[RP] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra

Collecting a small amount of food Ricard walked back to his room with it bundled in his arms, closing the door behind him he walked over to the window to observe the calming rain. Before he could spot it someone swung in through the window, smashing the glass and leaping into his arms, making him drop his food.

Looking at his would-be ambusher he took a sigh "Oh great, it's you again"

Twin Sword had appeared to him again, obviously not taking heed of his warning. However, she had her arms wrapped around him by now, making it difficult to get her off him, even moreso in his weakened condition. Swinging his body around he managed to throw her off him eventually as he instinctively grabbed his Katana.

"What do you want now? I'm sure you know what it means if you get in the way"
before he could get a reply, Twin Sword took the initiative, cutting forward with one of her swords, Ricard barely able to dodge it. Right now he was in no condition to fight, especially in such a closed space, feeling his body continue to shiver Twin Sword struck again, the force knocking his Katana out of his hand and knocking him on his back.

Entering Gizamaluke's Grotto, Lucia found the place relatively empty, someone must have cleared it out recently. Walking through it she walked upon an unexpected site on the way out, an airship wreckage in the distance, the smoke had already passed so if there were survivors they were either eaten by monsters or escaped to Burmecia.

Walking through Lucia could pick up a strange feeling coming from Cleyra, as much as she wanted to check it out she needed to rest up first. Eventually reaching Burmecia she started to look for the Inn, being her first time here she was fairly lost in this city.

Annelise followed Lan into the pub, and from within the knight felt a bit uneasy when she entered the place. The pub seemed to be a seedy place, and someone of high stature in such a low-brow place was somewhat unappealing to her.

Nonetheless, she took a seat right next to Lan, who ordered the special, called the Soup de la Chocobo, she decided to just have a simple club sandwich, if there was one thing about pubs...never order the special.

After taking their orders, Lan had asked Anne something. "I hope no chocobo died in the making of this soup. I got a question to ask you. Did you at any point in your knighthood, get a chance to see Zidane?"

Anne immediately responded, "I have met with the King. I am also one of the only knights to have personally known him as well." Being the child of both Beatrix and Adalbert Steiner, Anne had known both the King and Queen personally, and even though she hadn't seen the King in months now, Anne and the Queen did usually speak to each other on an occasional basis.

((OOC: Short and sweet.))

Hey you know it's kinda rude to leave your Support behind..And why were you even around here anyway..

Kid, you'd be amazed at how little I care, Amarant thought to himself, continuing to walk deeper into the cave, looking for an exit.

Aaron:Since you've probably been around here for a bit I'm looking for a man named..Amarant,I heard he was around here...

Amarant shot the young man a sideways glance. "Amarant? Why would you go looking for that washed-up old has-been?"

"I have met with the King. I am also one of the only knights to have personally known him as well."

"Really? What were they like? How do you know them personally? I envy you somewhat. I would have liked to meet them." Lan asked excited as his tail started swinging back and forth from the information.

Soon enough the meal came. Lan looked at his special. While everything else about the soup was ordinary, the soup broth itself looked like a sickly purple. Lan was starting to have second thoughts about his meal.

"...This really looks like death by poison." Lan muttered as the soup complied by giving off an odd bubbling look. He opened his bag and pulled out an antidote. Peering into the bag, Lan saw that his supplies were running low.

"More things to get. How's your meal?" Lan asked as he opened the antidote and poured it into his soup before taking his first bite of the food.

Lucia

Walking through the dark Burmecian city, Lucia noticed a light over by a pub, walking in her casual side awoke as she took in the atmosphere, practically dashing to the bar and ordering a large drink. One of Lucia's biggest weaknesses was alcohol and she showed this whenever she entered a pub.

Upon paying for her drink she quickly began gulping it down at a choking speed, yet remained unphased as she ordered another. Starting work on her second drink she let out a mighty belch and stood up, turning around and spotting a young woman near her sat with a boy she approached their table, almost falling through the table as she placed her hand on it to lean on, looking into her eyes with some effort. "Hey cutiepie, wanna have some fu-" before she could finish she buckled, falling facefirst onto the table.

Amarant shot the young man a sideways glance. "Amarant? Why would you go looking for that washed-up old has-been?"

Aaron: Cause I'm looking to be a Knight for Alexandrea,Queen Garnet said I should search out for a Man called the Flaming Amarant,Duel him,and see if he think's I have what it takes...Truth is I'm doing this as a last request for a Friend I don't have anywhere else to go now so this would be a chance to do something good for Gaia..

Aaron's tone get's more serious as he talk's,walking through the various tunnels with this man looking for a exit and hoping the Antlion doesn't reappear..

"Really? What were they like? How do you know them personally? I envy you somewhat. I would have liked to meet them."

Annelise smiled over how excited the Genome boy was, he must have really idolized King Zidane to speak so highly of him. Shortly thereafter, their meal came, and while the sandwich actually seemed appetizing enough the look of the bubbling purple soup was enough for the Genome to mutter. "...This really looks like death by poison."

Annelise said as she moved to take bite out of the sandwich, and after listening to what Lan said about her food she said, "It's decent, not good as compared to the castle food back in Alexandria, but it's nice I suppose."

Anne turned towards another patron of the bar walking with a drunken stupor, who let out a very unladylike belch before slowly making her way towards her. "Hey cutiepie, wanna have some fu-" Before she finished her statement she collapsed onto the table.

Annelise remained speechless as she walked over to the woman, now passed out. "Hey, are you okay?" The Knight said as she tried to shake her awake. But it seems that she could not hold her liquor. Putting the woman's arm over her neck, she lifted the woman up and walked over to the bar, paying the bartender for the service for her and Lan. "Come on, let's head back to the inn."

Feeling herself get picked up, Lucia felt more light headed as the young woman carried her towards the inn. "H-hhhhhhhhey there, wait a moment... You're pretty hottttttt"

Half due to the alcohol, and half her own intent Lucia placed her free arm on the young woman's shoulder and pulled herself against the woman's armoured body, kissing her full on the lips "Ooh, tasty too..." Lucia then released her free hand and leaned back, pulling on the young woman.

Laying back on the floor at the mercy of Twin Sword, Ricard's Katana was out of reach as Twin Sword walked over before kneeling over his torso, legs on either side before poking him on the nose.

"What the heck happened to you? You weren't this weak earlier... Not that i'm complaining about this"

Twin Sword let out a childish giggle, pinning his weak arms down as she began edging her face closer to his before moving to his ear...

Not wanting to waste the food/poison that was made, Lan pulled out some gil for the bowl and brought it with him. Then Lan saw the drunk girl kiss Anne. Lan smiled as he decided to play on the situation.

"So Anne, I didn't know you swung that way. So when will the wedding be?" Lan joked looking at the drunk girl and Anne while waiting for a reaction from the two. Lan took a long gulp of the soup and found that it was actually tasty.

"This soup is not bad."

Robert Crescent

After a while, Robert decided he'd best get something to eat. There was still about an hour of day left. It was a bit humorous, he thought. Burmecia was the only place where the sun could shine brightly and it'd still be raining. Unlike the lesser renown taverns that his companions went to, Robert headed over to the Rising Phoenix Tavern, which was about a few blocks away.

He was a regular, mainly because his sister Farah worked there. They served foods from all over the world, and their head chef was a Qu. The food was a bit more on the pricey side, but it was the best in Burmecia. Robert took his usual seat off in the right corner, and within a minute, he was approached by a lovely Burmecian female with long golden hair in a ponytail and wearing a maid's outfit.

"Hello there little brother. Are you getting the usual, or are you actually going to try something different for a change?" the female teased as she held a serving tray hanging down in her right hand. Robert cracked a smile to his older sister's joke.

"Yes, I'll have the usual. It's too good to want anything else." he retorted with a smile. Farah simply shook her head. "You are one of the few people I know that eats that soup. Most people can't get past the smell." she commented.

"Well, if you want to blame anyone for it, blame General Steiner. He's the one that got me hooked on those gyshal pickles." Robert spoke. Farah soon left and returned several minutes later with a bowl of gyshal soup with seasoned beef and onion, along with a glass of cinnamon apple cider. Robert pulled out some coin and a tip, placing it on the table for his sister.

Farah sat down at the other side of the table and watched her brother eat the food she had brought him. "I thought you were going on a journey?" She asked. Robert looked back to her. "Well, I went to Alexandria, and that was when I heard about the attack on Cleyra. So I returned with Annelise and some others to help out. Once this next mission is done and the people of Cleyra are safe, I can resume my journey." Robert explained.

Farah chuckled lightly to her brother. "Oh? And here I thought you went to Alexandria to spend more time with Sarah..." she teased. Robert almost choked on his soup as he became rather flustered. "What are you talking about? She and I are friends!" Robert retorted.

Farah laughed a bit and shook her head. "Then why are you blushing so badly? She is only four years younger than you, and you always spent most of your time with her on the family visits to Alexandria." she joked a bit more before taking in a light sigh. "But, be safe, brother. I have a bad feeling this whole thing is just the beginning of something worse than an invasion." she muttered.

Robert reached over and placed his hand upon his sister's shoulder. "Don't worry. I won't let the tragedy that hit Burmecia and Cleyra happen a second time. Not as long as there is anything I can do to stop it." Farah smiled a bit in return to Robert's words. "You're so much like mother. Just don't be so blinded by the past that you forget about the here and now. And if you see Annelise, say hi for me. I won't be off of work until late tonight." she spoke before taking the pay with tip and leaving Robert to his meal.

Once Robert had finished, he headed out of the tavern and back towards the inn. He had to do a double-take as he saw some drunk female laying into Annelise, while Lan ragged on her. "Find a new friend?" he teased. "Oh, and Farah says hi." he added.

Alleria Stormseeker

Having been in the inn at the time, the sound of glass shattering was easily heard even in her room. With blade drawn, she dashed out of the room, nodding over to the inn keeper, motioning for the timid Burmercian to exit - which she did, all to eager. Alleria slowed her breathing, trying to listen out for the source of the noise.

Just then, there came sounds of metal clanging from Ricard's room.

Moving closer, she put her face on the door, trying to listen in.

"What the heck happened to you? You weren't this weak earlier... Not that i'm complaining about this"

'Sounds like trouble,' she thought to herself, kicking the door open.

"Now hold it right--"

Looking at how intimate the two appeared to be, she cut herself off. There was Ricard's katana lying rather haphazardly on the floor, but there was also the apparent 'enemy' behaving so intimately. 'Unless Ricard has a fetish for this sort of scene?' She wondered to herself, staring at the two with a disgusted expression.

Theme-Slew of Love Letters

"H-hhhhhhhhey there, wait a moment... You're pretty hottttttt"

Annelise initially payed no mind to the woman as she walked out into the rain, but what caught the knight off guard was that the woman grabbed her other shoulder and passionately kissed her on the lips. "Ooh, tasty too..."

"W-What?" Annelise stuttered, in shock of what just happened.

"So Anne, I didn't know you swung that way. So when will the wedding be?"

"H-Huh? I..." Anne's face started to turn red with embarrassment as Lan saw the event

"Find a new friend?"

Anne stiffly turned towards Robert who also saw "Wait, I just..." Anne's face turned a much deeper red. "Oh dear lord..."

"Oh, and Farah says hi."

Anne had nothing to say as she was still in shock...nonetheless she decided to take the woman to the inn anyway and continued walking, hoping to hide her embarrassment and their teasing in the rain.

At the inn, as she walked up the steps with the woman in tow, she heard noises of metal clanging and a body hitting the ground. Heading up the steps as fast as possible, she saw Alleria standing in front of something. Walking up closer she saw Ricard's sword haphazardly knocked away and a woman with two blades acting...intimately towards the knight.

"Now just what the heck is going on!"

Noticing the gradually growing audience at his room, Ricard with some degree of effort pushed Twin Sword off him before slowly pulling himself back to his feet.

"If you have a problem with this situation, you're better off asking her, I come in here to eat and she jumps through my window and attacks me"

Ricard began to readjust himself as he looked at Annelise "Why's your face so red anyway? And who's your friend?"

Lindblum Inn

Theme – Song of Love

“Dear Noah,

My, my how you've grown son. I remember it like it was just yesterday when your brother left for Daugerro and now here you are out in the world. You aren't the little ball of energy you used to be anymore, hitting your head on the floor in a tantrum till your forehead turned beet red. You've grown into a fine individual, capable of acting not only for the benefit of himself, but for the goodwill of others as well. Please, if you meet Vayne on your travels; tell him to come home.....tell him, I'm not mad anymore. I just want my boy to come home.

With love,

Alma”

The letter was filled with tiny blotches, presumably his mother's tears as she wrote. Vayne has been gone for a few years now, in order to avoid a life of pilfering the possessions of others to support his mom.

Noah's eyebrows furrowed a bit and pursed his lips into a solemn frown. The most painful kind.

Breaking the silence, a small creature bobbed up and down around Noah, fluttering his little purple wings as best as he could to stay afloat.

“Kupo! Is there anything else I can do for you Noah?”

Letting out a small sight to regain his composure, Noah gave the Moogle a soft smile and gently put him on the floor, he must have been exhausted trying to stay afloat for so long. He reached into his sack and pulled out two things. 2500 gil and a Kupo Nut.

“Here Moodon. Send the gil to Alma Bestrald, and the Kupo Nut is for you.”

Moodon's pom-pom bounced with feverish excitement at the sight of the Moogle delicacy.

“Kupo-po! Thanks Noah!”

“No problem, stay well Moodon.”

Noah waved goodbye to the Moogle but he was in a trance, focusing on the food he had just been given. He let his emotions betray him for a second and his face slowly crept into a wide, loving smile. He loved seeing someone happy.

Picking up his heavy rucksack, which contained spare items and his armor; Noah departed for Dragon's Gate in order to reach Burmecia.

Outside Dragon's Gate

Eunorus Plains

The crisp air of the Mist Continent felt tantalizingly fresh. The aroma of the sea, marsh, and plains evolved into a melange of sensations that appeased Noah. It was the sense of adventure.

However, there was a looming tension that hung silent, maliciously permeating the air with a sense of foreboding that was complimented by the less than welcome dark clouds that drifted overhead.

“The beasts must be active in this kind of weather. I sense not all is well. Haste must be made to Burmecia, lest I be of little aid to the rest of the soldiers...”

Before Noah could finish his sentence, he heard the rustling of the grass accompanied by a shrill roar. That of a Serpion. It was poised on all fours, waving its scaly tail around with anticipation for the kill. The monsters eyes were fixated on nothing but visceral rage, and it had the claws and teeth to match.

“Hm, if it's a challenge you want lesser wrym; than I'd be glad to rend your hide asunder!”

Dropping his rucksack on the ground next to him, Noah unsheathed only his short-sword from its scabbard, planning to show the beast he is more than a match for it.

Dragons are known for their voracious tenacity, and this one was no different, letting out one more roar before lunging at Noah with unbridled rage. Unfortunately for the beast, Noah was not wearing heavy plate mail and his natural agility was left unhindered. Gracefully evading the maneuver, he had found an opening. Gripping his blade tightly, he takes a swipe at the beast's backside. The Serpion releases a violent screech as skin is torn from it's flesh, revealing thick, murky blood with stained bone.

“Your time is almost at an end.”

"If you have a problem with this situation, you're better off asking her, I come in here to eat and she jumps through my window and attacks me"

Annelise looked at the Twinsword, who still had both blades drawn out. The General said to the two conscious women, and the one seemingly slipping in and out. "Well looks like that's all the time we have for today." The Oilvert General sheathed her swords and began walking down in Anne's and Alleria's direction. walking pass the whole group she said, "If you're looking for Sammy, he's in his residence, the rebuilt High Priest's temple. If you wanna get up the tree, the Trunk Path doesn't have many of our soldiers, so you'd be able to sneak through if you manage to get past the troops in the outer city around the tree."

Turning around she waved to Ricard saying in happy yet intimate tone "Bye, Ricard..." With that the Twinsword callously walked out the front door, her mission, and maybe more complete.

----

Annelise said to Ricard in a confused matter, still a bit red in the face from embarassment, "Who was she?"

"Why's your face so red anyway? And who's your friend?"

Anne got a bit nervous. She looked away for a moment and said, "P-Please don't change the subject..."

Ignoring Twin Sword as she left, Ricard walked over to his bed, sitting down so he could recover.

"She's a friend of mine, or should I say... Ex-Friend. We were partners back when I was in training, why she's appeared again now is anyone's guess. Now i've answered your question, who is your friend then? She certainly seems to like you"

Alleria Stormseeker

Alleria really didn't know how to react to this. Here, an unknown woman is found in a room with a Knight in a... somewhat 'intimate' situation. So 'intimate' that she could adopt such a sultry tone when leaving; Alleria really didn't know how to react to this.

"Who was she?"

"Why's your face so red anyway? And who's your friend?"

"P-Please don't change the subject..."

"Yes. I think we deserve an explanation for what we saw."

After following Anne and hearing everything, a few questions started forming themselves. But he put them aside for the time being. With the more interesting conversation starting up, Lan decided to spare Anne some embarrassment on her part.

"The drunk here is no one that Anne knows. She is just helping her get to her room." Lan muttered hopefully drawing some of the attention away from said red faced girl as Lan finished up his soup.

Ricard turned his attention to Lan, then to the drunk woman "I see, well I imagine you'd want to give her a place to rest rather than waste time with who she was, if you're that interested i'm sure there's other times to discuss it"

Ricard looked over to the smashed window before returning to the group "I suppose for tonight i'll have to find a new room, any suggestions? I assume Annelise's would be crowded enough by this point"

Robert Crescent

Things were getting weirder by the moment, but they wouldn't have much time before the troops were to gather. The woman who had her blades out gave some information about Cleyra, referring to the occupying troops as being affiliated with her. It was either a trap or useful information. Still though, the tunnel led into the trunk anyways, so one way or another, they were going through the trunk to help escort the citizens out.

"Any room is fine for the moment. You can place her in my room if you need to. We're going to want to finish things up here soon. The sun has already set, and the travel will take a few good hours. Those coming, we will be assembling at the gates and joining my mother's company." Robert explained in a calm manner.

Freya Crescent
Sir Fratley

Inside Burmecia, just before the gates, Freya rode astride a black-armored chocobo. Behind her a large military force had assembled, all dressed in black armor and robes, the soldiers carrying a variety of weapons. Behind them were several black-painted carriages pulled by black-armored chocobos.

Fratley walked up to Freya and offered her a smile. "It's getting close to that time. I wish I could join you, but the king wants me here manning the defenses." he spoke to her.

Freya smiled as she looked down at her husband. "I'm sure we'll have time for our own adventures once this is done. After all, our children are all grown up now. And I'm looking forward to seeing how Robert handles his first official mission, as well as the friends he has made." she replied. "With any luck, we should get a response from either Garnet or Eiko and Cid regarding what we've learned about Oielvert's forces."

Fratley gave a nod to her reply. "Well, I'll be awaiting your return. Come back safe." he spoke to her. Freya chuckled a bit at the irony of his statement. Last time, she was the one who begged him repeatedly to promise that he would return. Even though he wasn't begging, it seemed a bit strange that things had flipped over the way they did.

Freya then looked over to the forces at her command. "Listen up! The lives of thousands depend on this mission's success. By the time we arrive, the people should be all ready to leave. Be sure to silence any patrolling guards. Go to the doors of each house and knock once, then escort the civilians to the trunk. Those remaining at the trunk will lead the civilians through the tunnel and out to the waiting carriages to return to Burmecia. When we are finished, we will head back to Burmecia on foot. As you proceed through the city, remain to the rooftops and the alleyways. This is a stealth operation. Everyone will act with their battle-buddy, so no one fights alone. In the event that the alarm is raised, lure your opponents into the narrow alleyways to efficiently funnel them down into manageable battles. Also, those on the rooftops will provide aerial support with dragon skills from the dragon knights, and arrows from the archers. Draw enemy units away from the civilians. Once the signal is given, pull back. Our mission is to rescue the civilians, not take Cleyra back. We will take Cleyra back once the opportunity presents itself. For now, the lives of the citizens takes priority. Once Sir Robert's team arrives, we will move out." Freya spoke as she addressed her troops.

Soon afterwards, the soldiers would load up into the carriages, with ten soldiers assigned to walk beside each one in case of an enemy ambush. The carriages themselves could fit another ten each. One would be empty, reserved for Robert and whoever chose of the group to follow him on the mission to rescue Samuel.
