I would have posted this in a blog entry, but about 80% of the forum don't read blogs, and this IS the place for leaving threads, so...
Long story short: there is a lot going on in my life at the moment. I've got to try and get my finance sorted for September (hell, I need to apply first, which I can't do until I get a reference, which is taking forever and making me panic) and I've also got a wonderful dissertation to write, entirely unsupervised, since my supervisor has vanished for the entire month and I need to get the bulk of it done for September, and I've only done about a third of it thus far, so I need to get my arse in gear and work on that. I need to apply for jobs in case I can't get a place on this course...oh, and did I mention that the part-time job that hasn't given me work for eight months has started to give me work again? Fucking typical.
That, plus I have a few personal projects that are taking up literally all of my free time. There is also the whole "motivation to be here" thing, which I just don't have right now. So, rather than just fade away and leave people wondering where I am like I did the last time shit started to pile up on me, I'm just going to announce my hiatus here. I'm not quitting outright, because I'll only be back again eventually - I really hate it when people 'quit' a forum and then come back a few weeks later - but this will be a long absence.
I'll be back...when I'm back. That could be anywhen between the 1st of September and the 3rd of December. Both of those dates are extremes, though. I'd need to do EVERYTHING this month to be back in September, and I'd have to be stupidly lazy and negligent to get everything done by the deadline date in December. So, somewhen between those two dates. It depends on how well my writing goes, and what else I can get done in the meantime. Many, many things, all of them combining to make me highly uncertain as to where my life is going to go over the next few months...or the next few weeks, even. If I'm not back by the 3rd of December, assume me dead and carry on.
I might post a blog from time to time, or randomly appear in the shoutbox, but I doubt it. I'll still be active on messenger programs, since I do all of my work on my laptop, and for some weird reason conversations don't distract me when I'm working...people just get their replies about 45 minutes after the fact. Or I have offline conversation with people. So I'll try not to drop off the face of the planet.
But eh, whatever. I expect a lot of people will be glad to see the back of me...do try and have fun with that. For the rest of you, take care, and I'll see you when I see you. TTFN~
