How often do you read the booklet?

I am too lazy too read and I don't see the point since all things I need to know are usually explained in the game.
I sometimes read it after playing the game, just if I am bored or I totally loved the game and kind of "totally love everything that connects to the game, even the booklet".
 
I always read the booklet whenever I buy a new game. I wouldn't know how to play the game if I didn't read it, plus I find it helpful.
 
I only ever read the booklet if I'm overly anticipated on the journey home to play the game.

By the time I got home after purchasing Burning Crusade I knew the ENTIRE PACKAGING by heart.

I'm clean now though.

At least they've stopped providing manuals with 1785720 different languages in.

100 page manual. 10 pages in English. In the English version of the game. Who would have thought.
 
Well i guess i got that old tradition of being a man and not reading the instruction or manual/booklet until i have finished with game, but i DO still read the booklet when i want to out of boredom
 
I don't normally read the booklet. Most well-developed games offer in-game tutorials, making the booklet useless. Character information, story background, item/move lists, and whatever else may be detailed within the booklet, will all come about as you play through the game.

If I do read the booklet, it's usually out of boredom after I've completed the game.
 
Usually if the game has a long loading time,i'd pop it out the case and read it. But apart from that i never read the booklets.

When i read them though i do A and C, of what you said.
 
The only time I ever bother reading the booklet is if some random error message pops up or if I happen to forget the controls. Other than that there's really no need to read the booklet that comes with the game.
 
I basically do it the same as the OP unless my GF is driving back from the store or whatever because the closest gamestop is like 1/2 hour away. I'm usually so excited about the game that I will read the booklet on the way back.
 
I'll flick through it before playing sometimes, but quite often I just go straight in. I prefer to learn as I play, it makes things more interesting. If I've bought the game whilst I'm out, the chance of me reading the instruction manual are considerably higher, because I have to get the train home. If I've had it delivered home, I rarely look at the manual.
 
The only parts of the booklet I read are about the characters and mainly just to look at the images.

I hate learning controls and what not.

I prefer to learn while I'm playing.

I'm more of a hands on person and I need to do it to get the hang of the game. If I try to remember certain buttons and what not I just forget them anyway. >.<
 
I never read the game booklet, i just pop the game in and play. If i get stuck i tend to figure it out on my own. I don't like getting help with games in any shape or form. I look at them for tips if they have any, if not i just don't bother.
 
Interesting to see that nobody starts with the manual before playing the game. I always check the manual first. Of course I skip the part where it tells you how to install your Playstation/other gaming gear and the health warnings, but I like to read about the characters, the background story and look at the pictures. I think it 's part of the whole gaming experience. On top of that, the booklet often provides some simple tips that can come in quite handy while playing for the first time.
 
Whenever I buy a new game I'm usually excited about my purchase, so I'll skim through the booklet and see the character profiles, short summary, etc. Other than that, not really. I don't look at the controls and whatnot because I like to learn on my own.
 
Usually when I buy a game I pretty much already know what it's about or better yet- what its should be like. I never like hardly ever read the booklet. I like to get the game started first then maybe i'll look through it. Don't see me doing it that often though.
 
With RPGs and games I been waitin' days for, I always read through it slowly so I don't miss anything.. Haha. but if its like Madden or FIFA, I just pop it in & go to work!
 
I read it as soon as I get the game then tear off the front and post it on my wall XD My room is covered in booklet covers.

The booklets usually contain an overview of the story, which gets me ready for it. I tend to read it every week until I know the game like the back of my hand
 
I only read the booklet when I'm in the bathroom.

I've never actually had to read the booklet to learn how to play the game. Every now and then I may get stuck and have to read the book to see if I didn't learn a control or something.

Other than that, they're used for light bathroom reading. :D
 
Rofl. Tbh, most of the time I never read it. :wacky:

I always put the disc in, get my commands buttons memorized, and play from there on. I remember that the only game booklet I actually adored was FF VII's, 'cause I was in my OMGOMGTIFA phase. :mokken:

I still love that character to death, but I got a grip 6 years later. :wacky:

Yeah, sometimes during a game I'll look through the booklet if I'm bored, but 8 out of 10 times I don't bother. xD
 
Never. The booklet's they make today for games, just suck so hard. It's not even funny.
