New scans have emerged courtesy of Shonen Jump magazine, although they don't show anything tremendously new. They show Vanille's Eidolon Hecatoncheir in both its forms, Cid Raines and the other two guys including the priest.

Ooh, another warrior Cid... I wonder if he'll work for or against the party though...

The side view of Vanille's Eidolon looks good, now we have a bit more of an image of it's shape.

I wonder if the other guys will be enemies or not...

Nice pose, Vanille :shame:

Ah well, that Cid is pretty different from what we've seen but I guess I'll have to wait and see before I give my opinion on it.

At first the priest reminded me of Seymour a bit, with the long nails and all, but after playing XII again he reminds me of someone out of there.

I'm kinda disappointed with Vanille's summon not being Carbuncle, but who knows maybe Hecatoncheir will be a good summon to have. From the trailers, it looks somewhat powerful, what with the gatling guns.

I too wanted Carbuncle to be Vanille's summon- but it makes sense for Vanille to have a Transformer Eidolon as well. Carbuncle would have been too small to transform into anything you can ride on.

Vanille on Hecatoncheir really reminds me of Terra riding her Magitek.

I don't remember Terra showing off her booty, though :monster:

I guess it is more practical, and I'm glad they're incorporating new summons. I'm not all that disappointed, Hecatoncheir looks like a cool summon anyways.

I'm not that intrigued by Cid Raines, he seems similar to Noctis (versus XIII) though, and I honestly can't wait to see what sort of spaceship he has (if any), hopefully the craft the party uses in one of the 3-minute trailers isn't that (the one that I think belongs to the Sanctum). Priest dude is sort of similar to the antagonist from Final Fantasy X, and the other unnamed guy looks quite mad at Cid, though I think he'll remain loyal to the Sanctum than Cid apparently has.

The summon is quite nice, I like new ones - although I guess Carbuncle transforms into a disc that can deal high damage like Thousand Needles, or at least he'll be quite the powerful cute summon he is. Plus, Vanille is looking hot, I guess they saved her for last. :)

Wow, never realised vanille was sexy!

Cid looks so boring in this game, i was hoping the baby chocobo would be called cidx3

That's exactly what I thought when I saw that picture. They've gone for a similar pose I think, and I guess Hecatoncheir will have a similar function to the Magitek armour.

But yeah, Asabella I agree, Terra never lifted her ass like that. Holy crap! :O

And one of the smaller screenshots shows Hecatoncheir in his normal form a lot clearer than the image so many of you hated. I think it looks like it has more structure now... Loads of arms, yes, but you can now see legs and what looks like a head, so it is begining to take shape now! :monster:

Cid doesn't interest me much. I prefer the quirky professor / doctor / mechanic types. I know we don't know this warrior Cid's personality yet, but by image I can't see him fitting this.

Thanks for the scans.

I found this yesterday tbh but I did not post it for some reason. Ummmm The priest dude is Garens Daislair and he devotes all his power to peace on cocoon he is one of the highest representatives in the sanctum. Captain Rygdea who is the man talking to Cid is captain of one of Cids ships and Cid Raines is commander of a warship. It does not look like he has a gunblade though I think he has Lightnings in his hand. Also Nice ass Vanille etc etc. I already knew all this but just did not post it.

Does Cid's weapon remind anyone of Lightning's? Because it's wielded only by the best warriors... If so, he must be a pretty good bad guy.

Oh yeah- Cid seems to have a Blaze Edge weapon just like Lightning. He must be a rather capable warrior in the PSICOM army then, because the web novellisation explains how Lightning received her sword.

I wouldn't mind an enemy Cid who is a constant rival to your party or something. He should be a recurring enemy like FFVII's Turks.

I want Cid to be a party member again. =[
I hope he's a party member. Or a hidden character. Plsss have hidden characters, FFXIII. X___x

These summons are kind of reminiscent of FFVI, with riding on magical machines and whatnot. ^__^

I honestly would want the exact opposite. I think it would be cool if SE would make it so Cid was a character who would come into the party at certain parts of the story. Honestly I dont know how that would work but a guy can dream cant he? Anyway I really like the design of Cid in this game, he looks really cool. Great find .Swift!

Cid does have the same weapon as Lightning and It is given to really strong warriors but are you sure its not Lightnings blaze edge? It is possible that it can be but were not sure yet. Maybe its his own. So Cid is possibly a L'cie right? Does that mean he will have an eidolon? It would be cool to fight him and then he summons his eidolon. Back to Seymour in FFx here. Garens Daislir is one of the highest ranked sanctum officials. But he can probably be the highest of them all. I think it makes sense for a priest of some sort to lead the holy gonverment. I think Captain Rygdea will attack you along with Yaag in airships(just guessing though) But Jihl and Yaag command the whole psicom army. But maybe Garens is the head honcho and passes orders to Cid and Rygdea along with Yaag and Jihl? Im just really INTERESTED so Im just taking guesses xD. Jihl has a sniper and a cane. She has some badass weapons hehe. Yaa uses a saber. Ah I just cant wait till XIII comes out. ^_^

Haha, I guess I wasn't the only one noticing Vanille's tush xD

I didn't think about Terra and her Magitek Armour from FFVI right away, but I can definitely see that concept used now. Maybe FFXIII really is trying to grab a little of everything from past FF games?

And omg, the hawt black haired guy I arbitrarily decided to fawn over is this FF game's Cid?! Cid can actually be seen as a pretty boy?! :gasp:

Apparently so. ^^ This is by far the best Cid in the whole series in my opinion...just by the looks of him anyway. I hope his whole character will shine a bit more in this game at least.

I'm not that bothered with Vanille's summon tbh. I'm not very picky when it comes to summon creatures. I'm sure in time people will gradually adapt to the concept.

I'd gladly welcome back a Cid with more or less the same comical personality from IV. Nevertheless, I don't mind how this Cid looks. Probably the most handsome Cid thus far. But is it confirmed he's a villain? I'd rather have him be an ally, or perhaps, a playable character as well.

I was hoping there wasn't going to be a Cid, though it's always a certainty there will be one, it's become a trademark. The guy looks cool, the name "Rayne" is even pretty ace...but the name "Cid" sort of stands out like a sore thumb amongst all the other names :sad3:

Well maybe "Cid" is just the nickname? Like how there's "T.G. Cid" in Final Fantasy Tactics although his name is really Orlandu?

I hope so. Normally I wouldn't care if there was a Cid in it because it's a trademark pretty much. It's just the fact is seems so out of place compared to the other names in FFXIII :wacky:
