How do you deal with these types of people? Do you simply ignore them or do you try to prove them wrong everytime?

It varies for me, usually i try proving them wrong. I remember i was explaining to my grandmother that the things she says about me are not always true, she always has these stories where she tells others about me that i don't agree with because they aren't true. When it comes to proving her wrong she just won't admit it, we end up arguing for hours on end. Same with her husband, he acts the same way albeit different from her because he claims he knows everything.

As of late though, i just don't bother trying anymore. They're too damn stubborn, so i just ignore them and say whatever >_>

Not one person on this earth, knows everything. It is not possible, there is too much knowledge out there. Things are constantly changing when it comes to information about everything. Anyway, i think i said enough...too tired to rant more. <.>

I am a person who always thinks they're right and i can tell you its probably a waste of breath trying to tell someone who always thinks their right that they're wrong.
Even if you logically prove them wrong with evidence the 'I'm right you're wrong' person will just blindly shake their head and deny everything!
Making you super mad and frustrated in the process.

I am an 'always right' person :(

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do. A lot of people will try to portray themselves as being right even when they know they are wrong. If you know you're right and they aren't, chances are they know it to. And if they don't..... well f*ck em then right>! lol

Anyways, I try to prove my case. If it fails, I just move on to something else. Sometimes I have a knack for trying to hammer it into ppls heads when I absolutely know I'm right, but,, i try to steer away from that, especially if it only brings grief.

I always try to prove them wrong on any subject I know or if I notice something wrong with what they have said.

I know a person like that at school always trying to show that his right even on stupid things like the meaning of a word but a group of us were talking one day and something about numbers was mentioned and he started talking about statistics and that some guy proved if that if you had a group of people guess someones weight than the average of the answers would be the correct weight. I got pissed of that he brought this up in the first place so a started to completely rip what he said apart any way I could and a friend of mine joined in to help me at the end of it we had to quit cause we thought the boy was going to cry because he was wrong. We were actually waiting for the boy to come in the next day with with a couple of pages from the internet to prove his theory correct thats how bad he is when it comes to proving he is right.

I remember asking a him what time does class end because I thought it ended at 10:35 and he said no it ended at 10:45 so I said fair enough because I knew I was wrong. As it was coming to 10:45 he turns around and shows me his watch and says look told you it ended at 10:45 I looked at the watch and said it was only 10:40 to piss him off so he turned back around and sat there until 10:45. I was waiting for him to turn around at 10:45 cause I knew he was going to prove that he was right so as he turned around pointed to his watch and was just about to speak I shouted at him I DON'T FUCKING CARE ABOUT THE TIME so I just destroyed whatever pride he was going to get from telling me he was right.

When it come down to it I either make a fool out of them or I completely rip there logic apart. I know they aren't going to change but I won't give them the satisfaction of being right all the time as it's the same as someone looking down on you because of were you come from, what you drive, who your friends are things like that so it's just good to put people in there place once in a while to show they are not better than you for knowing stuff you don't.

I usually don't bother with those kind of people since I don't really like stubbornness. I think when you have a discussion or debate with someone you must be open to the fact that what the other person says might change your view and your position on the subject (and vice-versa), no matter how good you think your arguments are. This is the way I see it.

Depends on the situation. If it's something I know I'm right about, I'll argue it and prove my point. If it's something I'm wrong about, I'll stay quiet and let them "win".

Just because I argue with them doesn't mean they always listen, though. :hmmm:

It depends on the person, the topic and the situation. If I know my stuff, I won't back down. If it's someone who's a jackass and I'm doubting myself, I still won't back down. There are some people who just need a good verbal slap, whether they are right or wrong, because some can just be really really arrogant.

That said, if I know my stuff, I believe I'm always right. :monster: And my abbrasively sarcastic personality puts this off as more arrogance than I sometimes intend it to be. :sad3:

I'm always trying to prove people wrong. I don't like those who think they're "right" all the time because that's cockiness and arrogance to me.

For instance, I have a fourteen-year-old sister who thinks she's right about everything. She recently had a stupid argument with my dad and refuses to admit she was wrong. It just makes me facepalms a lot. They're thankfully on speaking terms, but it's just pathetic how far some people can take it.

I won't give up on proving people wrong. It's just a shame everyone doesn't share your view. xD

I typically do not befriend those kids of people and keep away from them. They are annoying to talk to and just unpleasant to be around. I also typically do not hang around know it alls who are sometimes even worse.

If they are family members, I choose my conversations carefully and try not to talk about anything controversal unless I agree with them.

If they shove it down my throat, I'll prove them wrong, that is, if they're wrong. If they're right, they're right. But if they're wrong and they keep trying to ram it into your skull, you gotta prove them wrong.

If you're both fighting to win the argument, you're both losers. If someone's clinging on to being right chances are they're bringing the mood down. Just let them think what they want to think.

^ that's true. But it's not good for someone to walk around thinking they're right about something if they're obviously wrong. It's bad for them. :hmmm:

Even when people tell me I'm wrong, when I know I'm right, I kinda just... don't care. Unless they call me a liar. Then I get offended and I'll have to show them I'm not a liar.

I hate it when people are like this. They just really make it easy to lose your temper just because of how stubborn they are. My father is well-known for being like this. Despite how wrong he is, and how much you prove him wrong, he will stick to beliefs and refuse to acknowledge that he is indeed wrong. I try not to let it get to me too much though since it would only cause an argument and thus lead to me saying something I may regret later.

I hate when people always have to be right. I don't have to always be right myself, however, if you are trying to be friends with someone like this wouldn't you hate always being WRONG? To me, there'd be little point to the friendship because any thought as to which way would be the right way (In problems of daily life and etc...) would be a waste of time, because you'd spill your heart out and there still wouldn't be any other way except their own. I personally consider myself more easy going but people who value their own opinion more than even giving me time to hear me out are just:gonk:

How the fuck have I not come up in this thread yet? I'm one of those people. Now, as much as I go around with my cocky ass attitude, I never try to shove something dow- Yes, yes I do. I won't lie.

However, I do hold my opinion higher than I do anyone elses. That's just the way I am. I don't think that FFXIII and FFVII are shit, I know they are. Oh, you don't agree? The fuck do I care? :hmph:

Now, when I've been proven wrong, on something like... For example 4+4=8, I'll still disagree, just to be an ass. Which is why I tell people to not take me seriously. I'm an ass, I just fucking enjoy it. Much better than everyone holding hands and eating cake all goddamned day.

Now, when a person like me meets another person just like me... Trust me, it never goes well. But I'll be damned if it isn't fun. :wacky:

But it's not good for someone to walk around thinking they're right about something if they're obviously wrong. It's bad for them. :hmmm:

I can agree with this if it's something that could potentially hurt them, you, or someone else. However, if it's just a difference of opinion on something abstract that no one is going to act on (or can act on), then I just get to the point where I give up and say "we're just not going to agree on this." I just had a huge scientific debate like this with the other half today, concerning the probability of alien contact, and we finally just got to the point where we had to respectfully disagree, because the material is not applicable to anything we're actually doing or under our control in any way. But yeah, if it's something like politics where a bunch of rich old Congresspeople are driving the world to destruction with their opinions, then yeah, they definitely need to be proven wrong :dave:

Obviously I go into arguments thinking I'm right, or else I wouldn't be arguing, but I get too stressed out by arguments to hold onto them for very long; if I process something for too long, I get to the point where I just don't care anymore. Eventually, you just have to step back and look at the bigger picture, and try to see whether it's even relevant to the entirety of your life or its purpose.

The problem with trying to prove those kinds of people wrong, is that, say for example, they believe the sky is purple. You can go as far as taking them out side to show them that the sky is infact blue, yet they will still believe that the sky is purple.

The best thing to do is to not even bother with them. You'll just be in for a long frusterating headache.

It's not really that we believe the sky is purple... we may have believed it to begin with which is why we say it but once you show us the sky is blue we will say the sky is purple just to be annoying/an ass/ not wrong.

Its not that we're 'stupid' its just that we're stubborn.

Oh my god, my mom is definitely one of those people. Whenever I correct her on a lot of things, she gets so mad at me. We nearly cussed each other out about Lulu's dress. :oy: But I don't encounter a lot of people like that in real life unless you count the majority of my relatives. If they're doing it just to be funny, I can feign back problems - but if they're actually serious into thinking that (even with the right answer given) they're always right, it can get on my nerves. Strangers particularly, because even though we don't know each other, they think they have the upper hand anyway. And then there's the snobs of the world that basically think everything they say or do is right - I don't bother with those. There's no way to get the message through their skulls .
