I can recall the first fad in school being dinosaurs. We all had this HUGE dinosaur craze, where we'd dig up the sandpit pretending we'd found fossils. We all used to compete for the right to be a particular Power Ranger, as well
Like pretty much everyone, I remember Pokemon cards...those were fairly big, although once they got confiscated, the hype kinda died down. I can remember some of us brought them into school anyway, got caught, and then our teacher stuck them all in his drawer...in one big pile. It took us well over an hour to sort them out afterwards...not pleased
We went through stages of sorts at my school, according to what was on CITV at the time. After the Orange Islands season of Pokemon, Digimon started being shown, so we were all into that pretty much instantly. Then it was Cardcaptors afterwards, in year 7. Everyone got into Yu-Gi-Oh! after that, but since that was aired on Sky, I didn't get to watch it, so I didn't get into that until much later. After that, that was pretty much it for fads.
