Anyone seen this anime yet? Basically it's a group of high school students teaming up to survive in a zombie-infested Japan. I'm only at Episode 6 (which was quite hilarious) and I like it so far, though the whole boobies-in-your-face gets annoying quickly. But it's hilarious at the same time, I can't help but chuckle. :ryan: Story-wise, I can already see the societal collapse and what the main characters must go through just to survive the horror.
 
Yes mitsu! Despite all the boobaliscious fanservice at random parts I love the anime! The beginning and the end of the anime are the best parts for me. The middle at episode 6 is where all the skimpy shtuff is at. lol I really like this series for some reason. It's pretty unique though and the zombies on this show freak me out more than live action movie zombies.

I have to agree that the zombies here do freak me out more than the live-action movies! I mean, a zombie who can twist his head around just to bite you? Holy snipes. My jaw dropped when I saw that. The details are so gruesome, but definitely interesting. I wish there were more zombie-related anime like this one...minus the boobs and underwear shots, of course. It's a little too overdone for me, though it never fails to crack me up.
 
Hmm, i don't mind the anime, i saw it a few months back and it seemed ok, the Zombie spatter was excellent, the survival aspect was pretty good but the whole "I only went out with him because i didn't think you liked me and you killed him so i hate you" bullshit was a turn off.

There's a manga of this series aswell that continues on, sucks ass how

, IMO he should be makin a move on one of the other women, like Saeko or Saya, I mean
Rei and Takashi were meant to be childhood friends or something
and the dumbass couldn't even figure out his personality untill it was too late.

the OP and ED themes were awesome. You can always count on action/horror manga to have excellent music.

The Intro and Ending are indeed awesome.
 
Yeah I agree that the fanservice stuff was too much at times. When a girl is being devoured by zombies the last thing I want to see are her panties o_O And the nurse desperately needs a breast reduction. I'm a male and at some parts it's not bad but if there were less boob in the anime it would be even more enjoyable.

I saw every episode months ago dude from above whos name escapes me >.<

By the way whose everyone's favorite character? Mine's Alice :x3: she's so adorable and brave.

Me for myself I thought it was a very good anime, I actually enjoyed every episode of it, though the fanservice got annoying real fast. Now what Masamune posted is what annoyed me the most, it was quite predictable that was what will happen, I did really want it to be TakashixSaeko, Rei is so thick I can't stand her. Saya well I encourage her relationship with the Military fanatic dude. =P
 
Agree, this show is awesome. I'm a fan of their fan services, not because I'm a perv or something, but some of them are funny ones like this:

Zombies there are freakishly cool unlike the other horror anime. Rei's my favorite among the characters. I like how her relationship with Takashi grows despite... aww, just watch the anime!
 
I finally saw this anime and I really liked it. The constant fanservice did get annoying and was a little distracting. The main girl Rei also got annoying because she seemed to need to be saved more than anyone. If they would have tossed her to the zombies they would have saved a lot of trouble :P I also thought the doctor character was a little too dumb.

I did like purple haired girl, can't remember her name. And I liked Hirano especially when he got a hold of a new gun. I even liked the pink haired girl who always seemed to be pissed off. Yeah I can't remember her name either. Overall good series but it could have toned down the fan service.
 
Can't believe I missed this =/, I watched it while back and Loved it sad that the 2nd season may not happen D: I even had a fan club made for this but no one really joined v.v;

I wanna find a english version of the manga but I've yet to find a copy yet v.v

so I'm stuck watching the anime for now
 
I can't stand the anime series, but I love the manga (since the fanservice is less noticable) although the last time I checked the manga was in indefinate hiatus (AGAIN)

^Yep but there's an anime called Triage X thats made by the same people thats suppose cover the gap while HOTD is on hiatus.
 
Everyone I know online and in real life has been going on and on about this anime, and If this thread has already been made numerous times, please close it immediately.

I'm very much into anime and manga, I recently finished reading and watching Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, though that's off topic.

I just want to know, if any of you have seen High School of the Dead, and if so, is it any good?
 
I haven't seen it yet, but it is in my list.
I have watched some trailers though and I guess I am a bit sceptic on the whole story. In my opinion zombies are currently a bit overrated.
Try to check some trailers to satisfy your curiosity.
 
I enjoyed this series but there was one thing for me that kept it from being great. The show if full of fanservice. Panty shots every five seconds, girls bathing together for no reason, matrix boobs. Not that this is all a bad thing but it really detracts from the mood. Some scenes I think were meant to be scary but suddenly you see a ridiculous panty shot and start laughing. In another scene, a girl is being eaten and her skirt is up. The show would have been much better if the fan service was toned down. But otherwise, it is a lot of fun to watch.
 
I'm one of those girls who loves the highschool of the dead, and I do not think it's weird ..
There is no law that girls can not even watch it ^
Also, I want Season 2 >.<
 
I seriously hated this anime.

I started watching because I enjoy zombie scenarios and to see people struggling to survive in a post apocalyptic world is usually very intense, but not this one. It's overly filled with ecchi stuff which it's pretty annoying.

I'll write some spoilers in black below so highlight it if you don't mind.
Not a single character dies in this. None. They try to make you believe that some girls parents die but as you don't get to see it on screen you know they make it out. Of course people die, but it's just people running around in the backround basically. I mean are you serious? Not a single character dying in a show that's about people trying to survive? What's the point of even watching when I can tell right away, this show is going to be about characters trying to survive, and they all will. There, done.
I know there is a manga and there might be more to it or stuff happening later on, but that is not really an excuse as this anime is supposed to stand on it's own.
 
That's peachy and all bro, but the manga has been in Hiatus since 2011. :'[ the author(s) just stopped at chapter 30 and as far as I can dig up anything, nothing new beyond 31 has come up at all.
