Multiple Platforms Red Dead Redemption

I've played a few online matches, but standard deathmatches and FFA are actually closed in. The open map game is actually Free Roam where you're free to do whatever you please. While killing each other isn't NEEDED...it's very possible to start your own shootouts where ever you want, and still earn EXP.

That being said, though. You still get more EXP for working together in Free Roam, and more from playing the boxed in matches because they offer bonus exp for little things.

Have any of you played each other yet? :hmmm:

I watch a quick online gameplay clip on the IGN video review. There seems to be like an open map game where you can go anywhere...what is all this about? D:

Well, Pocket's pretty much explained what your talking about Ryan. It's called free roam. Of course he already took care of that for you :ryan:

I have yet to play with anyone online though =( yesterday it kept logging me off every 5 seconds and tonight I tried again and it wouldn't lemme login the psn so, I just played story mode xD.

Well I am getting it tomorrow it looks like, so I guess I'll log on to the ps3 again, since my stupid xbox is in the shop.

Ah.. it's been a while.

Were your originally gunna get it for the xbox 360?

Well, I don't have the 360 but, your more then welcome to play online with me if you'd like =). Well, when ya get it anywho.

Nah my ps3 has been sitting there as a bluray player, and nah i think i'll give my xbox a rest. I'll play with you, though I'll suck ass, me thinks. Anyway I'll see ya'll on later.

haha keep thinking like that and you will for sure suck =P haha i kid.

I'm sure you can't be worse then me xD. I'm pretty horrible x] I think i'm only level 2? then again, haven't really had the chance to play online.

and okay Tyler, see ya when I see ya :monster:

Nice, let me guys know when you do play and I'll join ya'.

Anyone try fast traveling via train and stagecoach yet? Im more inclined to just horse around and admire the scenery (which Rockstar did an incredible job with :ohshit: ).

I just simply use my horse xD.
I haven't used the train. I'm sure it cost money and right now, I don't have money :rage:
When you can use a horse that's free :monster:

Regarding this, if you don't wanna use the stagecoach or horses and just want to travel quickly, hit Start, Map, then select a waypoint to where you want to go or near that location. After you've set it, exit out of the menu, then click Select. Go to Kit, then choose your Basic Campsite (or you can buy an Improved Campsite at the General Store). From here you have the option to do a few things: Save, Change Outfit, and Transport to a certain destination. Scroll down and click "Waypoint" so that it automatically takes you to the selected waypoint. (Or you can go to the nearest town that's pretty near where you want to go, either way).

I use the Improved Campsite a lot when doing those Wanted Posters missions. Before I enter the gang vicinity, I make sure to save just in case I mess up, then I can load the game instead of starting over and being transfered back into town empty-handed.

Anyway, that was just a tip.

Im skint, so this is a no-go for me at the moment. Does look like an amazing game and its nice to see a Western game :)

So far I'm having so much fun with the game. Especially with the lasso. I tried using it in the saloon and accidentally caught a prostitute. She's been on the back of my horse for 20 minutes now and I don't know what to do with her. :sad3:

Oh, my PSN ID is ERG-047 if anyone fancies some online. I finally leveled up enough to get rid of that bloody mule. :ahmed:

Pretty nifty :monster:

And yeah, that is a good idea save before doing the missions just in case something happens.
If i knew about this earlier... :sad3:
I met up with Jenny from the train at the beginning? I was suppose'ta give her medicine and I pressed the wrong button and pull my gun at her and she ran away. Then it said 'failed' I could've gone back and reloaded but, I didn't save for a while.. plus auto save as well >.> damn thing.

Put her on the railroad. /strokes curly mustache.

Thus far, I have the fourth horse. Which more or less looks exactly like the third horse, and I can say I'm pretty disapointed. Was hoping for a different looking one, but it DOES gives me time to practice my wagon driving skills! :awesome:

Anyways. I'm doing the racing against Bonnie, however-----------------

I read in the outfit thread, that you need to win the race, and I lost. (go figure) I flailed around on the horse, and horribly lost... :ffs:

Anyway... I continued playing, cause the outfits didn't caught my eye until just now.

So, my question is...

Is there anyway to re-race her, without restarting the WHOLE game?

I'm going to be upset if not.

-------------

NVM. Im an idiot. -__- Tis not the thing I need.

To answer the question anyway, yes you can re-do certain missions anytime you want. :) I didn't win the race, but I bet if I tried again I might just barely beat her. I've gotten better at e-horseback riding. xD

I think some more people should come on tonight >.>
Also I have that kill a rockstar trophy so if anyone wants it just give me a heads up since you only have to kill me to get it :)

I'm having dinner now while I watch Doctor Who which I taped. I'll be playing RDR free roam after that so if anyone else is then I'll join you.

It took me a while to figure out how to invite... It's not a very friendly system. Is there a way to view who is doing what? I'm not sure if it is a good idea to invite, request to be invited, whether people are already playing free roam and would love to play, or whether they are currently on singleplayer. It just doesn't seem to say anything. In fairness I didn't look for very long, so perhaps it is there somewhere.

Well I'll be on tonight. I may be playing single player but invite regardless. I've only played free roam with one other person I know and they kept shooting my horse. :sad3: So yeah... I fancy some wild west roaming tonight. :gasp:

Well, I was online earlier but, no one invited me so, I was just playing with random people xD.

I was doing free roam and I was just killing a guy there xD. He wasn't fighting back either O_O. I think I got a 25 kill streak? Just from him. then I got tired of killing him and left xD. I did 2 missions I guess and now im level 6? XD.

They consider a straving horse better then a mule? I mean, I know it's faster and everything but damn, that just looks baad xD much rather have a mule then a straving horse.

If I could, I'd use the mule all of the time. Sadly that would mean that I'd miss every mission my posse decides to do. By the time you get anywhere on your mule everyone else will have killed everyone. That said I often find myself rushing to try and catch up with people even on the horse, but it isn't as bad. I need to get used to using the train as I think that might be why people get there faster than I do.

I invited you a while before you made this post. I've decided that I'm just going to invite everyone I see, since it doesn't spam your PSN messages. You can't ever see who is playing free roam, who is on singleplayer, or if people are in a free roam with other people you know. It sucks really. Therefore if I don't get an invite while I'm playing I'll just send one to everyone that is playing RDR, and then if they want to play free roam then the option is now there for them to join me. If they are currently in a free roam already, then hopefully the fact that I invited them might make them think "oh I'll invite him to ours". If that doesn't work then I'll cry. :sad2: It just seems better than having to send hundreds of messages to people on PSN just asking them if they are ok to play free roam.

So basically... Check your invites often!

=/ I felt horrible seeing it. I never used the sickly horse. :gonk: Called it, saw it, then shot it in the head to put it out of it's misery. :sad2: Tackled Jeff off his horse, then he whistled for a new one. :gasp: And I set my default back to the mule for the time that I had the sickly horse.

:ryan:

I'm not getting on the free roam for a while.

I'm enjoying story mode (that I had abandoned for a long while) too much.

What I do is, when you set a way point I just head to a town and go to one of those transport things and select the travel to waypoint option and bam... I'm there. :monster:

Free roam is pretty epic. I remember trying to blow you up with dynamite... but I forgot to throw it. :rage:

Also, if you're online, don't forget to sign up for the social club. It's in the main menu. If you do, you get the gentlemen's attire for playing high stakes poker and you can some extra goodies by doing exclusive challenges etc.
