Apart from the WEAPONS all the bosses are simple unless you did no training in the game at all. Sephiroth the ultimate bad ass can be taken out only using my weapons no magic or using knights of the round. So i was wondering has anyone made a mod which makes the game harder i have seen a vincent story line mod so i know they are possible thanks.

I do believe that there's a strong mode mod of some sort for the PC version, user created via hacking and such.

I haven't the foggiest where to find it and if I did I wouldn't be able to anyway as we're not allowed to discuss that kind of stuff here. :hmmm:

Best bet i'd say is to just search around for it, google and (most probably) youtube will be your best bets, I think.

Otherwise you can try all sorts of challenges, low level, no materia or other specific challenges for you to do throughout the game.
If the game's not hard enough for you, limit yourself so it is.

I always thought on the basic difficulty, all RPGs are easy if you level at all. Grinding does pay off and make the game easier.

Still, though, easy games on a normal difficulty aren't actually that bad. When I play FFVII, it is because of the storyline. The gameplay is extremely solid, and the story has top priority.

Ugh it does my head in when people say things are too easy, sure it's not the most challenging of games at the best of times, but if you over level, the hell do you expect?

If you train enough, all games will be easy. The first time I played through I was so underlevelled and under equipped I just had to restart because I couldn't kill Sephiroth. (Clueless was me) I literally just went through as fast as I could with as little fights as possible, and ofc. the lack of gil meant I couldn't buy what I wanted as well either

Agreed. When I played through the first time I didn't level up at all and things were harder. But second play through and such I level up 3+ before each boss and through that I was able to beat the game fair and square.

Buy your potions, don't equip magic, and good luck to you. :elmo:

I will agree with Kelly. It's just annoying to me, personally, if people say things are too easy. The game wasn't easy for a low level player, and if you don't go overboard with the materia.

Ruby weapon, Emerald weapon, easy? Yeah, I do not think so. I spent a whole month on that Ruby bitch. :mokken:

Something which I thought about was that it's actually pretty hard to tell whether a RPG is easy or not. Because the difficulty is usually determined by how far you've leveled up and such.

How does one measure? Well, I mean, unless it's obvious... but usually it isn't.

It all depends on how the way you play, man.

I do agree that the first time I played it through, I thought it be a LITTLE harder. I did level up a bit the first time too. ANYBODY that thinks Ruby is easy is nuts in my book. It took me 30 or 35 (maybe more) tries to beat Ruby my first trip through FFVII, even after leveling up in the Northern Crater. This is with a not mastered KOR, Final Attack, Life mastered, and Phoenix mastered. How anyone could beat Ruby without spending time leveling up in the pools is beyond me. Plus, the song in the pools is rad.

All in all, added up to a great experience. Sephiroth, to this day still disappoints me though.

Just more griping?
Maybe?

Dude may have a point though? FFVIII was always a challenge because of the monster being equal to party level, but that being said over levelling will kill any game.

I made a personal Mod years ago where I stopped my party levels and the reserve level at 50 by giving everyone level 99 but with out the stats and this proved very interesting with the high level summons taking 15% of your max HP off and the base of you HP pool was limited as to how much you could double it or even triple it.

So they were level 99 with level 50 stats:awesome: but I deleted the save:rage:

The game is easy to move through but still some people would find it hard to play any RPG. This game is a great start off to RPGs. My first time playing was when I was 12 or 13 years old and I had trouble beating some bosses. I didn't know you could destroy those pyramids reno cast on you and other bosses had tricks to them as well. All in all I thought it was a clever and unique game.

If you bring your characters above level 95 and fight Sephiroth he becomes 2x harder. Try that if you haven't already.

(I did that first playthrough. I didn't even have KOTR and was crushed so fast. Sooooooooooo fast.)

Well if you think about it... The game should be easier for you...after you play through it once...twice....20000 times... you tend to remember boss's weaknesses, best way to kill them, ect...

I'm sure the first time you played the game was harder than now... just saying

The game is not that easy. It is not insane like, for example, Phantasy Star II, where the dungeons are insanely difficult even with all your characters maxed out. You can usually beat FFVII without grinding like mad but if you play recklessly, lose some key items and don't make any planning, you will have a hard time beating big bosses.

Didn't think FF7 is too easy, myself. 8 however, I don't think I got wiped out at all during the gameplay except for one or two occasions where you basically have to know what you're going against. This of course, excluding all the little secrets like weapons and the likes.

Now the hardmod version on PSX, sheesh! That's hard! I never really grind when I play, but with this version one must grind, it's the only way :D

There were one or two bosses in VII that made me grit my teeth but otherwise it was fairly easy. Average for a Final Fantasy game. It was certainly no Ninja Gaiden. ^-^

I think with the average amount of grinding that you do just walking from place to place...it is on the easier side...for me anyways. I haven't had a problem with any of the bosses and I'm half-way through disc 2...but I also haven't run from any battles either.

I quite liked the difficulty of FFVII. I tackled it at a steady pace and did my best to explore as much as I could, yet despite being slightly above the average level for each new area I entered, I definitely recall a few tricky bosses.

The optional bosses go without saying, but I remember the demon gate in the temple of the ancients being quite challenging as well as the stretch of the game played without materia in Wutai.

This game was pretty easy, but at the same time, as everyone has mentioned, if you grind alot, then you really can't say it's "easy", becuase you've put it on yourself for a boring experience.

Try using ONLY magic or ONLY weapons, or better yet NO healing except for Inns. :ahmed:

Most bosses for this game were pretty easy, but a few gave me hell. I remember one after snowboarding, I think it was Schizo or something like that. I had to level up a bunch to kick his ass. Just like everyone said, if you grind way too much, this game will be easy. I still haven't beaten any of the WEAPONS though :(
