I think this anti-rape condom is, well, stupid. It would potentially anger the attacker, and if the woman was helpless enough to get stripped down, then she better be wearing some New Balances because the rapist is going to go ape shit.

If a woman wants to protect herself, have some pepper spray. That is actually a lot more effective because it blinds the attacker. Or better yet, buy a pistol.

Because, hey, no woman has ever falsely accused a man of rape or would ever use something like this for another reason besides preventing rape.

That and, like mentioned above there's hardly a guarrantee something like this won't be used far from it's intended use, perhaps as a form of 'revenge' or simple sadism etc.

Plus if your train of thought is really that bad that you think to yourself, "Oops! Almost left the house without my rape-condom in!" in the morning, then you've probably got pretty severe anxiety problems.

Again though, I'm not in any way condoning rape or saying it's even the slightest bit acceptable, just pointing out that this product is a really stupid idea.

People can find ways to misuse anything to the detriment of others. That's not an indictment of the product itself, just people. If misuse made something bad, the Internet is the most evilest thing ever invented.

Also, according to the FBI, fewer than 2 percent of reports of rapes are false, which is the same percentage for the false reporting of other crimes. In fact, anywhere from 50 to 90 percent of all rapes are estimated to be not reported to the police. So the number is probably half that, at best.

In the UK in 2007 there were 85,000 rapes according to a BBC survey. 230 per day. And only 800 persons were convicted of rape. Less than 1%. In South Africa, a woman has a greater probability of being raped than learning how to read.

If this product deters one rapist from committing the crime, then it is a great product.

I'd have to disagree there, from what I personally hear the numbers are starting to balance out between the genders, just that men don't report it as often, and aren't as often taken seriously when they do, sad thing about our society really. Also, could we say how useful the info is, considering the date of it's release being over 10 years ago?

Rape/mutilation awareness centers around female cases simply because it's the female sex that falls victim to that sort of crime the most.

Rape of women has been used as a weapon for centuries. On a large scale. Across all cultures. Female genital mutilation was (and in some places still is) used as a means of control.

Women don't report it often either. 60% of rape cases go unreported, according to estimates. On college campuses, the number shoots up to around 90%. Men are more in danger of being raped by men than they are by women.

Society doesn't pander to women. Society ignores and denigrates women. True, we shouldn't ignore men who are victims of rape, which certainly exist. But it is an overwhelmingly male-on-female crime.
 
And while you are at it.. Why not legalize death penalty everywhere or even torture as a means of crime punishments.. Why dont we start burning criminals in public again? Sounds cool, like put them in some kind of colisseum to fight for the amusement of everyone.

This is a dangerous product, just like guns. People can use it for all the wrong reasons! Besides do we really want to take a step back from a civilized society? Well I consider rape a despicable and terrible act but cmon why cant we raise awareness towards the reporting of rape instead of having a product at disposal of some crazy bitches trying to get a revenge on a guy by mutilating his dick for reasons such as a break up.. While you are at it why shouldnt we like capture murderers and have the family of the victims kill them!

EDIT: Besides wouldnt this encourage anal rape? Cant the rapist just stick a banana to remove the device or something like somebody previously said. I doubt an anal thing like this would be viable but even so .. Its a retarded idea with good intentions.. But its not a viable solution imo.

I have utterly no sympathy for a "man" who rapes a woman, tbh I think the barbs aren't punishment enough but hell he'll never get it off without Surgery and even then he'd be thrown into jail right after they patch his little guy up.

I always feel for the female victim in these cases because as mentioned before alot of Rapists get away with it due to various reasons ((Such as a woman fearing testifying against the rapist, The woman being to scarred by the incident to be any help in capturing said rapist, etc.))

I would see it get abused at some point but honestly I doubt many women are that evil to dupe some guy into doing it.

I'd have to disagree heavily with you there, considering how modern day feminism works I wouldn't be surprised to hear in future of this being used as a way to harm a man :hmmm: and assuming this happened wouldn't that lead to men not being able to go to the police because he'd be branded a rapist? All a woman would have to do is cry rape and what defense has he got in this instance?

Well I'll accept your point, I don't have any idea on how feminism is now, I would really hope it would never go that far but people would probably do it at some point :( and your points valid I would just hope it would be very few cases of that actually happening X.X
 
While I think that this is very good for women in Africa (like stated before) since there is such a high risk of rape, it would be a bit dangerous to have in America.

In a way, there's nothing wrong with this. It's the guy's fault for shoving his dick in there, and he gets punished for it. But, what if a wife uses it on her husband? If she got so angry at him or something that she decided to get it on with him after this is inserted?

I mean in a way she would get her justice and get some jail time, but what about that poor guy?

But then again, you could come up with many products that if used in the wrong way can be very deadly. But this just seems especially...dangerous.
 
If a Mental spastic wife got mad enough that she wanted to physically harm her husband, she'd find a way to do it, using this condom or not.

Again, nothing to do with self-defense. This product is not about mutilating penises. That's a by-product of outcome. This is about deterring rape.
