This is basically a sci-fi film about a young humanoid alien that has been chased for many years and finally decides to fight his pursuers. Here's the summary.

Nine infant aliens, who closely resemble humans, flee their home planet, Lorien, to hide on Earth. An invading species, the Mogadorians, have destroyed their planet, and follow them to Earth to hunt them down. Each of the nine aliens is given a guardian and will develop superhuman powers as they become adults. They are each assigned a number. These last children of Lorien can only be killed in the sequence of their numbers. Numbers One, Two, and Three have been killed so far.

Number Four (Alex Pettyfer), also named John Smith, moves to Paradise, Ohio, disguised as an American high school student. He makes a friend, Sarah Hart (Dianna Agron), a sweet Midwestern girl who is a photographer. After being on the run his whole life, Number Four falls in love and now has something to stand up and fight for.

I personally can't wait until this when it comes out February 18th and I'm going to be purchasing the novel as soon as possible. It's fine time that aliens become the next craze after being fed up of wizards, zombies and vampires for so long.

So who can I sue? Because other than them being from another planet, this is.. near dead on to my old RP I started and treated like my baby for years. :hmmm:

I saw it had Alex Pettyfer in and decided I really want to see it :ohoho:

That aside, looks like quite a good film :monster: I don't often go to the cinema because I don't find sitting still in those seats for a long time fun, but that's something I'd probably go see. I'll see when it comes out :lew:

:hmmm: I thought Alex Pettyfer was his alien name or something, I didn't realize that was the actor. :monster:

none the less, it does look intriguing.. but I'll end up screaming at the screen "OMG U STOL DAT FRUM MEEE"

Its odd I never heard about this movie..I love Sci-Fi as much as zombies..The movie world can never be enough fed up with ZOmbies tbh :P

Some things annoy me from these trailers:

Another love sequence....Twilight = Vampire + Human and even Werewolve + Human love relationship. This is ALIEN + Human love relationship.... meh....I dont like that kind of romance in my line of favorable movies tyvm.

If they made things more realistic an Alien would never resemblence a human at all (I think, ya never know) and NEVER fall for a human... why would they? well luckily they can explain it in this movie....the aliens resemblence humans..

Also when you see the woman walking away slowly with a massive explosion behind...:lew: thats been done so many times before...

Also that same woman kicks ass with flashy moves..(Blade Trinity, Iron Man 2)

Things I do think are interesting are -> What kind of powers they exactly have..
-> What Guardians.!! Im so curious..I couldnt tell from the trailers..
Those evil aliens! I want to know more about them

Because I would like to see them kick the main lead's ass for being a pretty boy..
But Im pretty sure this is a cliché movie and it ends with a good old ending..Happy ending..

I hope this movie has many plot twists...

Would DL it Torrent...No cinema.

Well, there's already a novel on this, which only came out in August. For those who don't want to be spoiled, you have been warned. These are actually John's powers that he'll display in both novel and film.

* Telekinesis - John has the ability to move things with his mind. At first, he can only move small things, such as paper clips or books, but as he develops his skill he can move heavier objects such as chairs and cars. He can also use this as an offensive gift, being able to split tree trunks and "push" people away. This is the only Legacy that is shared by all Garde.

* Lumen - Fire and heat resistance. John can withstand high heat and fire. Originally, it only occurs in the hands, but through special rituals is spread throughout the rest of his body. Internally, smoke and heat can still harm him. John can also produce light in the palms of his hands. It is more prominent in the dominant hand, in this case John's right hand.

* Animal Telepathy - John can communicate with animals, and vice versa. This is the first Legacy that actually appears, but is the last that he recognises in the book.

The first two are obviously displayed in the trailers, but I'd love to see the last one in action. A Lorien's (his alien race) powers are called Legacies.

Although am not into the whole romantic crap that the film will have I want to see some of the powers he uses and I really like Sci-Fi films so I want to see what the movie has to offer.

I don't like the way they are assigned numbers but it was a pretty good idea that they have to be killed off in sequence.

Same thing here..This trailer reminds me a bit of Twilight although it seems to be an more interesting movie. i usually love aliens movies and I like love stories (if they are interesting).

As for the resemblance of the aliens to the human race, maybe they used a close concept to what I saw in "The day the earth stood still" where the alien (Keanu Reeves) takes voluntary a human form by using a DNA sample of another human.

I don't know if I'm gonna watch this in theatre but I'll certainly rent it.

This looks pretty cool.

Wouldn't mind seeing it at the cinema due to the action sequences I've seen.

Not a real fan of the whole love thing though.

Why can't they ever just have action without a bloody love thing going on. Ruins it for me sometimes. =/

I hate how they say, 'he falls in love and now has something to stand up and fight for.'

Why couldn't he just fight for himself or the other 5 kids who came after him?

Well, and this is just speculation, it kinda looks like that he doesn't know and he's not in contact with the other five? So he can't really stand up for them if he doesn't know them/where they are... but you got a point, he could always stand up for himself.

But, I'm a sucker for love stories. :ryan:

I was thinking that myself,
apart from when Six teams up with him.

Anyway, new trailer. Extended look. Best trailer. Best quality. Lookie heeere.

I found this last night and was really blown away. Guess they save the best for last, eh? I'm actually really looking forward to this. As people have said, it might be looking a bit like Twilight. I couldn't care less, really.

It's goddamn time that sci-fi started taking over at the cinema. :mokken:

I finally went to go see this today and it lived up to my expectations. I really enjoyed it!

There was never a dull moment. There was so much tension between John and Sarah. Alex Pettyfer really pulled off his performance. Dianna Agron was great as Sarah, too, she seemed really different from when we usually see her as Quinn in Glee. I really do think it's a shame that Six is severely underused. She had some of the best lines and stole some of the scenes.

It really opens up a sequel at the end and I'm so glad that
Sam is joining them. Shame about Sarah not going, though!

Was a really enjoyable film. I'd highly recommend it for the combination of romance, action and comedy.

That's my feeling as well. The inclusion of romantic subplots has ruined tons of stories that would have otherwise been good. There's more to life than romance, after all, and it would be nice if Hollywood could grasp that. I would have seen this movie if it didn't have a young romance thing in the plot. Either that, or if they had at least made the couple a bit older--30s or 40s, something different for a change. Too many good action/scifi/fantasy movies have young romance that ruins it, but all the middle aged or older person romance stories are all boring dramas or romantic comedies -_- Why can't they mix it up sometimes?

On the other hand, once you actually see the film, you do begin to realise it's not that reason alone he decides to stay. The romance isn't really the biggest factor here either, I was surprised that it appeared to be a lot of it in the trailers and then there was a decent amount of it in the film.

But yeah, just to illustrate the point: there's a major reason other than her why he decides to stay and fight his pursuers. :wacky:

i saw the trailer for this last night, and to me it looked like nothing more than your average run-of-the-mill teeny bop film. i've read reviews of it comparing it heavily to twilight, which doesn't really make me think any higher of it.
