Something I find typically annoying with religious debate threads.

you can use stuff like a spanish e, and the database recognises it as a separate character even though it looks identical. one of the o's in my name is a russian o or something
 
It depends who on them really. If one person follows up on their claims, then others should do one of these things: Agree, or disagree and and explain why. Disagreeing and not providing reasoning only assumes the other person right, as refusal to explain or not explaining period is taken as the same ordeal.
Also, word games- a sly tool to offset a debate. Distasteful, rude, and only results in certain other people eventually losing their patience.
A healthy debate requires input from everyone. What is right and what isn't cannot be presumed in broad debate, it must be sanctioned with reasoning.
If one does not contribute this rationale, then one cannot deny anything in a debate.

And also, they do tend to be drawn out :D
