we all know why Tidus was Brought to Spira, because Jecht (his father) is now Sin, but i got to thinking and realized the game never explains why the Sin before Jecht Brought him to Spira, so i was just wondering.

What are your views on Sin's reasoning for bringing Jecht to Spira
 
That's a very good question. I can't think of any reason why they'd go out of their way to get Jecht if they didn't know about him. Maybe the fayth sent him to help Braska seeing him as one of the strongest people in Zanarkand? Or maybe Jecht accidently sent himself there.
 
Well, Sin does not really obey the laws of time and space, now does it. It could have been the Jecht sin, but also it could not have. If Sin can transport people though time, why not itself
 
That is actually a realyl good question a question I do not know the answer to :hmmm: It's hard to say who brought Jecht and the funny thing is both Tidus and Jecht were Blitzball players =P Nah, i'm sure the fayth had to know something of him. Not really sure tbh. The only thing i can think of is that Jecht had some special powers :hmmm:
 
I think because they are both dreams of the Fayth, they are able to get transported by Sin.

Notice how only Auron, Tidus and Jecht were able to be transported by Sin? What do they have in common?
they are all dead

I'd wager because he was a dream of the fayth that gave him the 'ability' or met a 'requirement' to be transported to Spira.

As for Sin of the time=Jecht Sin, i'd not say so, I would however say that Sin did this not by his own mind, instead this may have been to do with Yu Yevon.
 
This is what I think happened:
~The fayth grew tired of dreaming and decided action needed to be taken to defeat Yu Yevon.
~They knew that no one who was raised in Spira would defy the Yevon teachings and so decided to bring the strongest person from Dream Zanarkand. This person was Jecht.
~Jecht, like Tidus, was unaware as to why he had been brought to Spira.
~Jecht joined Braska on his pilgrimage.
~Jecht, unlike Tidus, did not fall in love with Braska and therefore lacked that extra motive to find an alternative way to defeat Sin. Because of this the cycle continued, Braska died and Jecht became Sin.
~10 years later Jecht begins to lose control of himself and the Braska calm ends.
~Realising now what his true purpose for being brought to Spira was, Jecht decides to use his powers as Sin to bring his son, Tidus, to Spira hoping that Tidus will do what Jecht did not.
~Tidus falls in love with Yuna and gets that extra motive to find another way to beat Sin and succeeds!

Basically, Jecht was brought to Spira by the fayth (just like how Tidus was returned in X-2) so that he could bring the Eternal Calm. He failed at this but then he, using the power of Sin, brought Tidus to Spira hoping that Tidus would do what Jecht could not.

I don't think that's how the story went. xD Wasn't Jecht swimming along the waters of the Dream Zanarkand, singing the Hymn of Fayth, which Sin happened to enjoy listening to and so he came in contact with Jecht by accident (only because he can enter the Dream Zanarkand since he was created by Yu Yevon), evidently making him 'real' (or whatever word you wanna use for it) and transported to Spira where he landed himself in prison. Auron and Braska then offers him to join the pilgrimage. I remember somewhere in the game it mentioned that people thought Jecht went 'missing' or something one day when he was swimming, etc.

with out more info on who became sin before jecht you cant know there motivation for being involved we dont even know if the sin before jecht was involved in the fayth's plan I get the feeling the Aeon fayth were the ones who brought Jecht to spira we know the reasons Jecht brought Tidus to spira.

The real Question is does every one here know why the Fayth started dreaming in the first place?????
 
Because they didn't want Zanarkand destroyed, and wanted to save it, even as a memory. Least that's what the Bevelle Fayth said I believe.

Also, it's easy to know who the 'current' sin was at the time by going through the timeline :hmmm: tbh it would have to be either Lord Zaon (unlikely) or whoever became sin before Braska and co.

Also, as Sin is essencially pyrefly spiritual armour for Yu Yevon, it's not impossible for him to enter dream Zanarkand, imo :hmmm:

Yes I believe you are right, Jecht went sailing or something and never returned. Tidus felt abandoned and later his mother died as well.
 
From what I know about the game Jecht decided to go out practicing for blitzball in the ocean. He apparently went too far out and Sin happened to be passing by.

Or it's also possible that somehow the fayth, knowing they wanted their dreaming to end, persuaded Jecht out that way because they knew Sin would likely unknowingly take him out of Dream Zanarkand.

The fayth probably wanted him to be able to find a way to stop Sin for good so they could rest, but he wasn't able to do it so they would later rely on Tidus to do it.

Or maybe they wanted Tidus to do it all along, but they needed Jecht to be in Spira to become the next Sin so he would take Tidus to Spira where he would want to fight his father, and end up freeing him and figure out a way to defeat Yu Yevon all at the same time.

So that leaves these options:

1. Jecht went to Spira by mistake. The fayth had no part in it but once they realized Jecht was in Spira they hoped he would stop Sin for good. But when he became Sin and had a plan with Auron (to watch over Tidus and then bring him to Spira to stop Sin for good) they decided to go with hoping that Tidus would be the dream to end their dreaming.

2. They had wanted Jecht to be able to figure out a way to end their dreaming. So they sent him out to sea by influencing him (we know they can do this because Tidus was influenced in the begining of the game by Bahamut. Remember when the kids wanted him to teach them how to blitz? Bahamut said "You can't tonight" and Tidus immediately responded that he couldn't tonight and would do it tomorrow. He never once questioned why he was listening to some random kid. We also see Bahamut in the background of a lot of Tidus' flashbacks).

3. They actually wanted/believed Tidus would be the man for the job but needed Jecht to become Sin so Tidus would fight him, free him, etc. But why Tidus? My theory is his connection to Shuyin, and how he is the dream version of him. They needed a version of Shuyin that was determined to save the summoner, etc. And more than likely the dreamed certain qualities into Tidus to make him likely to question the nature of Yevon and Sin and hopefully find the truth about Sin and be able to stop the spiral of death once and for all.

Personally I believe it's the third option. Since the moment they started dreaming Jecht the fayth had a plan to end their dreaming by creating Jecht and Tidus (along with their resentment and hatred towards the other) a certain way in hopes they would put an end to the dream.
 
One rather interesting interpretation of X that is rarely touched upon, but has been here, is that the whole plot is a complicated set of Xanatos Gambits:

The biggest one is perpetrated by the Fayth. They influence Jecht to get picked up by Sin. He will eventually become Sin, which lays the framework for Step 2.

Tidus is taken by Sin to Spira, where he meets Yuna. Yuna & her guardians would eventually choose to stop Sin once & for all. Because Sin is Jecht, it has some natural weaknesses: It's pacified by the hymn of the Fayth & the Final Aeon can hold itself back somewhat in battle against Tidus.

Because of this, when the party enters Sin, they are able to enact their plan to use the Fayth to weaken Sin, thus sending it & all of the souls inside of it, something that no summoner before had ever been able to do, because they had been creating a Final Aeon that was stronger than the previous Sin & thus impossible for them to beat.
 
I was actually thinking about this the other day. I think that the fayth have been trying to end the dreaming for so long that they have brought one of their creations, their dreams to Spira in a hope that he would end it.
 
Here's another thing, if Jecht and Tidus were dreams of the fayth. Why didn't the fayth just stop dreaming. Jecht would go away and Sin would be gone forever. Considering Sin is always the final summoning of another summoner.

I know the fayth did stop dreaming but the whole adventure of Tidus was not needed. But that would make for a very boring game.
 
Sin = Created by Yu Yevon and is a PHYSICAL ENTITY, so ending the dream of the fayth doesnt do anything to Sin even though Jecht's fayth/soul is used for Sin's body. However you have a good point , but maybe the current Sin would dissolve but Yu Yevon whose inside will still exist and take another lifeform eventually.


Fayth of Bahamut: A child-like Fayth who watched Tidus grow up in Zanarkand. Stationed at Bevelle Temple, he is the one who brought Tidus and Yuna together so the Fayth can end their dreaming.


Lady Yunalesca is the only one that is described by Final Fantasy X as having created the Fayth after her father converted all Zanarkand residents into Fayth 1,000 years ago.

The "Dream of the Fayth" are a different manifestation perform by the Fayth created from the surviving people of Zanarkand who allowed Yu Yevon to make them into Fayth. Therefore, since summoners existed long enough before the Bevelle-Zanarkand War to make Zanarkand their city, they possessed the knowledge to create Fayth.

The fayth did not bring Jecht to the real world, it was a coincidence/accident.(Sin did it)
Tidus was not sent to the real world with help of the fayth, it was becuz of Jecht's request and Auron's aid.
The ambassador of the fayth (Bahamut Fayth) DID watch Tidus grow up and probably realised Tidus and Yuna together could end their dream/suffering, but this is afterwards so it seems.


Conclusion - Option 1 or 2
