.
 
Tidus and Chappu probably shared the same CGI face, but it was hard to tell since we can't simply zoom in on Chappu's face due to the quality of the graphics.
All we are left with is Wakka's words. Just believe what he said about T and C's similarity. :ryan:
