Do you have any guilty pleasures that you're happy to share?

I don't mean anything creepy... please don't post your creepy guilty pleasures here, no one wants that. I mean like, anything you're usually a little too embarrassed to tell people but you really love doing/listening to/whatever.

Explain why it is your guilty pleasure and why you do it.

Post now.

Watching some anime would probably be the biggest one I guess, I do not tell people because I want a woman to touch my genitals

I enjoy pictures of cute animals, like kittens, pandas, and rabbits

I will think of more

I feel somewhat embarrassed about liking Desperate Housewives and One Tree Hill. :lew: I used to think these shows were a little too girly, but Desperate Housewives is actually rather clever and often hilarious, whilst One Tree Hill (the earlier series, at least) is very well-acted and has a more-than-just-decent story-line. :) (You can see my guilt shining through in those less than shining reviews as I try to water what I say down!)

I USED to be ashamed about liking Disney movies, but when I ended up hiding who I was and denying myself these movies to please someone who wasn't very nice, I learnt to be myself.

There are still awkward moments when I find out that people think what I like (Final Fantasy, anime, Owl City, the 90s cartoons) makes me a bit weird/stupid, but I think those two tv series are the only two 'pleasures' I feel even remotely embarrassed about now.

Mine would be watching Barbie and Disney movies.

I love watching cartoons and sometimes it can be a bit embarressing when I get wierd looks but I'm not embarressed enough that I don't tell anyone about it. >.<

The main one I really don't tell anyone about is that I like playing games. I dunno why but most of the girls I know are really girly girly and I don't want them bitching about me behind my back because I like to play a game here and there.

I told two girls at work once and I got the wierdest looks and they gossiped about me for a while. They no longer work there now, so I just keep that part of myself, to myself to avoid the bitchyness.

I regularly watch Tokusatsu shows. Just think Power Rangers, but in Japanese, only actually a bit cooler and you know, not quite Power Rangers. I have a whole list of major issues I have with modern Toku shows nowadays, particularly with how the writing nowadays is affected by the current Japanese audience demographic. It doesn't mean I don't find any merits with them - else I wouldn't still be watching the modern stuff - it's just that there are so many elements and tropes borrowed from anime, and the two just aren't very compatible in my opinion.

Not to mention that with what companies like Toei regard as being popular with kids - constant slapstick kiddy humour and a lack of emphasis on villains, it shows with their newest shows. You start to see villains getting less and less screen time, and hence become poorly-motivated by their actions and characteristics, and the protagonists become unbearably over the top. Yes, I know they are kids' shows, but the days of Kamen Rider Black never had to do this.

Why do I watch modern Toku despite all this? Like I said before, it still has its merits. You still find modern shows that you largely love, even despite its critical flaws. They're still largely enjoyable, if you can overlook the flaws that grind your gears. And as I've been watching it for quite a number of years now, it's become part of my routine, so there.

:hmmm: mine would probably just be things people consider 'geeky'.
Some of my music as well, as soon as I say I like it, people sort of go... that's a bit weird.
It doesn't bother me as much as it used to be I'm not gonna go around shouting about the fact that I like foreign music and computer games :hmmm:
Most people are either amazed or slightly freaked (or both) when I mention I play cod. It's annoying.

During my break in work I love reading those trashy magazines, not the celeb ones, the other ones. The ones that have those 'real life' stories like, 'my daughter's new boyfriend is the sea lion who sodomised my husband into a coma two years ago'. Can't get enough of them

my guilty pleasure is that i like to be nice and friendly to people and have a yap.

i just find it quite difficult sometimes.:sad3:

Right, I've had a think and I reckon my guilty pleasures are:

This Forum :wacky:
I will not tell anyone I come here. I am not proud of it and it is very nerdy and if I told people I came on an FFF forum they would look at me like 8( and things would feel awkward, I am sure they'd judge me hahaha.

This song
It's so fucking shit, in every way, but I listen to it almost daily hahaha I don't know why I like it, it's fun and bouncy but if someone is in the car with me and this song comes on I make sure to quickly change it :hmmm:

RPing
Not so much any more, I don't have the patience for it but i will not tell anyone i RP'd because it is very lame and sad etc.

I'll think of more and post them up later.

My biggest guilty pleasure is watching ridiculous shows like Gossip Girl( first 2 seasons), Pretty Little Liars, and Revenge. It's kind of embarrassing admitting I watch these cause I'm a guy but hot/bitchy/plastic chicks, mystery, and campy vibes seem to be a mix I can't resist :sad2:

Another guilty pleasure of mine is going on ffwiki and reading about plots and characters of FF games I never got to play. When I get to playing the games I always forget the plots anyways xD

I guess a last guilty pleasure of mine would be spending money I need on ridiculous things like candy or a videogame when I should be saving up for an apartment. I hate myself for doing it but I do it anyways -__-

i get off to watching underage anime girls getting raped, despite my strong sense of justice towards real rape and pedophilia. :sad3:

i also like to troll people :sad3:

I'm surprised people here are listing the fact they enjoy games. :S Personally, I tell people and if they judge me or bitch about me because I like games, I just don't consider them a very good friend. :/ People don't have to like the same things you do, but they should respect your hobbies and interests.

It's certainly easier to keep the 'guilty pleasures' secret and to avoid being shunned, but I like to know who's willing to respect me and who isn't. Hiding yourself won't make anyone a better friend. Furthermore, you're less likely to find out if people share these hobbies. It's quite possible that people do when you least expect it. I'd rather take the risk and find friends than avoid being judged. (And I really hate being judged. :wacky:)

Still, one could argue that I unwisely put myself in the line of fire. :wacky:

My biggest one is probably pop music. I like most of, if not all of it. Nicki Minaj, PSY, Lil Wayne, etc. Yep it's all good to me. It's best in the car though, where we're forced to have to hear it. So I can enjoy it without people thinking I'm weird.

Another would be my KH & FF games. If I told other family I played them, they would probably tell me to grow up and play and real game Blah blah blah. Boy, they're gonna hate my career choices.
