Multiple Platforms Red Dead Redemption

What I do is, when you set a way point I just head to a town and go to one of those transport things and select the travel to waypoint option and bam... I'm there. :monster:

Free roam is pretty epic. I remember trying to blow you up with dynamite... but I forgot to throw it. :rage:

Also, if you're online, don't forget to sign up for the social club. It's in the main menu. If you do, you get the gentlemen's attire for playing high stakes poker and you can some extra goodies by doing exclusive challenges etc.

...:gasp: Okay, now imagine I'm the noob, (which I am) explain that last part again to a dumb person. O.O

Social club????? O.O Extra goodies?!

Yup. Go into multiplayer and press start. One of the options says social club. Click it and it's pretty self explanatory from there. Make a username, enter an email and you're done pretty much.

Then when you go on your computer, confirm your email and you can go on the website and it can track your progress in the game, give you multiplayer news and exclusive challenges. For example the one up now is this:

SOLOMON'S FOLLY
The Solomon's Folly Challenge is available to all PS3 owning members of Social Club . This Challenge occurs at a small gang hideout South of Benedict Point. A local sheriff has tracked a bank robbing gang there and needs your help retrieving the safe they stole. Safe cracking skills and precision with a gun are requirements for this Challenge.

OBJECTIVES
Crack the safe on the first try
Get 3 headshots while driving the wagon
Fire 15 shots at most

And the reward:

"Every Shot Counts" Cheat
A double edged sword, player can kill enemies with a single shot and also be killed by a single shot from any enemy.

I'm definitely gonna try that out then. :hmmm: Wonder if it's difficult for the retard I am. :lew: Sounds simple.

I didn't know about this though. :D

I always wondered what it was for, I signed up before I even first played the game, but that was for the stats if anything. I noticed the challenges too, I didn't have a clue they brought rewards though. :wacky:

So I watched some videos last night on this. Gang shootout looks really bad. Niot my type at all. But regular deathmatch looks fun I guess. Btw how is the character system like? Can you take anybody from the story on online MP?

I don't think the structured game types for multiplayer are as fun. I only managed to play one, and it was with only three of us. It was ok, but nothing great. Free roam is where the fun comes into it. Perhaps with a full team then the structured multiplayer matches would be a lot more fun, but I'm not so sure. I'd rather go wild on free roam will a full posse.

As for characters I'm not sure yet as I have only unlocked a few. So far I can only play as random guys which are given names, but perhaps you will eventually unlock some of the proper characters.

That's what I like.

The story mode has me entertained quite a bit, and aside from that the free roam addition is absolutely great. I love riding out and just killing stuff, and there's challenges, so it's not just pointless riding. :D

=/ I felt horrible seeing it. I never used the sickly horse. :gonk: Called it, saw it, then shot it in the head to put it out of it's misery. :sad2: Tackled Jeff off his horse, then he whistled for a new one. :gasp: And I set my default back to the mule for the time that I had the sickly horse.

:ryan:

OMG I know! I leveled up while i was playing and called for my mule but, it was that sick horse and i was like :gasp: poor thing =(

So, yeah for the time being im stuck with El Senor which isnt a bad thing :ryan:

If I could, I'd use the mule all of the time. Sadly that would mean that I'd miss every mission my posse decides to do. By the time you get anywhere on your mule everyone else will have killed everyone. That said I often find myself rushing to try and catch up with people even on the horse, but it isn't as bad. I need to get used to using the train as I think that might be why people get there faster than I do.

I invited you a while before you made this post. I've decided that I'm just going to invite everyone I see, since it doesn't spam your PSN messages. You can't ever see who is playing free roam, who is on singleplayer, or if people are in a free roam with other people you know. It sucks really. Therefore if I don't get an invite while I'm playing I'll just send one to everyone that is playing RDR, and then if they want to play free roam then the option is now there for them to join me. If they are currently in a free roam already, then hopefully the fact that I invited them might make them think "oh I'll invite him to ours". If that doesn't work then I'll cry. :sad2: It just seems better than having to send hundreds of messages to people on PSN just asking them if they are ok to play free roam.

So basically... Check your invites often!

I know the mule is very adorable that being said, he's slow -__- which is okay but like you said, you get nothing done.
You did invite me? I guess i do need to check more often then 'cause i had no idea that you did. But thanks Dan anyways =) I hope to play with ya soon ^^

Well I beat the game about 2 hours ago now. The ending is absolutely immense... including the extra bits. I didn't realise I was attached to the characters until the ending, for most of the game I didn't really bother all that much.

Now I just need to get 100% and those bloody trophies. :rage:

Well, I've been playing Story mode for a while. Just got on multiplayer again and I was playing with a friend of mine, Jeff, and Nick. xD We just messed around and I spend most my time catching up. -.- But oh well.

Gonna continue story mode tomorrow however though, bedtime now. Work tomorrow. -.-

WHAT!??!?! :ryan:

Just a heads up, if ya'll see me on send me a message, I'll always respond. I'm enjoying the heck out of single player right now, currently just lassoed myself a pretty fast steed. :monocle: Now missions are so fast, but one mechanic of the game I've spent hours at is Poker at the Armadillo saloon ... I'm such a sucker for Texas Hold'em.

I don't think so. For the most part, you can only play as the NPC's that you see through the single player, but no major characters. However, there is a section called Legendary Characters, so maybe there will be a few of them there? :gasp: I think someone has to reach 50 before seeing them, however.

Ok cool thanks Jeff. And you gotta reach evel 50? About how long does it take to level up On Red dead Redemption? Also im surely gonna get this after school. I have made up my mind. But first Nier and ROF :gasp:

I've heard that the level up system is a bit like Call of Duty where you have to 'prestige' and start from level 1 again. That's how you unlock some of the legendary characters and the mounts later on. That's what I've heard at least.

I'm not sure I'll be arsed TBH. It takes quite a while just to level up once now. Imagine how long it'll take to level up from 49 to 50.

Okay, so I am stressed out. I don't know if any one else has encountered this problem.

Story mode.

You get various task from random strangers, then there's one with flowers for the old dude. I completed it. (I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but just in case).

After I did, I set up a save camp, saved, and started playing along, but now the horse, and the character itself keeps glitching, same glitch, not the same spots, but after a bit of walking. I can't even get out of the forest area part, onto the normal roads, before it glitches. It makes the horse slide over the ground, legs all on the ground, and sink lower each time, just up till where Marston is visible, I can't move. I can aim however, but I can't shoot anything.

I have tried last night, tried unplugging the Ps3, and looking for system updates, synchronized the ID card, checked the TV cables, let it rest a night, maybe it would fix itself, tried again just now two times, and it does the exact same goddamn thing. -_-

So I'm just really annoyed seeing as to where I am in the story line, if this stupid glitch is gonna make me start all over. =/

The disc has no scratches at all. So I'm just lost as to what this is.

I read things about invisible horses, but I mean, I can't even move.

---

Edit.

Well I took a different route, that was almost impossible -__- and it appears to be okay for now... I was about to slam the damn thing. =(

A glitch happened to me before as well :hmmm: It seems as though i'm not the only one. Mine was different from yours but, it 'caused me to have to restarted the mission =(

I think it's when you meet up with Seth? And you have to go down into the caves/mines etc etc to get the shotgun. Well, after I killed everyone I went inside the mine and I hid because there was people coming. I killed him but after that, I couldn't move. I tried jumping and I would just slide back to where I was hiding.

'Tis was quite annyoing.

But, other then that, I have no problems.

The game in general is quite glitchy. Once the ground engulfed a horse, with the rider trapped on the horse and getting angry. I shot both the horse and the rider and then the earth spat them out again.

I also had a glitch on free roam. I think I shot Nick for a laugh and it confused his horse. His horse tried to get through a gate but failed. All of a sudden it zoomed into the distance, without moving its legs, and then zoomed back to my location. It kept zooming everywhere, all over the place, and in different directions for ages.

It's a shame that there are so many glitches. :sad2:

Also.. Thought I'd say this here... How many of you free roam, and how often do you do it? So far the maximum number of people I have played with is about four people. Does anyone want to get together for a larger free roam game with a full posse? Or maybe a full free roam game, and have two of them and have a posse war?!

On days when I don't work, at least 2-3 hours of free roam. :hmmm: I usually force someone into playing me or something. Days when I do work...I may not be on at all, but I usually try to squeeze SOME gaming time in. :gasp: I'm definitely up for something like this.

It depends on what it is you do. If you purely play free roam, then it might take a while when you reach 30+ unless you keep replaying the same gang hideout over and over. In PVP, I'd wager it takes roughly a solid 25 hours of play if you call yourself decent.

It's really weird but I haven't had any trouble with glitches so far. Not even on online play. It's understandable seeing as it's such a massive game, there's something that is likely to go wrong.

I beat the game and I'm just trying to get 100% on the main game so really, if anyone invites I'm pretty sure I'll be available to join.

That posse on posse war sounds immense. :ryan:

Also... Pockets, how are you so good at aiming? :rage: My auto aim doesn't seem to work against posse members.

Had a fun time shooting Pockets yesterday

Mmm, Dynamites :ryan:

Anyways, here's my PSN for all you PS3 players - Loud_Noizes

Hit me up with a msg if you wanna play or somethin.
