I hope im putting this in the right forum.

The Media Giant NBC offically announced on May 14th that the popular monday night show Heroes is cancelled. There are rumors however of a possible movie going around. The fourth season left fans with a cliffhanger that is too great not to continue. Hmm but will they make a movie.

Thoughts on the matter?

They can't end it now, especially after the end of the last season.

It has gone down hill though, surely there is room to finish it mind.

I think the show's had its fair run. It's had its good and bad bits, but I couldn't have seen it going elsewhere myself. The storylines became worse as they went along. I've only watched from the first season to the third. I've missed all the new season, but I'm apathetic about it now. I'm not surprised it's got cancelled with the falling ratings.

I've only seen the whole of season one and I'm dying to finally watch the second season.

Not sure how I'll feel when I get to the end of season four though, so I can't really say whether it's worth continuing or not.

I hope it doesn't end with a cliffhanger like My Name as Earl did though. >.<

Wow! Weird. Never thought I'd see this one canceled.

Me too, Ive seen season 1till 3th, season 3 I got downloaded on my HDD (Hookable on TV) I loved heroes but after season 3 somehow I stopped watching, also they have never shown season 4 here except on channell BBC, but that is like 1 am in the morning (night) , I cant be bothered watching it then. :P Downloading season 4 I might do but it takes too much time.

Gah wtf I love this show and now they wont continue it? well it only had 4 seasons. I really liked this show. The powers were cool but hey if there making a movie I wanna see it.

I can't believe it's been cancelled, it's one of the only shows on TV I like enough to watch regularly. I have 1-3 on DVD and series 4 was also excellent, I can't believe they've pulled the plug on it. And they ran Lost (which IMO is nowhere near as good) for so long, as well -__-

It was shown first on BBC3 on Sundays at 10pm, then the episode was repeated on BBC2 on either Friday or Saturday at a later time. There was also iplayer. :P

I enjoyed the first to seasons. I found that the first and second half of season 3 both started off really well. But the end of the first half of season 3 was anti-climactic in my opinion
they were able to get rid of Arthur Petrelli far too easily.
and that was the start of the shows decline. The second half of season 3 was a lot better, but it had a lot of weak points in the middle of the it. The Fourth season started out ok but it got progressively shittier and the ending was tremendously anti-climactic for me.

In other words it started out as a great show but got progressively worse. It occasionally had a brief revival in awesomeness but it could never hold onto it for longer than a few episodes and it finished on a bad note.

They softened up Sylar way too much and the attempt to avoid Peter's blowing up problem by taking his power, then him getting that "only hold onto one at a time" thing were the biggest problems for me. I loved the whole Sylar/Nathan thing in season 4 though.

Awww that sucks big time. I've watched some of the spisodes and they were fantastic :awesome:
Though like some have said, it did start to gradually decline for me as well. Though, i've enjoyed it, i'm actually quite surprised. I thought Heroes was a popular show.

A movie huh?

:hmmm: interesting.

About time. In my opinion they never really managed to follow up season 1 with anything worthwhile. Season 2 wasn't horrible, but it just seemed like a bit of a pointless restart, washing away a lot of the things that had been resolved at the end of the first season. Season 3 was just shite and so was season 4.

I agree that it's been steadily decreasing in terms of entertainment, however, I'm still sad to see it go because it was still entertaining to watch, even if the first series was, by far, the best.
As I said, I prefer this to Lost and think it's a shame that Lost go so many series' whereas the plug has already been pulled on this :hmmm:

Lost is something completely different though, in that the storyline was relying on all seasons airing. If they had stopped it in Season 3 then the story would have been incomplete. Lost needs to go on for the full 6 seasons (which it is) so that we get most of the answers we seek from it. Lost isn't going to continue past 6 seasons because that will be the end of the story, they say.

With Heroes each volume was essentially its own storyline. Some parts of the plot transferred from from volume to the other, and some of the later volumes refer to earlier ones, but most of the volumes can stand alone. It's easier to pull the plug on a show like this.

That said, if the ratings for Lost were so low that they had to pull the plug on Lost I'm sure they'd HAVE to, but it would be unfortunate and incomplete. Luckily that hasn't happened, as millions of people are looking forward to finding out more about what was going on.

As for my views on Heroes being cancelled in general... It's sort of a shame. It was never my favourite TV series but I would always watch it.

Some volumes were better than others. The latest one was one of the better ones, in my opinion, as the volumes before it had been a bit of a car crash. With some volumes they just tried to shove too much into it, and people changed stance and their entire personalities every week, and we could never really see those changes happening.

(Yeah... I copied and pasted that last paragraph from the other thread because I realised I typed that in a spam thread and can't be bothered to type it all up again and word it slightly differently).

I don't get what a movie would do in terms for the series itself. If I had to go with the poor writing of the new series, then it would be terrible.

Well I heard as soon as it got cancelled that it'll start season 5, BUT when it normally takes an hiatus in the US around Christmas... then POOF that's it... No more Heroes... Which means, we'll get part of season 5 to start the new storyline, and BAM right in the middle it'll end without a finale of any kind just an end of a normal episode
